Brian Burrer Live at Red Rocks was June 1983 small clubs weren't meant to be for long for this band-they are too good and too many people want to hear them.
Brian Burrer Songs got better with time though, so did the playing :p. Wish I was at te club set they did in New York as part of the Elevation tour promo. That had to be boiling hot. Good bootleg of the show exist and are probably on here somewhere :p.
Hello everybody. This is the first time I've ever entered a comment, so I'm a little unsure of myself. Well, here goes. First off, I'm 65 years old in 6 weeks, and I love music. I may not be hip enough to keep up on all the "new stuff" and up-n-coming bands, but I've listened to rock-n-roll since it started. In any case as far as U2 goes, there is NO other R&R band that even comes close to U2. Bruce Springtsteen, the Stones, none of them. U2 is THE premier band in the world. These guys fill 60-80-100,000 seat arenas, night after night. When I saw them in Wash.,D.C., at RFK stadium which seats about 60-70,000 I think, they had to add another show/day because of demand, and filled it up the next day. If you know anything about Wash.,D.C., it wasn't the DC residents that came, as their preference is more like R&B, or Rap music. The people came from Maryland and Virginia and other parts of the country. Complaints about the selection of songs and the power of the visuals/stage may be, with qualification, somewhat justified. As an old guy, I like to hear the hits, and if they want to interject some new stuff, that's fine. Most of the stages/lighting effects, and overall audio/visual has always been great to me. I feel the stage effects are always unique. You have to understand that they do have "their" sound. You can be driving down the street, and if a new U2 song came on the radio, which you never heard before, I'll bet, if you're a fan, you would say, "that's Bono" or "that's U2". They have gobs of very different music, not the so called hits, but there is a certain sound you can identify. OK. I'm done.U2 rules!!! p.s. as far as old stuff goes, Rattle n Hum is one FANTASTIC DVD, I enjoy to this day.
I was at this show. that particular trip to LA was something special. my family and I were in the pit, if you look closely you can see us, the ones with the Peruvian flag on the fence.
My first show this tour! My first ever GA U2!! Mid catwalk Northside rail w/ my daughter who had won tickets via Chegg/One! It was her first EVER U2 show!!! Goosebumps just thinking about it! Unforgettable! 4 shows down,10 to go! LA, Denver, Montreal, Chicago, Boston, NYC!!! Cannot get enough!!! #U2ieTour!!!
The one and only band in the world who change stadium and indoor concerts! no other band can do that.U2 is a fantastic band of brothers, 40 years and all band memebers are still in this fantastic band. Love you forever u2!
wow! thanks for sharing this. Fantastic. My wife and I have tickets for the last show at the Forum on Wednesday. I REALLY excited now. Even more after watching this.
Love this band...they always play like they have something to prove! They are truly amazing...I never tire of listening to them. I am looking forward to seeing them again in 2018...the new album is great! All the best to all of you U2 fans are the best.
What a fantastic great Show. Thanks a lot for this Video. Here in Germany U2 cames in two towns, Köln and Berlin. It's to far away for me. but this Video brings me the Feeling of U2 Concerts, like the 360° Tour in Hannover. Thanks a lot.
Those songs in millions of people's heads! Love it!! I saw them in Vancouver on May 14, and they were amazing. It was so great to see this, thanks again, nice work.
I love the way U2 gives props to the artists that influence them. One of those moments brought one of my daughters to tears when we were at a U2 show. Never forget those that got you where you are!
Long after they are gone from the planet the people will continue to hear their beautiful music by this greatest of bands.... U2 forever........ Mek Vox WOW A+
Thank you for sharing this! I didn't want to watch sooner because I didn't want to spoiled ahead of watching it myself in person (saw them at Madison Square Garden). Wish I was there again.
Feel guilty to watch this as I didn't pay for it, but I had my work hours reduced and am living hand to mouth at the moment. Would have gone but couldn't. Great concert and glad they are as good as ever.
Merci pour le partage de ce merveilleux concert, c'est un avant-gout pour paris!! un groupe toujours aussi formidable, juste un message pour bono : redevient brun pleassssse
Can't wait to go to their concert! Been a fan since I was born and I am going in October. The wanderer, beautiful day and song for someone were incredible!
I saw them in San Jose, my first time seeing U2. I'm mostly go to a lot of pop arena shows like Madonna, Gaga, Janet & Rihanna. But I was amused, and enjoyed the uniqueness and creativity of the set.
I am getting so hyped for Boston!!! This is going to be an awesome concert!!! They have so much energy, I love it! Can't wait to hear Boy songs live xoxo with the passion they had in 1981....goosebumps
Once again i was not able to reach any of these shows because of a car accident 5 years ago, my leg is hurting so bad i couldn't go within 4-5 miles my hometown and i just want to say GOOD LUCK to The Edge.
I've watched a lot of clips from this tour and while the sound and visuals are great I have a few nitpicks. The set seems boring and recycled from previous tours, same old stuff. It was refreshing to hear this song again, I'd like to see more variety in the setlist. Another nitpick - Movement, guys common you need to move. You've brought this huge stage and you're only using the full thing for half the songs. I know Bono has got a sore back but he can do other kinds of movements, the rest of the band also I think could also look more enthusiastic. Specifically referring to the last third of the show, they do alright in the first half. Bring back some cool stuff like Ultra Violet, Zooropa, Love is Blindness, Acrobat, Lemon, Please, Exit, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, Unforgettable Fire, a Sort of Homecoming. Come on guys think outside of the box.
Macconator2010 Seriously? You're making judgement on stage presence and use of the stage from you tube clips? This stage and setup are literally the length of the arena. Every member moves to every part of the stage during the show. Many times at opposite ends from one another. Go see the show and see if you think they are standing still. I'm not a crazed U2 fanatic but as a fan from the early days I was pretty happy with the setlist. Bad was played last night in Chicago and that made my night.
Tim Walsh I'm not saying they're not moving. I'm saying (Bono specifically) is not moving AS MUCH as previous tours. He can move more, I've seen him move more. This is coming from a crazed U2 fan that has seen a show from every live tour since Zoo TV, either by attendance or DVD. Granted he is recovering from a back injury. I've seen the full Innocence + Experience show as well, I know what I'm talking about.
Macconator2010 These songs, " Ultra Violet, Zooropa, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, and Unforgettable Fire were played during 360˚. I was happy seeing the new songs and a couple of songs were a surprise to me, like Angle of Harlem and a different version of Sunday Bloody Sunday.
I was there!!! South side, GA tickets, very close the Edge!!!
Awesome concert! Thanks for sharing!
You are so really lucky. I was 1992 when they were in Budapest. It was my best concert in my life.
This was my fourth concert. I saw ZooTV, Pop Mart, Vertigo Tour. I like them better and better with each album/tour. My Miracle Drug! :-)
Lol, they are not even mine! I'm so bad with braking sunglasses, I just get them from the 99 cent store!
Nelly Weini Me too! I was right next to the woman with the flowers & Dodger Elvis!
How much were tickets?
I saw them 13 February,1982; Austin, Texas....Small club and a wonderful night to see this band before they blew up and became mega-stars.
Brian Burrer Live at Red Rocks was June 1983 small clubs weren't meant to be for long for this band-they are too good and too many people want to hear them.

I attended this show. Absolutely amazing night. U2 rocked the foundation of The Forum. The LA crowd was out of control. What a night.

Macconator2010 Yeah I wish they would. I don't think they'll be playing Exit anytime soon though.
Brenner Plaehn Yea, most of my request is wishful thinking.
