Love this track by track review. This might be my album of the year, its just such a step above the other top albums released this year. The second half especially its totally wild.
This album is an evolution from both Billie and Finneas. It is really good on the first listen but with each subsequent listen it just seems to unfurl itself more and more. I have a favorite song but I don’t listen as a single- because this album really is so much greater than just the sum of its parts. There are elements from the beginning like their sense of humor ( LUNCH following SKINNY) and the use of sounds and effects ( the car screech and lots of bass); and then the addition of dance/ house and Billie belting come out of HTE and then there’s the guitar songs, particularly The 30th, which are next level on lyrics PLUS delivery. Billie’s vocals are just phenomenal. I think that she’s more comfortable in her own skin ( irrespective of whether or not she lost weight or simply got into physical shape so she could perform her shows without suffering through the pain from repetitive injuries as in WWAFAWDWG tour). And. Finneas has entered another dimension with his production. I am in awe!

So glad they didn’t play the streaming game by making an album with 20 songs on it - just kept it to 10 and made them the best they could be. Can’t wait for finneas’ solo album - he’s teasing new songs from it soon!
