In my 30 years in the business I'd never had one where I could just roll it up and fold it up and peel it off the evaporator coil like a carpet.... lol
🌺 Not sure about South Georgia but here in Mississippi it's illegal to have a propane tank that close to a house. Regulations here in Mississippi say that a propane tank MUST be placed at least 8 feet from the home. My son has been working for a propane company for 17 years, I learn a lot along the way, lol! 🌺
I've watched a few of your videos....where abouts are you located.... seems like the southern end of the United States....lots of tailors... mainly cleaning issues.... I'm from Washington state.... most issues are air filters and evap clogs.... nothing like you encounter....most units are in a graveled area......no vegitation around... your job is way more difficult.... much appreciated for your work....
When I bought my house 10 years ago I found something very similar. The lady I bought the house from had 3 cats and a dog. The entire system was plugged up. I ended up having someone come and sweep out the entire system after I cleaned the coils off myself. The amount of stuff they pulled from the ducts was nearly unbelievable. I am fairly certain she was running the system without a filter of any type.
Don't leasting to Robert about slicing your videos. I like to see what is behind the doors. Robert must be one of those movies produce working in A lanta GA.😀😗🌟❤️👍
I would have checked for a filter when I saw that indoor coil I went on a no air call the homeowner said she has no filter but when I took the coil door off the airflow got strong so I knew something was blocked in the return crawled under the house and found a filter box about 30 feet from the crawl door inside was a 5 inch thick filter that was dated 11 years prier to the year I was there
@@HVACGUY that figures I can't understand some people I put a trane package heat pump in my house 26 years ago and I change my filter every month no matter how it looks you can by a box of filters at the hardware store and you get them for a little over a dollar a filter that way
I was on a call for maintenance and one unit was set right in front of a drier vent. I had a little bit of trouble getting the louvers out. I had to use my map gas to clean the condenser coil.
Thank you for this vid.. so many multi problems. Your thorough troubleshooting is incredible. All things considered. An eye on every aspect of a good running system .. thank you
Wow, that seems to be the big downfall of these package units, dirty coils. They make them where the average guy can't get to them to clean. Amazing how it just pulled back like a blanket, though I have seen that before. Once a year at least you should clean your coils. Evaporators are tough for the average person, so change the filters regularly and you may go for years without having to clean it. It also makes a difference where the air return is located, I find the worst ones are floor level in the kitchen, man don't go a month without changing those. The grime, grease and dirt will clog you up in a hurry.
I'm curious as to why the coil was not frozen solid. And why was the back pressure not lower. It couldn't have been getting much airflow through that coil.
Curtis, I do enjoy your videos. But I do have a suggestion. It seems like a large portion of the run time is watching you remove and reinstall side panels. If you would consider a bit of editing it would make your videos shorter and more to the point. That could lead to more views and subscribers. "Let's look at the coil" (cut to view of coil with panel already removed). "I want to check this capacitor" (skip panel removal and just show cap testing) Not a criticism, just a suggestion that might help grow your channel.
I reckon he's going just fine, plus editing obviously takes time and effort, my point I guess is u wouldn't really like to be editing ur vids after a hectic days work or on a day off where you could be resting and relaxing etc, Just an opinion - I'll shut up now haha
IDK, having almost 20k subscribers and having really detailed content, and his editing that he clearly already invests a lot of time in and has netted almost 20k subscribers, seems to be working better for him than you seem aware of. just my 2 cents out of billions worldwide. However i feel like if what he was doing was inadequate in any way, he wouldnt have 1/100th of the sub count he currently does.
My ac guy told me to buy the cheap one piece filter. Change it often. We also get it cleaned once a year. Living in South Carolina you need air conditioning more than heat.
Must be a rental home. I replaced a compressor on a rental and the pressures didn’t look right. The landlord told me that one of his buddies had already cleaned the evaporator coil but I could tell that nobody had touched the evaporator. The coil was covered with pet hair and grease. It took a ton of degreaser to get that coil clean.
yeah, blower wheel is likely a caked up fur coat just the same! I salvage used blower assemblies to use as garage and construction blowers and many of them are caked up rattling like mad, clean them good and their smooth as new. by seeing whole systems that were changed, I know plenty were just because of a blower rattling! if anyone tries using them bare and outside a unit, you'll have to block a large amount of the outlet to control airflow and not over-current the motor! it generally ends up with just over 3/4 of the outlet blocked to get enough static back pressure to be within current range and they move a "ton" of air. build guards to keep fingers/debris out or you'll have a bad time.
It looks like a small 1500 square foot home . The compressor was huge! And they had an additional mini split as well. Good grief, how cold do they want it?? How many tons was the package unit? Oh, and what was the rattling noise from?
Why not relocate the capacitor up front? Did not see you investigate that rattling noise. Seems to me it was probably the blower assembly. As bad as that evaporator was, that blower assembly was probably close to the same, or worse. Why not check it out?
I don't know why it's working better... you only took a sweater out of the one radiator... (spoken with a voice dripping in sarcasm like Niagra falls is a small drip)
Hey hvac guy , love your channel, a question, what brand is your small toolbox you use ? Im a field service engineer myself and im looking for something like what you have . Greetz from holland !
After you removed that small animal from the return carrier had to put a replaceable part way back in a hole you can hardly get your hand into. Thanks carrier.
I don't see how anyone can stand it when their air unit sounds like it has a bag of rocks rattling around in them like that when mine starts making noises like that im out there lickity split trying to stop it no matter what.
Washing that coil from the outside in is just pushing that crud further into the coil at this point I would have used the Nu Brite and washed it from the inside out just saying.
I don’t know about anybody else but to me it seems like everything sounded like an old jalopy. It sound like it was gonna shake apart just about in any minute.
They need to start putting handles on these units like RTU's have. Seriously was that all hair on the evaporator coil from the dog? Omg; people need to replace their filters itleast once a month with pets.
Thank you for taking time to put these things up , I know it takes time , we appreciate it.
He’s right! Thank you for your time, it really is appreciated.
The noise was what jumped out at me! 😮
Literally found the same on my condenser today.. my ac is working perfectly now that it can exchange heat.
That rattling would drive me crazy.
I guess it’s true that AC performance can be divided into the 3 most important factors. Airflow, airflow, and everything else
And physics.
You could knit a sweater with that build-up on the coil. Thxs for the vids!
Yeah i feel that clog owning a pair of huskies myself filter has to be replaced real often. The rattling that thing is doing would drive me nuts.

Some municipalities allow the tank next to the house when the tank capacity is less than 100 gallons .
Wow, it's amazing it worked at all.
Wow. A straight up mat of grossness. Great video buddy 👍
Need to look at the big pitcher, like the sound of some fan out of balance and a little more cleaning would make this service call more right
Yea, noticed the out of balance fan right away.

6:30 Coil: Ah, I can breath again!
That was pretty cool! It looked like the husky had lived inside the Box with it for a while! Lol , a long while!
Had the same thing happen next door to my house. Hadn't been a filter in it for some time. Good catch.
Good thorough job brother
Why do you wash the dirt into the coil ,wash opposite of air flow.
Do a video on the new bag , I’m considering one like it .
It’s a tad heavier, but having the additional pockets keeps a lot of stuff out of the bottom of the bag.m
@@HVACGUY my bags always get heavier , I keep adding stuff, then I wonder why it’s so heavy.
Just love to watch Pros who know what you are doing take care of trouble shooting problems👍👍👍
God Bless you for working out in that heat.
Good job Curtis.
I've never seen it peel off in on piece, that blows me mind
How can that much hair bypass the inside filter? Or is that a telltale sign that they were running without a filter at all for sometime?
Probably using those cheap $1.50 filters you see through and that barely catch anything.
No filter or wrong size filter and a ton of air was bypassing it

Great job. It must have been tough working in the heat. Thank you for the video.

The longer the video the faster you get to monetization.
My take on these videos, to slow increase the playback speed,to much talking screaming etc mute, to stupid don't watch. Problems solved.
Man that coil was bad. Great video
My ac guy told me to buy the cheap one piece filter. Change it often. We also get it cleaned once a year. Living in South Carolina you need air conditioning more than heat.
Just be happy that customer created a job for you.
Or
Does your employer 😂
Great job!
I love watching other tradesmen work

Now that's a genuine fur coat
Rolling that off the evap has to be satisfying
they say that TRANE is a better a outside air condition it has less parts. be bless and love.
Now I realize what that vibration was,, blower wheel is packed full of debris and out of balance ⚖️ lack of maintenance
Yeah if he cleaned the coil and the blower wheel he would get a call back! I can’t hear my tv when the ac comes on.

Let me guess, they change their filter every month or when the technician is on the way.
Once I had the same problem dirty ass coil like a layer or cat skin a week later the blower motor went out
It looks like a small 1500 square foot home . The compressor was huge! And they had an additional mini split as well. Good grief, how cold do they want it?? How many tons was the package unit? Oh, and what was the rattling noise from?
The unit sounds rough but I would clean the coil with chemical just to make sure I am on the safe side since head pressure so high
You found the husky @ 5:17
Why not relocate the capacitor up front?
Did not see you investigate that rattling noise. Seems to me it was probably the blower assembly.

Didn't know they made evaporator blankets , cool.
Well thats whats worng it has a Literal fur coat in the summer time, no wonder
Good video
I don't know why it's working better... you only took a sweater out of the one radiator... (spoken with a voice dripping in sarcasm like Niagra falls is a small drip)
Was that an old foam filter on the coil or just a mat of dirt and debris?
Now that's what I call a fur coat.
Hey hvac guy , love your channel, a question, what brand is your small toolbox you use ? Im a field service engineer myself and im looking for something like what you have . Greetz from holland !
I’m betting someone juiced her up to bring up that suction pressure. Now it’s clean so it’s flooding the condenser. What was the compressor amp draw ?
He could have made a custom rug out of that layer of ....
Looks like they had 2 huskies and lost 1. Lol
The advantage of placing the capacitor in the airflow is improved cooling = improved life.
After you removed that small animal from the return carrier had to put a replaceable part way back in a hole you can hardly get your hand into. Thanks carrier.
There is new dog in there.
What was the vibration?
What did the blower wheel look like?
Honestly not that bad. I thought the same thing. But, looks like the coil stopped most of that.
Almost enough fur there to make yourself a fur coat. Lol
Curtis, how did that Condenser Fan Motor sound to you?
Blade was unbalanced as y’all could here, but motor was still in good shape…for now.
@@HVACGUY It sounded a lot unbalanced. Like it was an old diesel truck.
Man I love your videos bet she ran great after that

now that is a fur coat! 🤣
Got the water hose out for nothing. Didn't even need to spray the evap coil 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you tell me what apps you use to read information from the unit.
fieldpiece joblink
@@HVACGUY thankyou sir
i would move the cap right in front of that fan.
Damn it man...even my lungs felt better after removing that from the condenser.
How do you like that umbrella. Does it actually take some of the heat off of you? Or does it radiate through the umbrella??
Washing that coil from the outside in is just pushing that crud further into the coil at this point I would have used the Nu Brite and washed it from the inside out just saying.
Wool blankets I can get behind but husky blankets just sounds wrong lol
awesome wish all my coil cleanig so easy
That blanket debris. All to often in vehicles the cabin filter is clogged.
Gotta look at the total picture right Curtis?
That unit sounds like a Model T.
Im not HVAC tech but something doesn't sound right. Is this the way it's suppose to sound at the beginning of the video?
Sounds like abad bearing or something rubbing
"Apeeling coil "and wacky fan blades.
What’s all the noise coming from?
New way to make blankets.
It’s like you found a dog with an air conditioner around it
I don’t know about anybody else but to me it seems like everything sounded like an old jalopy. It sound like it was gonna shake apart just about in any minute.
That’s a fur coat for sure😊
Do all Carrier units sound that bad?
It’s a blanky lol
You could have made a fur coat out of that mess.🤣🤣🤣
Still ka chugging along
Its crazy how people treat there aircon and wonder way it doesn't work..
Hate It When Filter Is Mounted On The Floor. All The Dirt Is Suck Into The Filter. Even More When Sweeping The Floor...
Talk about a fur coat. LOL
Why in the world would someone lay a horse blanket up against the coil like that?
They need to start putting handles on these units like RTU's have. Seriously was that all hair on the evaporator coil from the dog? Omg; people need to replace their filters itleast once a month with pets.
👍
Enough fur to knit an Afghan hound....
