There.s something even better to do than just the Transfagarasan. That is go up the Transalpina (similar road, better asphalt, not as good scenery), make a srop in Sibiu or somewhere closeby, then go up the Transfagarasan and when you come down make sure to take the road by Olt river, usually called the Olt Valley road. That.s 3 roads of amazing view in 2 days, a trip to remember
amazing road. i would have ran out of fuel mid way :D i just got mine i30n dct automatic 2 weeks ago and with sport setup im averaging 13+l/100km . did u refueled mid way :D? literaly your tank did not move at all it looks like
It is about 120km from Lukoil in the North to the Rompetrol in the South, so fuel should not be a problem. Also in i30N I am fueling about 5 liters more after fuel gun clicks and switches off (manually holding trigger). That’s why fuel indicator do not move for the first 50 km, because it is some sort of overfilling.
@@mn-onboards hey! Sorry man, thought you were Romanian. Was just saying how perfect the car was for the road and also asked why you were not using the paddles. But I think it.s a manual, I forgot you do the climbing part in 1 or 2 gears so you don.t need to shift that much and I think I did see you use the gear shifter a few times there :)...
@@mn-onboards Don’t mean to be too brash about it. It definitely is a beautiful road with great scenery/curves no question about it. Do you know if they will resurface the road any time? Sad to see a lot of rough patches but not too horrible. New pavement would go a long way but in that shape doesn’t look like would want to attack it too hard. Where is transalpina?
@@StirlingMossDrives I don't know about any road works. But I drove on Transalpina, it is in the same area, but less popular because mountains are not so high there compare to Transfagarasan, but the road itself from my opinion is much better. Surface is close to ideal I would say. Definitely recommend to visit. I have pov video on my channel, check it. ruclips.net/video/euC-CS02fhY/видео.htmlsi=jw1IiinWVvLrKy7t
Fantastic POV, I needed a full POV of the Transfagarasan with a sports car and a spirited drive with low traffiv and you did it ! Thank you

Road looks like in horrible condition. Far from best driving road in the world.
@@StirlingMossDrives Transalpina is much better in my opinion
