So, I decided to analyze this as someone who grew up playing Spore way more than I probably should have. From another comment of mine: "I adore that the Creature/Tribal/Civ/Space stage music is full of motifs (and SFX in Space) implying what paths the player took. I'd have to really analyze it closely and take notes to figure out what their Space stage archetype possibly was. I'll probably make another comment analyzing that in detail. I wonder if their archetype is something that suits Kefka...." Yeah I'm doing that here. Cell Stage: it's kinda impossible to tell what path the player took from the music, at least from what I can tell. All I can get from it is that they got chased by an Epic cell, which doesn't tell me anything about the cell archetype. Creature Stage (Predator) is different. I'll count how many times I think music related to combat/social events show up: Combat: 3, I think? Social: 0 Also they fought an Epic, I think. And the creature editor theme comes up about as many times as I'd expect it to in a relatively quick creature stage playthrough. Tribal Stage (Industrious). I'll do the same as the previous stage. although I may have miscounted here or there: Combat: 6 Social: 6 Player tribe under attack: 5 (i mightve miscounted. Also this could EASILY be due to enemy tribes, aggressive wild animals, or an Epic. So this doesnt really say much about their route, I think.) Social/aggressive gameplay seems pretty evenly split, regardless of if i counted it right or not. Civilization Stage unfortunately doesn't have any of the religious/economic/military musical motifs. But if I had to guess based on this being Dancing Mad.... They probably did a Religious run. Also, a huge part of it is actually arranged in the style of the national anthems you can make! Which is REALLY cool, at least to me. Space Stage. Now this one tells a STORY. The player seems to immediately make a beeline for the center of the galaxy, wasting little time interacting with other space-farimg civilizations. Then they encounter the Grox, and without talking to them, the player's ally (probably from their own civilization) gets destroyed pretty much IMMEDIATELY. Then the player dies, and has to travel all the way back (maybe taking a wormhole there?. They rush through the Grox's massive empire and travel through the center of the galaxy. For archetypes, I'd assume since this is based on Kefka, the Space archetype would be either Zealot or Bard. Zealot is literally impossible if you take any blue routes (like having an industrious tribe), so Bard it is. This immediately narrows down what the Cell stage archetype was! To get the Bard archetype from Predator→Industrious→Religious, you HAVE to be an omnivore. So, the route here is most likely: Omnivore→Predator→Industrious→Religious→Bard
Actually you're right about the religious run on civ, it's literally using religious synths from the vehicle editor. So they did take religion. (Edit) I also believe that tribal was social not industrial, the combat could represent tribe raids which you'd have to fight back anyway to defend your hut. There are more social instruments present than the war horns. If it was combat they would of added more SFX related to it to make it an industrial run. (Like the weapons!) I really believe the path is: Carnivore - Predator - Friendly - Religious A Zealot! The only thing that doesn't make sense is the Discovery track being sampled, it's a trader, scientist and diplomat song heard in the coms. Which leads me to believe something incredible, this could be about the Grox who are also Zealots. There are loads of T0 planets heard too! So this is a cool possible theory...
@@NinjaMinkzx YES, it was! I adore that the Creature/Tribal/Civ (edit: NOT Space) stage music is full of motifs (and SFX in Space) implying what paths the player took. As someone who's whole childhood was Spore and it's spinoffs, this is practically one of best pieces alongside your original stuff and the mother 3 version of the joke. Brave on my little trumpeters!
The clever use of such a wide variety of Spore sounds was simply delightful. How the mix followed the stages of the game so subtly leading up to the Grox at the end- excellent work!

the idea to use the progessing ages for something like this is really cool

Ah, good ol' Spore. My favourite childhood game.
Can't wait for a spiritual successor, since EA can't make games right.
You might find Elysian Eclipse interesting! It's still very far from release but it feels the most like a successor to Spore out of everything

And if there is one made published by EA, I just hope that we don't go through another SecuRom incident.
Kefka truly did believe in survival of the fittest for his world, smiting creations not to his liking for the sake of chaos, just like playing Spore

Unique but welcome choice to start with Kefka’s Theme and then Dancing Mad!
It's probably to give each stage of the game a movement, even if kefka's theme isn't one of the original movements.
You have no idea how much a lifelong Spore fan needed something as ambitious and mind-blowing as this
You know, I've never played Final Fantasy 6, but I absolutely love the soundtrack!

If you like RPGs, the pixel remaster is worth checking out.
Best way to start a Dancing Mad rip……is with Kefka's other theme.
