I think the last scene is especially special because this time instead of crying and walking away to hide his fears, Pran finally opened himself up completely and cried in Pat's arms.

This is the dynamics I know and not the stereotype that's often given. I loved every minute of Prans vulnerability and emotional outbursts while enjoying Pat taking charge of this part of their relationship and not judging his partner. Made me see how much my own relationship is awesome.

Definitely added to my list and now tops my favorites.

If this is the turning point to be brave and honest with their parents, then so be it (but I didn’t like how Pat announced it to his parents in front of strangers because he was angry and wanted to spite his dad. Pran wasn’t ready for that!! Not like this). The boys are tired and frustrated with all the secrets. The boys now have each other to lean on to share the outcome together. They are beyond the “you can’t talk to him or you have to avoid him” that their parents brainwashed them with. This was just a great episode! I loved it🙌🏼

I could feel Pran so much in this episode. He was raised by conservative parents who never let him do anything, not even pursue his dreams in music, and now they want to take away Pran's most important thing, his love.
"Why are you asking if you already know the answer?" Anyone who has conservative parents know this is the prohibted phrase. They will be mad at you because you're "not respecting them".
"You raised me like this." This one hit so hard. My parents didn't raise me to respect them, they raised me to fear them and to follow their rules. Now, they demand respect even thought they never respected me. Being afraid of your own parents is the worst feeling ever, and I experience it daily. Pran experiences it too.
I identify so much with him, it even hurts to acknowledge that.

“I had to hate Pran, to compete against him, because of you? That’s the reason?”
Ohm’s voice wavering as he says this, is just heartbreaking. Because he truly loves Pran and he’s disappointed that because of what his father did, it had to affect the way Pat and Pran’s saw each other. No one should teach a child to hate because of what they believe or do.

Now I finally get Pran's mom's actions and especially why she transferred Pran out of school, it wasn't really about Pat but about the fact that he was raised by Ming. She was afraid that if Ming raised his son in the same way he was raised that Pat would end up betraying Pran the same way she was betrayed that why the second she found out that the two had gotten close she immediately separated Pran from Pat because all she could see was Ming's son and she didn't want her son's future to get stollen away from him like the way that hers was. In her mind she was protecting her son ( though in a very toxic way ) from the inevitable betrayal that she felt could only erupt from their friendship because of the trauma she went through with Pat's dad.

This truth between the two parents is an amazing plot point. Not only does it not rely on a broken heart romance trope but it also speaks to a deep issue of privilege between men and women. She needed that scholarship to give herself a future that does not rely on having a husband to get her the comforts she could have gotten herself. She was obviously very smart and had a scientific mind based on what they told us. But a man beat her out of the scholarship. A man being the traditional scientist. A woman that was forced to give up her education and the people offering the scholarship didn't think twice about hearing him say it. They found it normal for a woman not to pursue an education so they didn't even bother to check with her. His dad is deplorable. To force a feud on his children to carry that pain into their generation and strip them of a life they could have made themselves. This plot point hurts more than anything I've experienced in a boy-love drama. this truly is one of my favorites.

yep happy sombody else noticed it, this topic of male entitlement and man hoarding oportunity depsite having it easier on every turn is rarly touched. He exploited vicious cycle of "this is wasted on a woman" . Same goes for movie funding or awards, a lot of time female filmmakers succed given chance but they also get much less money and chance than man. Same goes for sport coverage and all kind of award to women, they are definetly not having same chance and young girls dont see succesful women so they dont pursue these careers.

The rooftop scene, once again, never failed to impress me. It portrays the irony of two characters in this scene. Pat, usually cheeky, clumsy, and immature, is very calm in comforting Pran. On the other hand, Pran, generally composed and organised, appears vulnerable and cries his eyes out. As an audience, I was moved by the feelings portrayed by both characters.

Bad Buddy is a whole cultural reset. PatPran's relationship is so healthy. They communicate! They actually communicate! Since they have gotten together, they have not broken up once. Instead, all the obstacles have only made their bond stronger and I'm so here for it. I did not have high expectations for this show but it has outdone itself and every other show. The acting is 10/10, the who crew and everything is 10/10. The script is so well written and the storyline is so mature. No evil female characters. No cursed episode 11. No unnecessary drawn-out fights. No cliche tropes like 'wife' or 'I don't like men I only like xxx' and the list goes on. This has proven that even that a Romantic Comedy can be well executed. A series doesn't have to be dark or a drama to be top quality. Bad Buddy is literally a breath of fresh air. This show has literally changed the game.
Also, InkPa is sailing! We have been ready and waiting for a proper GL. Let's give our girls their own show.

How sure are you that ep 11 won't end up being cursed?? Lol. I mean, the families still hate each other and there hasn't been any resolution to the conflicts yet. Pat and Pran basically just ran away but they'll still have to deal with the whole mess when they return... If they return.. Personally I don't think I'd return for a long time. I'd want my family to feel the pain of losing me simply for their selfish reasons.

    • @vikctoryan15
      @vikctoryan15 2 года назад +73

@@myfairytalelife3 the reason why ep 11 is called the cursed episode is not because of inevitable conflict but because the couple always breaks up and then we get a whole sad montage of them being depressed and crying and missing each other instead of actually communicating their feelings. The fact that PatPran communicates means that we won't have to suffer through the tropes and be depressed along with them.

He never once let Pran face things alone. Also he comforted Pran, when even he was in so much pain. He is the walking green flag .

He was strong when he needed to be, then when he was in his safe place (Pat) he let himself live through all his emotions. Knowing you have a safe place, you have people that loves you no matter what, that they'll be there for you when you are in need, that you can be all of yourself without fear of being judged, that gives you the force to be strong when you need to be. I absolutely love that Pran is not afraid to show his emotions to Pat and that his character is not depicted as the 'weak one' because of that. That serie is such a breath of fresh air, so much romantic relationships in medias (bl or otherwise) are unhealthy. We need to see more heatlhy relationships. Sorry, I went on a tangent there.

Honestly, from all the BLs I've watched this is the only one they didn't break off the relationship and I'm so happy for it. It just shows that they both have a healthy relationship, where they equally care for each other and put equal amount of effort to keep their relationship. It shows that they love each other because they are ready to fight for each other. They won't let go easily.

It hurt so much when Pran said "... thats why im not like the other kids". It's like he is ashamed of who he is and how he grew up to be :( And Ohm/Pat killed it with the confrontation with his dad after the truth is out. The way his voice broke, the way the tears welled up, the way he walked out of his mum, the way he held and comforted Pran despite having just found out the lies behind the most respected figure that he has been chasing after all his life..

Don't see Pran's mum and Pat's dad being talked about enough, so I'll do it. I'm so glad that the screenwriter came up with a genuine reason for their discord, it wasn't unrealistic and was very believable. Having your scholarship stolen is a huge deal, especially if it's done by your friend, someone you trust. As a woman that scholarship would probably have allowed Dissiya to have a better future with a degree from a better reputed place and as she very rightly points out, Ming joined the family business, not something he needed to have the best credentials for. While I can understand that parents can put a huge amount of pressure on you, there are some limits you don't cross, particularly when it's a friend.
I think most of us got the feeling that Pran's mom was the most intense in her hatred for her neighbours, we all had our own assumptions about it but with this explanation I can totally understand where her feelings stem from.

    • @scarpien
      @scarpien 2 года назад +103

Yep. Until this point I couldn't stand Pran's mom; I found her to be too over the top. However, after this revelation I understand her motivation better. As for Pat's dad, all this time he was acting like the injured party when he was the 'dog' all along. The way he treated Pran like Pran personally wronged him I could never understand. However, now I realize every time he looked at Pran it reminded him of what he did to his mom.

honestly, i always hate Pran's mum for being unreasonable.
after this ep, i finally understand why Pran's mum are so against Pran being close to Pat and why Pat's dad doesn't want Pat to befriend Pran. It's the hatred she kept for so long for being betrayed by her close friend and his guilty feeling of betraying his close friend (to obey his dad).
for me, this ep also explains why Pran cried in ep 5 though wasn't expecting this kind of plot twist.
      looking forward to ep 11.

They r both selfish and honestly even with the whole scholarship thing, i dont see why she had to make her kid hate her son. Also if she hated them so much she should have moved. Also the fact that she sent pran away after the whole musical thing… like she literally keeps fucking around with her kids life in a negative way. Just cuz that happened.

When Pat's dad walk out on him, he went to the sofa to sit and his mother calming him down but instead he answered his mother with (11:31) "But he can't fix his past and I must be the one that takes it right? Ma!!" Ohm's sarcastic and frustrated portrayal through his facial expressions and voice is so on point. Every child engaged in a frustrating argument against parents know that even once in your life that's how you really acted. And honestly that's the equivalent of Pran's (6:24) "Is it even my job to be responsible for your feelings?"

Can I just say how incredibly refreshing it is, that they didn’t end with fighting with each other and breaking things off with one another like they usually do? That speaks VOLUMES on how healthy and incredibly strong Pat and Pran’s relationship is. despite having a relationship in a situation that puts so much pressure on them to buckle down and give in to what their parents want but they didn’t. They did the opposite and stood up for their love the moment they were confronted. They stood strong, consoled each other and were THERE for each other. And that is such a breath of fresh air. Their relationship throughout this whole season has been nothing but being there for each other through every single situation, being brave in sticking up for their love and FINDING A WAY to make their relationship work. And that to me is what makes this series truly impeccable. Bravo to both Nanon and Ohm for being incredible with conveying their feelings so rawly and to the director for directing an incredible script. I have seen probably every BL and this is by far, at the very top of my list.

I've seen a couple people excusing Pran's mom after the reveal about their history, but as much as she has the right to hate Pat's father, that doesn't excuse everything she's done!
She seems to have really damaged Pran with her hatred. Someone in the comment section of another video mentioned that Pran might have mental health problems and I completely agree.
My best guesses are OCD (clean and organized to the point that he's anxious at the thought of Pat in his room in the beginning, meticulous about the length of chopsticks, his pens, etc.) and Depression (the whole happy/sad theme, the big smile on his door, a shirt about positivity all seem like reminders to be happy and when he's sad he looks really drained and tired.). I'm not a doctor and all of those could be personality quirks, but the final hint for me was what he says to his mom before she slapped him: "Because you raised me this way, that's why I'm not like other kids." From her reaction, she obviously knows what that means, it's something they've dealt with. It seems to me like he's been diagnosed and he blames her for the way he is.
It's probably not all her fault, there's always the nature vs nurture debate, but brainwashing your child to hold your grudges and controlling them to the point of making them transfer schools because they're friends with someone you don't approve of can't exactly be healthy.
She's allowed one horrible thing that happened to her decades ago consume not only her life but her the lives of her entire family (I do not excuse Pran's dad or Pat's mom in this though. They are just as bad as their spouses because they went along with it).

The hatred is not about their parents being homophobic but because all the conflict between Pat’s dad and Pran’s mom that we didn’t expect more than cliche story such as an ex-lovers, it’s making it more realistic and deep. Their acting are really great, I can feel the emotion of Pran’s mom that being a victime of Pat’s dad ego... imagine, someone you trust the most just stealing your scholarship, saying to the teacher that you are not to take it when you litellary root for that to pursue your dreams, the worst part is when Pat’s dad is will be took his business family when Pran’s mom are planning to reach her future, but at the same time, it’s understandable (but not acceptable) why Pat’s dad do that, because the pressure he got from his father. I loves how the writer can making them defended each other about why they act like that but the fatal is how bad their parenting is. I mean, yes, you can hating on people for the unforgivable mistake but brainwashed, compete, telling your kids to hate each other is definitely sucks and toxic. You are not fixed anything but making your sons can’t escaped from their situation and need to take a responsibility from what’s you are do back then.

I am sorry but if I were Pran’s mom I would not want my kid associating with his family and I wouldn’t stay in the same neighborhood as him. That is what I don’t understand if they hate each other so much why are they neighbors. I would not lie to my kid either, I mean why did she lie to Pran, she could have told him the truth.

@@Anelta_Rant I agree with you to a point. I mean I wouldn't want to live my life moving every time someone moves next to me I didn't like. What kind of message are you sending your children in that instant? That you should run from problems? Didn't Pran spend the majority of his life doing just that and look where it got him? I do agree, however, that had Pran's mom been upfront with him from the beginning about why she didn't want him associating with the 'evil family from next door' maybe Pran just might have kept his distance; just maybe--I doubt it. He and Pat probably still would've fallen in love since it's not Pran's--nor Pat's--job to continue the hate his and Pat's parents have for each other. But the issue that stuck with me most is why the hell didn't the teacher confirm with Pran's mom whether she really turned down the scholarship before awarding it to someone else? Why just take the word of her 'friend?'

@@scarpien I have to admit I am someone that does not let go very easily when someone wrongs me until I pay them back for everything, I know it is not healthy but that is just me and if I were in Pran’s mom place I would not have acted much differently. True the teacher is as much to blame for this too. Moving away sometime is not running away, I know I would have not been able to stand seeing him everyday pretending like if he did not ruin my life, I would have definitely done something I would regret so in other to avoid that getting yourself away from that situation is the best

I love it when Pat let Pran sob at his shoulder even though he's also equally hurt at the situation. Pat is a person who shows so much emotion while Pran isn't so seeing his boyfriend cry, he held back his own tears and let Pran cry all out what he's bottling the past years. Pat can also bawl and let his feelings out but he held and pat Pran's head to comfort him just to make him feel alright. So caring Faen. 😢❣️ I just want a relationship like these two.

I really love that they haven't done the stereotypical "there's a misunderstanding/conflict that makes the couple angry at each other and break up" thing, it feels like these two actually have a stable relationship with communication. They understand each other and trust each other. I think the conflict in this is the families and the sons. The families have to make up in order for their relationships with their sons to be restored. I love this

Bad Buddy series literally set the bar SO HIGH I'm afraid nothing can come close to it. Ohm and Nanon's acting are just phenomenal. There are unique elements incorporated in this series so even if the plot is cliché, with P'aof as the director, as well as OhmNanon's acting, the cinematography, the soundtracks, and the transition of scenes, they took this series on another level and made it memorable. All the casts did so well in their roles and they did it really effectively. PatPran's chemistry and character development is awesome, I can't wait to see more of them.

I love how realistic it is that Pat's dad would hold a grudge against the other family because he's ashamed of his own behavior. Some small part of me is hoping that he was also motivated by wanting to protect his son, because he was afraid Pran would be coached to get revenge, so he wanted Pat to always be better so that Pran would not be able to take anything away from him the way he did from Pran's mom. It was wrong-headed either way but I hope he was thinking about his son's feelings even a little bit.

I agree with your insight. I think Pat's dad is afraid of karma so he pushed Pat to the best so, as you said, Pran's mom would not get her revenge. Humans are so complicated.. Sometimes even after knowing that we are the one who did wrong, we still try to lash out even more instead of apologizing.

the pure disappointment and hurt to find out the kind of person his dad truly was , to dare get involved in his life because of his mistake. Pat is the oldest child of his family so he is used to carrying the family burden, and now he just looks so defenseless and exhausted of it all :((
