I really find it impossible to compare the material Josh Klinghoffer created with the Red Hots to John Frusciantes songs. Each era of this band has a special place in my heart and each one is very unique in their own rights and I enjoy all of them. They are almost two different bands in that aspect and I will never understand the constant comparisons to Josh and John.
Underrated comment.
That's true, for me personally is josh more musicaly creative, don't get me wrong but for me he is musician from outer space, he is making so original music.
The problem being that Frustrating is the only one that neglects the others.
I stopped admiring him since the return to the samo' boring style canteen.
@@sagvancoffee7364 Indeed Josh is... He made Anthony and Flea work out of their comfort zone all the time. I guess the reason Josh is not in the band, beyond all Johnny-Divo-Frustrating motives, is that he really wanted to explore, while the others wanted to just ... jam.
The proof is that Josh introduced Danger Mouse to be the producer for The Getaway.
@@robbedontuesday yea that's completaly true, flea said something similar in some recent interview about playing with Josh. However poor Josh, how they got rid of him.
I hope they release a deluxe edition of The Getaway. The Josh fans and Josh deserve that ❤️ he was a real godsend for RHCP and filled Johns shoes quite well if you ask me.
Josh overgrew John... He is a hell of a musician, while John had major hits.
John is who made the RHCP a band popular as ABBA.

Josh kept the Chilis going! Can’t see how he almost ended them. The Getaway is a great album in its own right.
I definitely love this one. Fresh, futuristic, nostalgic.

The Getaway - the best of that period with Josh. Definitely a mature lush follow up album worthy in their canon

I watched some joshes interview where he said that he was surprised with being kicked out of band because they were so deep into writing songs for the next album which means that there are many amazing song with this gay getaway vibe just chilling on some computer. But knowing john he would never let them publish them anywhere so I hope someone like you will somehow find the way to get them.

Oof. Wow. First time hearing this. This is an incredible song. I loved the RHCP with Josh's influence. John's too. But this is a special sound.
Realmente entiendo que los Peppers hubiesen querido dar psso de nuevo a su amigo de siempre (tod@s lo hubiésemos hecho). Pero lo que es un hecho es que creativamente los fans hemos salido perdiendo pese a todo lo que Frusciante dio en tiempos anteriores.

I think there has been a lot of reused material from the stockpile of songs they wrote with Josh still in the band in the last two albums

i agree with much of the comments, this is a great song. Josh was the best person to keep RHCP afloat over a DECADE. Great music made with him. His solo work is incredible...but lets not retcon things here lol. Liike cmon....would anyone here rather have had the josh rhcp album be rleeased as opposed to UL and ROTDC? John coming back was not even on the radar for most fans. like this is very rare that someone with such an "indivudal" mindset sees the importance of rejoining his brothers for the third time and doing an unreal job at it. Josh + rhcp is a really good band, great music etc... but john + rhcp is OTHERWORLDY. like different dimension level. non comparible.
Although I like the new albums, UL sounds like something we've heard before. ROTDC is good and does experiment a bit with drum machines and synthesizers, but the majority of the album still sounds a bit like something we've heard before. With The Getaway it felt like you didn't know where they were going to go next which was exciting because they kept it uncertain. With John I feel like they will make an album that I was hoping for with the 2020 3rd josh album but it won't happen until he's really fully tapped back into the band.
After hearing the two new albums, I would’ve much rather had the josh album. Over the 10 years he was in the band, he continued to progress and became so much better than when he joined. Just thinking of the possibilities of what that 3rd josh album could’ve been… I liked UL, but ROTDC was one of my least favorites. They should’ve kept josh in the band imo
@Buzzy the only glimpse we have of what could've been is Josh's solo songs like "Nowhere I Am", "Obscene", and "Was Never There" which were rejected by the band and were reworked for Pluralone.
