I'm assuming you may have done the trip already but based on my experience backpacking in the Adirondacks, I would make a few changes. Since fires aren't allowed in the high peaks wilderness, I would advise ditching the saw and knife sharpener as well as taking a smaller knife since you don't need to process firewood. You could also ditch the chair and just use your bear can as a seat. I would take either the alcohol stove or the jetboil but not both. Also, regarding the bear can, you are not supposed to hang them. They are designed to keep bears out when placed on the ground. If it is hung from a tree, a bear can break the line and the canister will fall and crack open. Anyway, I hope you have a good time on the trip!

They also prefer you use one of the key locking canisters. Bear Vaults have been broken into there.

I enjoyed seeing your list of the items in your backpack and your pack weight
I am an 63 year old backpacker and still getting out there doing 2 to 4 night trips. I enjoy hiking in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area. It is not as rugged but has beautiful secluded ponds with great campsites. Thanks for sharing your information with us.
Never stop hiking and getting out in the wilderness. It is good for your overall.
    Cheers from the Adirondacks

That's awesome Bob, I seriously aim to be just like yourself. I had a health scare last year and one of my biggest concerns was it stealing my ability to do exactly what you're doing when I reach your age. Luckily it was just a scare. There are not many places I've found more peace in my life than on the trail. Cheers and thanks for watching.

Awesome video, I hope it was a great trip! I think you could shave a little weight (and more importantly, space) but putting the coffee supplies in ziplocking sandwhich baggies rather than tubberwear. It would probably even fit into your coffee cup!

You should check out kent rollins video on cowboys coffee....pretty much you boil the water then put coffee grounds in with it and boil a few more minutes....remove pot and pour a little cold water around the edge of it and all the coffee grounds WILL go to the bottom. Then you can pour out your coffee into a cup and clean the grounds out the bottom of the pan. Works like a dream and save a little weight and space. Also, if you wear a belt and its leather then you already have a knife sharpener that will more than do the trick on trail. Liking the new channel. Hope to see more vids like this. Take care
