      hi, im also planning on applying ED as an international student at northwestern and i had a question did you specifically receive any financial aid? and would you consider yourself to be a top-notch student stats-wise?

    • @vincent_yang
      @vincent_yang  Год назад +1

      hi! good luck!
      Yes for the first and no for the second- note financial aid is in relation to your EFC and not your merit

    if you double major in weinberg and mccormick does ythat mean you need to do physics and chemistry AND foreign languages

    • @vincent_yang
      @vincent_yang  Год назад +1

      that is an interesting question, from what I know you have a "home" department, so I'm prettttty sure you only have to do the department requirements for your "home" department and not for your other double major's requirements, but I may be wrong o.o
      I also don't think "home" department is the term they use lol

    Do you know if I should put published research/independent research as an honor/award or as an extracurricular (or even maybe the additional information section) of common app

    • @vincent_yang
      @vincent_yang  Год назад

      First of all congrats! Second, put it as an extracurricular, it's not necessarily an award per se, but it's an excellent Tier 1 extracurricular!!
      I would only mention it In your extracurriculars and reference it in your essay (only reference not extensively write about it). If the publishing company is a major publishing company, I could also see you putting it in the honor/awards section, but I would recc you to save space and put other activities.

    What's your thoughts on living in Ayers? Is it as dead and isolated as they say it is?

    • @vincent_yang
      @vincent_yang  Год назад +1

      I'll make a series where I review each dorm on campus, but no, it's just the facilities that are subpar to the other dorms. People say it's dead probably cause most of us aren't in the dorm, lol like we often meet each other *outside* of Ayers haha.
      That being said, we *are* floormates, and each of us have different friend circles. How you find those friend circles will determine whether or not you feel like Ayers is dead.
      The isolation factor I actually disagree with lol, but southern campus dorms have a diff vibe, so I would say south campus feels less isolated bc they have some smaller dorms. Most of the time you won't spend in your dorm room anyways so honestly Ayers is kinda mid, the only good thing about it is it's close proximity to tech, the garage, lisas, and a few other places. You should probably place sliva and lincoln higher on your priority list though lol

      @@vincent_yang I got deferred 🥲 Do you know if Northwestern defers a lot of their early decision applicants? Also, your videos were so helpful to me throughout this process so thank you!!

    • @vincent_yang
      @vincent_yang  Год назад +1

      @@heeyitszey :( oh no! I'm actually not too sure on the % of deferred applicants who get accepted in RD. I am an RD myself and didn't apply ED so I can't really tell you 😔. I know around 50% of our current freshmen body ED'd, which is unusually high compared with other colleges, but I got in RD so it's not impossible.
      I would suggest you still RD to other schools justtt in case. I'm glad my videos still!
      😔I am wishing you luck!
