The inhabitants of those places become displaced, it's pure and simple gentrification endorsed by international organizations and governments, local people becoming servants in their own land, the worst thing is, tourists don't know the damage they do to locals.

If it was about preservation, they would have left it to the people who have been taking care of it all this time.
The Greeks and the Romans they left a priceless gift to Jordan but looks like Jordanian government does not have the correct infrastructure, you need to bring tourists a certain amount but also you have to give a certain amount of services....This means proper settlements for Bedouins as well as proper infrastructure for tourists...with respect for the environment
