Vietnamese street food blew us away! 🍜 From classics like pho & banh mi to surprising new favorites, we loved every bite. What’s your all-time favorite Vietnamese dish? Let us know below!
Hey, we're happy we could help a bit. 🙏🙌 Be sure to check our other video on the Best Things to do in Hanoi if you need more inspo! Wishing you a great trip ❤🇻🇳
From France, near Brittany. To me Vietnam is the best of the South East Asia countries from my experience ( people, landscapes ,food, beaches, facilities, etc)I will come to Da Nang next February for 3 weeks and then more later. You both look friendly and beautiful and speak very well . Hope you have success because your video is just great. Enjoy your trip
Aww, that's so sweet 😭❤ Your words really mean a lot to us! We feel the same about Vietnam, we just didn't want to leave anymore. We made a stop at the Marbel Mountains in Da Nang on the way to Hoi An and really enjoyed it there. We want to spend more time there next time. Enjoy your upcoming trip! 🙌
Yes yes! The way you put it, spot on. "There's so much to look at but it's not overwhelming" and "in the middle there's this greenery". As someone who grows up there and spends majority of my life there, I haven't been able to put to words how I feel whenever I'm home but this is it. Thanks so much for sharing this to the world guys.
Hi there! It depends on where your hotel is located, the bus goes kind of around the old town. So upon arrival, take Hanoi Airport Bus 86 which is stationed just outside the arrival terminal . The bus departs every 30 minutes from 6:20 AM to 11 PM (the bus waits until it’s reasonably filled), and takes around 1 hour to reach its final stop, Hanoi Railway Station near the Old Quarter. We got off at the stop in front of Hanoi Melia Hotel (the stop before the end station) which is south of the old town. (the stops before that are east of the lake: 142 Tran Quang Khai -> Hanoi Opera House). The ticket costs 45,000 VND (less than 2 USD) and can be paid directly on the bus. If you’re short on cash, hit up an ATM inside the airport beforehand. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask 😊
I little side note about the Matyr statue, the person was not holding a torch but actually an antitank lunge mine, a suicide bomb weapon killing both the user and the enemy
Right! Now that you say it I remember reading about those devices used in the Vietnam War, looks exactly like that. How did we not see that 😅😂 Seems like info on the internet can still be lacking for places like these. I changed it in the subtitles, thank you for clarifying!🙏
This walking tour looks like a blast! I loved how you showed the hidden gems of Hanoi. The egg coffee sounds like such a unique treat. what's your top pick for a must-try cafe?
Hey, Hanoi really was a blast! We actually have a blog post on our favorite cafés in Hanoi if you're interested rootsabroadtravel.com/best-cafes-hanoi/ 🙌 Try out Loading T Cafe for some amazing specialty coffees like egg coffee. ☕🤩✨ Thank you for watching!
Hey, since we were spending over 3 months in Southeast Asia, including some rural parts of Lao and Cambodia, we decided to take Rabies shots. But that came more from the fact that we encountered a lot of stray dogs in Sri Lanka during our visit, some aggressive ones too. We personally don't think a Rabies shot would be necessary if you're just staying in the city of Hanoi. We haven't encountered any stray dogs there (which would be the main reason for a rabies shot) and we read over 90% of cats & dogs in Hanoi have even been vaccinated against Rabies. So, if you're not planning trips to the rural parts of the country we think you should be fine without. Keep in mind we are no doctors and don't know your medical history, so it's purely our opinion. Hope this helps, thank you for watching! ❤🙏
@@rootsabroadtravel great thank you so much for your details info. I will be staying in the Old Quarter and visiting Ha Long Bay. Are there stray cats and dogs there do you know? I love your videos and have subscribed! 😊
Honestly, for those two locations, it wouldn't make any sense for us to get Rabies shots. But if you're already planning other trips or journeys you could already get it now in advance. It's up to you really, we haven't seen any dogs in either location in Vietnam. You can always message us if you have any other questions! Thanks again, we always hope the videos are helpful 🤗

Not everywhere. We have a lot of local shops and restaurants that are cash-only. However, it's really safe here! You can take a stroll at midnight in the old quarters without worrying :D
Hey! We never felt unsafe in Vietnam, even during night at train stations or in the more remote areas of Sapa or Hue. The Vietnamese people are really friendly, just beware of typical tourists scams or pickpocket (like everywhere in the world). Many of the shops, street food stalls, etc. only take cash and you will need a credit card to take money of an ATM (domestic bank cards will most likely not work). Our favorite bank was TPBank, as we didn't have to pay any fees to withdraw money there. Thank you for watching❤ & you can check our blog for a complete travel guide for Vietnam -> rootsabroadtravel.com/vietnam-travel-tips/

What is the nearest bus stop near Old Quarter plying from the airport? Also how much it costs?

I'm coming to Hanoi for vacation soon and been advised to take Rabies vaccine. Do you think it's essential I do?
