Creating Impact: Paraíso de Ballenas

Through rePurpose Global’s partnership with Ecoworks, we are tackling the plastic waste problem on the Pacific coast of Colombia. The project aims to recover and recycle plastic waste from beaches and surrounding areas in Buenaventura, a region without proper waste collection systems.
By working with local communities, the project has brought together waste management efforts and local resources to create a unique, community-led approach. This includes incentivizing the collection of plastic waste, providing new job opportunities for local workers
and offering increased incomes, health insurance, hygiene facilities, safety training, and protective gear for waste workers.
