Great Reaction and you followed the whole story from start to finish without missing a frame :) This was 1985 b4 Computer Graphics and it took 4 months and 3,000 Hand Drawings to achieve that effect! It was the most played video in The history of MTV and only the 3rd RUclips video to hit ONE BILLION views. Not bad for a song and video that is 35 years old !
Glad you enjoyed the video! I still do after 35 years!. I was 16 years old when this video was released way back in 1985, I’m a fan ever since and finally got to see A-ha perform live in Cape Town, South Africa on valentines day 2020 with my high school sweetheart now my wife! A dream come true for both of us!
I have been binging on reaction vids to this song today and You may have not said a lot but your expressions seemed so genuine, it was great. Dang. Really cute :)
Great reaction - I was watching some other channels do this song and it was starting to frustrate me that they weren't even *looking* at the video half the time. I mean yeah, it's a great song, but I'm here to see reactions to the video. And you did not disappoint, so thank you!
1980s Pop . 1980s European pop has many songs with sounds reminiscent of the 1960s pop, but the 'techno', especially European techno, and electronic keyboards make songs like this easy to identify as coming out in the 1980s. (The hairstyles of the main characters are clearly from the 1980s as well.)This is a Norwegian group, so no surprise that, in mid 80s, the electronic keyboard, used in several ways here, is featured prominently. Without CGI, the improvement in the comic book effects are really like cartoons blended with filming are unique and impressive in 1980s videos like this. "The video used a pencil-sketch animation and live-action combination called rotoscoping, in which the live-action footage is traced using a frame-by-frame process to give the characters realistic movements. Approximately 3,000 frames were rotoscoped, which took 16 weeks to complete." And being front and center and watching the weekly innovation and improvement in music videos using animation on MTV from just a year or two earlier, (like Dire Strait's video 'Money For Nothing' that looked like a 1980-2 video game screen), is really impressive. Obviously different styles, but you can see the improvement in production qualities when the weight & $ of Warner records got behind the rerecording of the song and the video.
The lead guy in the video was the singer with four octaves. Along with the keyboardist he played the piano too. I think they were using two synthesizers. Also the riff that they were playing on the keyboard had the rythym of the drums in the keys. Drums are fast. So they put the fast beats to the keys making the keyboard the rythym.
Thank you all for the support❤❤

I like that you were getting emotional towards the end just like most people did back in the day. Great reaction.
