I think the problem with the 100 years of the US is that everyone's experiences were sooo different (depending on race, religion, gender, family, etc etc) and US is so huge that showing the NYC lifestyle is completely different from LA to SF to Miami to the very country sides.
Korea was the equivalent of those countries you see in those ads where somebody asks you to sponsor a child for a good part of the 20th century. Americans, regardless of race, were richer in the vast majority of cases. And it wasn't just big cities. I have family photos from the 20's/30's and they had cars. Those family members weren't rich; they probably weren't even what you'd call middle class. They were farmers.
People should do like.. Midwest and south, that kind of thing. Since like, growing up in the Midwest feels very small, and I assume near the coast has nice houses and such.
how can American 1960's be brought up without all the civil rights, riots, protests, teen age , everything revolutionary - they only showed the top class people rather than a general image / representation Edit: To those who feel that I'm discrediting the societal issues of Korea - the main point is that Korea's side wasn't just presented on the high class private school going side of the nation - it a had a variation of events. The only side shown on the U.S was the high class, rich areas, there was no variation or change: all I saw were grey buildings tbh. Comparing the devastation Korea faced next to only the sunny side of America seems unjust personally.
I'm not trying to criticize the video, but I just feel like if they have to show the worst of Korea, they should show the worst of the U.S. as well - as it only showed they best, wealthy side of it.

America wasn't that prosperous in all place, the reality for black Americans was completely different and was also quite a come up, though we are still working on equity till this day. Foreigners tend to forget we have been here for 100s of years.
And there were and still are plenty of VERY poor whites in Appalachia and other regions of the us. Even so, all Americans have benefited from american prosperity all though to different degrees.

The benefit for people of color is VERY recent and still needs work to benefit everyone. The system wasn't made to benefit everyone especially black americans and the indigenous people of america. Though some Americans are fine with the way things are, many aren't.

The reason Korea advanced so quickly is because there was heavy investment from the US to make sure that they could hold their own against Communism in the North. America invested BILLIONS into Korea.
The pace at which South Korea has grown is incredible.. they may not be in the space race .. but damned the economic and developmental growth is soaring like a rocket. Another awesome episode!
South Koreas rapid development is due largely in part to heavy investment from the US, to make sure that North Korea did not have the capabilities to try and take the south in the future. Yes its impressive but, I think that Koreans should know that the real reason their economy and infrastructure grew so fast is because America fed them $$$ in order to keep Communism at bay. Similar thing that the US did with Israel after WW2.
@@razatiger22 it was never just the US.. it was a loan called the IMF ( international monetary fund ) ..the largest bailout package in history.. which thru an incredible act. The South Korean people came together in a moving act of unity and actually paid that loan in full on August 2001.. nearly 3yrs ahead of schedule. No one's saying the US didn't help.. but they weren't solely responsible. Just giving props to the fighting spirit of a people who deserve the recognition. 😊

Although I like seeing America in a good light, I'd love if they showed the bad parts too. We don't live in a big movie/party, many have/are suffering.
And suffering and triumph only has any significance when contrasted with protracted suffering, discrimination, and setbacks. That's why their hearts swelled and they felt appreciative towards the end. They all realized indepdently that South Korea as it exists now was built upon years of people living through sheer misery for uncounted years. That many people never lived to see what their country would become, what their work would render. Seeing our country only being portrayed by a tiny slice of the population in each era, the most well off, made the advances and improvements seem unearned.
@@RicochetForce They lived in a homogenous uncolonized society. In the end, they can be proud because things have changed, and they made it change. In the USA, it's a melting pot due to colonialism and forced dominance, as well as Manifest Destiny. While on the outside it has changed, much of the hardships on the inside have not because the colonizers would rather ignore it to spare their own feelings than address and come to diplomatic agreements that actually work for people they disenfranchised.
As a Korean-American, I like that America is a superpower and that my home country is catching up. Our history had dark moments, but it's a reminder of where we came from.
Exactly too much happened in the 60s to just brush over all of them, there was a whole cold war protesters were being killed over not mentioned as well. Also they might as well had shown the same clip in the last few because all I saw was people walking and loads of buildings rather that key events
@@kthevsamig4958 the civil rights movement was a great part and one of the more memorable part of the 60s. It was a movement that is still relevant today. The diversity that exists now might have not been the same as back in your days but it was present. A fair representation of the US would include different perspectives and the bigger events that happened as well.

The Korean history seems to have a fuller, more nuanced story-which makes sense for you guys to tell your country’s story well-but comparing it to America and excluding experiences of POC, segregation, the Civil Rights era (it’s black history month, which would’ve been a great opportunity for you guys), the Japanese concentration camps (not to excuse the Japanese colonizing Korea), and the Vietnam War but telling it from the white upper class perspective as consistently perfect is just really disappointing. I didn’t recognize my own country’s history at all.
I think tradition and history are made by you present Americans. Too much toxic segregation politics are spread both in Korea and USA. Off course, we should mention wrong stuffs and fix those for the future but we should not give up our hope for peaceful states. I hope somehow we can find ways to remember our sad parts histories in more meaningful and brave mind.
I remember in history class learning about how countries that industrialized later than others were actually modernized quicker because it's easier to copy & improve on machines than to invent from scratch & also mass production meant technology became cheaper over time so all a country needs is to generate wealth from agriculture/ whatever speciality they had & then industrializing is easier, so that would perhaps explain S. Korea's rapid development.
I really hope people don't think most Americans see this and think we are superior or proud of our advancements. This is just the filmed bright, rich, and prosperous side of the country they wanted the world to see. In reality there was a lot of poverty, divisions, racism, sexism, and violence going on.

I just know it has its own problems and there is the stereotype of Americans thinking they are better than everyone and we are always the best. I was just trying to show some humility and humbleness.
So to touch on what the guy on the left said about America not throwing away the old stuff. Before COVID happened there was a big thing going on in the U.S. where rich people want to tear down old or “lower class” areas of cities to build new structures (gentrification). It’s basically pushing low income people out of their neighborhoods and they have nowhere to go. I think with people in their 30s and 40s (age) we also have a feeling to keep some of the old buildings, etc. if everything is new then you lose something of the past. I’m sure it’s a problem in a lot of countries.

I just want to say this: although there is clear advancement of technology in and around cities in the US, the middle and rural parts of the US looked totally different. My parents both grew up in poverty during the 1960’s and 70’s, and my grandparents grew up mostly dirt poor as well. The US likes to show a good face in movies and tv shows, but it looked very different in reality (not to mention the 1920’s and 30’s had the largest economic crisis the US had ever experienced). South Korea is incredibly remarkable, though, in regards to development and advancement. I’m hoping it’s reaching its stable, golden age soon too.

My brother in law was born and raised in seoul South Korea I love Korean culture and food and I love their respect for elders and I can keep going. I'm so proud we helped south Korea in the 50s and am super proud of my brother in laws heritage. one day my dream is to visit South Korea and I love everything about Korean culture! They were very right while the US prospered every one got comfortable meanwhile South Korea developed so quick and in my opinion it won't be long before technically they will be ahead of us because we've grown so comfortable.....

Everyone believed and still believe that the US is a happy place for everyone to live in because the US always put out these propaganda videos to the whole world. Excuse me? At no point in this video did they show the worst of Korea. They only showed the upper classes of both nations through the entire video. The thing is, conflict in the US within the past 100 years never really affected the upper classes very much, whereas in Korea, the upper class was always changing since the late 1800s. The parts shown during Japanese occupation were definitely only the pro-Japanese upper class. The parts during the Korean war were a time where there was no upper class. This video leaves out so much Korean conflict (mass rape and genocide from Japan, destruction of Korean culture/art/architecture/language by Japan, 8 government changes from 1945-1985, etc.) and American conflict (racism, great depression, human rights movements, etc.), it is here only to show the best sides of the nations.

When I learnt how close Seoul was to the North Korean border I was shocked and confused initially, It's the most populated city and directly in range of NK's artillery, they could literally barrage Seoul. i think many people are forgetting that for the videos of korea, most of them are portraying the upper classes only as well. they are showing yangban class. it looks like they are showing the bad sides of korea and good sides for america when in reality that was literallt videos of the highest class at that time in korea. i also want people saying that its bad that they dont know about americas whole history to take a perspective in a koreans shoes. theres AMERICANS who are still not knowledged about certain topics in history due to it being covered up, its not a mystery as to why koreans who live in a super homogenous country wouldnt know abt american history. if i sat americans down to list the history if korea and the other asian histories theyd most likely be unable to. because america does not teach a lot of asian history. this is very similar. america is not the center of the world. every where is similar in the fact that if it is not their own countries history, its not learned about. also in the videos of korea, they are missing a lot of historical parts as well. i think this video is supposed to be showing the differences between korea and america in terms of technology. such as planes, cars, trains while korea was more poor AS A WHOLE. please feel free to discuss! :•)
I think most people realize that they wouldn't know about American history. However, they are hoping that before they do these types of videos, they do a bit more research in the future so they don't give the wrong impression to people about the USA.
Let me give my two cents. At first I ( as a none American ) was thinking/feeling the same way as many of you ( in the comment section ) have but then I took a step back and told myself that, this is not a video depicting the HISTORY of the USA/Korea but just a video depicting the evolution of 100 years off of it ( 1920-2020 ). As we can also see them not showing the wars and brutality that took place in Korea during those 100 years shown. It would have been great see them mentioning... IDK: not everybody had it great... something along those lines. It's just a video detailing the lifestyle/financial rise/evolution of both countries and not the history of both countries. Meaning not the people but the country. But it would be interesting to see them do a video on The black side of USA. Of course Asians Natives Latin/Hispanic sides too. We have to learn to take a step back and process, analyse what we see before reacting to it. And let's not act as if many of y'all ever cared about history being 100% depicted. But it's cute to see everybody care now.

My father grew up in a rural community in the 50's and 60's. He has 6 sisters. Everyone worked in my grandfather's garbage collection business. They had dirt roads and walked a mile to the neighbors for tv. I grew up in a city in the 70's and 80's and we had all the luxuries (tv,car,phone etc) even though we were poor (our meals were not regular, hence poor by American standards).
As a foreigner I gotta say that is not their fault. This is the image America has been trying so hard to push to the rest of the world for the least 100 years. The land of the free, the rich perfect super power with some minor flaws but in recent years thanks to the internet we all are more aware of the real history. So please instead of shaming non americans for not knowing, educate. Americans literally don't know shit about other countries and we don't make a fuss. And I gotta say that that is very american, the 'you gotta know our history and culture but we don't need to know anything about yours' and not just white americans, all americans in general. I understand completely that not everyone will know about American history but those two men are known throughout the world, especially MLK. Almost any video from America’s 1960s mention the civil rights movement because it’s so monumental to history.
This video was focused on showing the progress of the two countries in a very limited format. This is a job well done. As someone that grew up in an area of poverty and needed public assistance, I see no issue with this video.
Guys, why give the channel a hard time, the video was barely a "summary" of what a few decades kinda looked in America. How could they have possibly brought up everything in a few mins? Wasn't the quick point about industrialization of both countries anyways?
So if it's a quick summary about Korea and America's industrialization, why didn't they show the great depression? That is a significant key point. They brought up key points like poverty, war, and colonization for Korea but glossed over everything major happening in America that relates to it's economic and industrial growth. America went to war in June 1950 in defense of South Korea. In 1960 South Korea went from being a poor country like North Korea to what they are now. It's amazing what they accomplished in such a short time, they are very smart, well respected and wealthy. This is why American soldiers fight for the freedom of others. 39000 Americans died in the Korean war, Freedom isn't free, it's priceless.
Yeah America had plenty of problems during those times besides a certain “extremely obvious one” (especially during the 60’s) but these videos showed none of them, only the Good parts that were only good for a certain group of people.
They're removing a ton of things in Thailand too, especially in Bangkok, taking down hundred years old communities along Bangkok's old canals (a lot of which have been cemented over to build new roads) and old historical buildings (preserving only the old palaces and temples), in order to build skyscrapers and large shopping malls that has dramatically changed the Bangkok skyline. I'm pretty sure it's starting to catch up to the rest of Thailand too (but only in the big cities for now).
Um it wasn't golden for 20 percent (5 million) of Koreans to get decimated in my parents' generation either. I suggest you learn something about Korean history from this cross-cultural video considering Koreans and the entire world learn about basic American history including the atrocities against Native American and black Americans and MLK. These kids aren't stupid. Anyone outside of America who watches this video knows that there was obviously a lot of poverty, inequality, and injustice despite how rich some people were. The difference is that you couldn't see one person like this in Korea while it wasn't that heard to witness in America, regardless of how wide the rich poor gap was. The video showed the richest of America AND the richest of Korea. So unless 20% of US population (30 million) was killed during the same time, please stop making this about America yet again, and learn something about what y'all censored in your textbooks.

There are many people criticizing how they only included “the good parts” of America. The video focused on showing us the difference in development between Korea and USA, and while that might not be how every American lived back than it’s pretty accurate for a large chunk and shows how widespread the technology was, especially compared to Korea which basically had none of it. Also, when comparing growth and development, sorry to you Americans, but this is how most of the world sees it. From the comment section, this video did not impress the masses and I really hope the producers take this opportunity to use their platform to teach and show those in Black History or discuss life for African Americans. Great discussions in the comments makes me wish you guys would go much deeper on the topic. America is a very diverse country, and continually changing. There have been many experiences here in America and as mentioned in the comments not all positive. It's hard to compare the two countries since U.S. is so much larger and so much more diverse. We have older structures because we can build out instead of build over, but this also leads to aging infrastructure. South Korea has the fastest internet in the world where as many rural American communities today still don't have internet. It's kind of like comparing apples to watermelons but ignoring the seeds and the pits.

The Kim Sisters (along with their brothers and mother later) were extremely popular in the U.S. during the 50's and 60's because soldiers remembered them from USO concerts during the war ... they were on many TV shows and sold many albums ... you might say they were actually the first KPop Girl Group to conquer the U.S. because at the time their music was considered "popular" music. they part that really sucks about this is that it only showed 'rich white america'... not what disenfranchised was living like. The 40's clip in particular... That was around when the US was locking up their own citizens because of their race, and stripping them of all their land and possessions. The continual mistreatment of Natives, Blacks, and other POC as well. The US really has a darker side that never gets looked at in these kinds of reaction videos.
You guys showed one very specific side of America here. While the Japanese were colonizing Korea, the US had already spent 200 years colonizing and subjugating indigenous peoples and African Americans.
I think the problem with the 100 years of the US is that everyone's experiences were sooo different (depending on race, religion, gender, family, etc etc) and US is so huge that showing the NYC lifestyle is completely different from LA to SF to Miami to the very country sides.

Korea was the equivalent of those countries you see in those ads where somebody asks you to sponsor a child for a good part of the 20th century. Americans, regardless of race, were richer in the vast majority of cases. And it wasn't just big cities. I have family photos from the 20's/30's and they had cars. Those family members weren't rich; they probably weren't even what you'd call middle class. They were farmers.
People should do like.. Midwest and south, that kind of thing. Since like, growing up in the Midwest feels very small, and I assume near the coast has nice houses and such.

The only side shown on the U.S was the high class, rich areas, there was no variation or change: all I saw were grey buildings tbh. America wasn't that prosperous in all place, the reality for black Americans was completely different and was also quite a come up, though we are still working on equity till this day. Foreigners tend to forget we have been here for 100s of years.
And there were and still are plenty of VERY poor whites in Appalachia and other regions of the us. Even so, all Americans have benefited from american prosperity all though to different degrees.

The reason Korea advanced so quickly is because there was heavy investment from the US to make sure that they could hold their own against Communism in the North. America invested BILLIONS into Korea.

South Koreas rapid development is due largely in part to heavy investment from the US, to make sure that North Korea did not have the capabilities to try and take the south in the future. Yes its impressive but, I think that Koreans should know that the real reason their economy and infrastructure grew so fast is because America fed them $$$ in order to keep Communism at bay.

The South Korean people came together in a moving act of unity and actually paid that loan in full on August 2001.. nearly 3yrs ahead of schedule. No one's saying the US didn't help.. but they weren't solely responsible. Just giving props to the fighting spirit of a people who deserve the recognition. 😊

Although I like seeing America in a good light, I'd love if they showed the bad parts too. We don't live in a big movie/party, many have/are suffering.
And suffering and triumph only has any significance when contrasted with protracted suffering, discrimination, and setbacks. That's why their hearts swelled and they felt appreciative towards the end. They all realized indepdently that South Korea as it exists now was built upon years of people living through sheer misery for uncounted years. That many people never lived to see what their country would become, what their work would render.
Seeing our country only being portrayed by a tiny slice of the population in each era, the most well off, made the advances and improvements seem unearned.
@@RicochetForce They lived in a homogenous uncolonized society. In the end, they can be proud because things have changed, and they made it change. In the USA, it's a melting pot due to colonialism and forced dominance, as well as Manifest Destiny. While on the outside it has changed, much of the hardships on the inside have not because the colonizers would rather ignore it to spare their own feelings than address and come to diplomatic agreements that actually work for people they disenfranchised.
As a Korean-American, I like that America is a superpower and that my home country is catching up. Our history had dark moments, but it's a reminder of where we came from.

The diversity that exists now might have not been the same as back in your days but it was present. The Korean history seems to have a fuller, more nuanced story-which makes sense for you guys to tell your country’s story well-but comparing it to America and excluding experiences of POC, segregation, the Civil Rights era (it’s black history month, which would’ve been a great opportunity for you guys), the Japanese concentration camps (not to excuse the Japanese colonizing Korea), and the Vietnam War but telling it from the white upper class perspective as consistently perfect is just really disappointing. I didn’t recognize my own country’s history at all.
I think tradition and history are made by you present Americans. Too much toxic segregation politics are spread both in Korea and USA. Off course, we should mention wrong stuffs and fix those for the future but we should not give up our hope for peaceful states. I hope somehow we can find ways to remember our sad parts histories in more meaningful and brave mind.

I remember in history class learning about how countries that industrialized later than others were actually modernized quicker because it's easier to copy & improve on machines than to invent from scratch & also mass production meant technology became cheaper over time so all a country needs is to generate wealth from agriculture/ whatever speciality they had & then industrializing is easier, so that would perhaps explain S. Korea's rapid development.
I really hope people don't think most Americans see this and think we are superior or proud of our advancements. This is just the filmed bright, rich, and prosperous side of the country they wanted the world to see. In reality there was a lot of poverty, divisions, racism, sexism, and violence going on.

So to touch on what the guy on the left said about America not throwing away the old stuff. Before COVID happened there was a big thing going on in the U.S. where rich people want to tear down old or “lower class” areas of cities to build new structures (gentrification). It’s basically pushing low income people out of their neighborhoods and they have nowhere to go. I think with people in their 30s and 40s (age) we also have a feeling to keep some of the old buildings, etc. if everything is new then you lose something of the past. I’m sure it’s a problem in a lot of countries.

Especially since they all are of white people and not including an ounce of Native American/Hispanic/Black/Asian history and their perspectives. I just want to say this: although there is clear advancement of technology in and around cities in the US, the middle and rural parts of the US looked totally different. My parents both grew up in poverty during the 1960’s and 70’s, and my grandparents grew up mostly dirt poor as well. The US likes to show a good face in movies and tv shows, but it looked very different in reality (not to mention the 1920’s and 30’s had the largest economic crisis the US had ever experienced).
South Korea is incredibly remarkable, though, in regards to development and advancement. I’m hoping it’s reaching its stable, golden age soon too.

My brother in law was born and raised in seoul South Korea I love Korean culture and food and I love their respect for elders and I can keep going. I'm so proud we helped south Korea in the 50s and am super proud of my brother in laws heritage. one day my dream is to visit South Korea and I love everything about Korean culture! They were very right while the US prospered every one got comfortable meanwhile South Korea developed so quick and in my opinion it won't be long before technically they will be ahead of us because we've grown so comfortable.....

One of the girls did mention that they know America also had its downs, like the Great Depression. Also, can you blame them? Everyone believed and still believe that the US is a happy place for everyone to live in because the US always put out these propaganda videos to the whole world. Especially during the period of time you mentioned. The US was hell for anyone who wasn’t white a hundred years ago. And they can’t just redo this video from scratch. It takes too much time to edit and find time to have these people react. Maybe suggest a separate video to show the reality of US during the civil war, segregation, WWll, etc.

Excuse me? At no point in this video did they show the worst of Korea. They only showed the upper classes of both nations through the entire video. The thing is, conflict in the US within the past 100 years never really affected the upper classes very much, whereas in Korea, the upper class was always changing since the late 1800s. The parts shown during Japanese occupation were definitely only the pro-Japanese upper class. The parts during the Korean war were a time where there was no upper class. This video leaves out so much Korean conflict (mass rape and genocide from Japan, destruction of Korean culture/art/architecture/language by Japan, 8 government changes from 1945-1985, etc.) and American conflict (racism, great depression, human rights movements, etc.), it is here only to show the best sides of the nations.
Koreans should be very proud of what they accomplished. The progress that was made in such a short time is amazing and speaks to the character and hard-work of the Korean people. Much respect from the U.S. 🧡🧡🧡

I think most people realize that they wouldn't know about American history. However, they are hoping that before they do these types of videos, they do a bit more research in the future so they don't give the wrong impression to people about the USA.
Let me give my two cents.
At first I ( as a none American ) was thinking/feeling the same way as many of you ( in the comment section ) have but then I took a step back and told myself that, this is not a video depicting the HISTORY of the USA/Korea but just a video depicting the evolution of 100 years off of it
( 1920-2020 ).
As we can also see them not showing the wars and brutality that took place in Korea during those 100 years shown.
It would have been great see them mentioning... IDK: not everybody had it great... something along those lines.
It's just a video detailing the lifestyle/financial rise/evolution of both countries and not the history of both countries.
Meaning not the people but the country.
But it would be interesting to see them do a video on The black side of USA. Of course Asians Natives Latin/Hispanic sides too.
We have to learn to take a step back and process, analyse what we see before reacting to it.
And let's not act as if many of y'all ever cared about history being 100% depicted. But it's cute to see everybody care now.

My father grew up in a rural community in the 50's and 60's. He has 6 sisters. Everyone worked in my grandfather's garbage collection business. They had dirt roads and walked a mile to the neighbors for tv. I grew up in a city in the 70's and 80's and we had all the luxuries (tv,car,phone etc) even though we were poor (our meals were not regular, hence poor by American standards).

I understand completely that not everyone will know about American history but those two men are known throughout the world, especially MLK. Almost any video from America’s 1960s mention the civil rights movement because it’s so monumental to history.
This video was focused on showing the progress of the two countries in a very limited format. This is a job well done. As someone that grew up in an area of poverty and needed public assistance, I see no issue with this video.

So if it's a quick summary about Korea and America's industrialization, why didn't they show the great depression? That is a significant key point. They brought up key points like poverty, war, and colonization for Korea but glossed over everything major happening in America that relates to it's economic and industrial growth. America went to war in June 1950 in defense of South Korea. In 1960 South Korea went from being a poor country like North Korea to what they are now. It's amazing what they accomplished in such a short time, they are very smart, well respected and wealthy. This is why American soldiers fight for the freedom of others. 39000 Americans died in the Korean war,
Freedom isn't free, it's priceless.
Yeah America had plenty of problems during those times besides a certain “extremely obvious one” (especially during the 60’s) but these videos showed none of them, only the Good parts that were only good for a certain group of people.
They're removing a ton of things in Thailand too, especially in Bangkok, taking down hundred years old communities along Bangkok's old canals (a lot of which have been cemented over to build new roads) and old historical buildings (preserving only the old palaces and temples), in order to build skyscrapers and large shopping malls that has dramatically changed the Bangkok skyline. I'm pretty sure it's starting to catch up to the rest of Thailand too (but only in the big cities for now).

There are many people criticizing how they only included “the good parts” of America. The video focused on showing us the difference in development between Korea and USA, and while that might not be how every American lived back than it’s pretty accurate for a large chunk and shows how widespread the technology was, especially compared to Korea which basically had none of it. Also, when comparing growth and development, sorry to you Americans, but this is how most of the world sees it. We are aware that there were issues and life for people of minorities was much different and racism was incredibly prevalent but when just thinking of “what America looked like in *blank* period, this is the picture to pop up to most people, especially when comparing economic development between countries cuz back the America was far ahead the rest of the world

There is so many more natural resources in America and so the opportunity to advance is unfair compared to Korea. From the comment section, this video did not impress the masses and I really hope the producers take this opportunity to use their platform to teach and show those in Black History or discuss life for African Americans. Do 100years of POC in the US. The most I have seen from these Korean channels when it comes to African Americans is them reacting to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B or Beyonce and it is never their best work that is shown.
Great discussions in the comments makes me wish you guys would go much deeper on the topic. America is a very diverse country, and continually changing. There have been many experiences here in America and as mentioned in the comments not all positive. It's hard to compare the two countries since U.S. is so much larger and so much more diverse. We have older structures because we can build out instead of build over, but this also leads to aging infrastructure. South Korea has the fastest internet in the world where as many rural American communities today still don't have internet. It's kind of like comparing apples to watermelons but ignoring the seeds and the pits.

Tell the ladies we did have Korean Entertainers in the 50's come to the U.S. .. The Kim Sisters (along with their brothers and mother later) were extremely popular in the U.S. during the 50's and 60's because soldiers remembered them from USO concerts during the war ... they were on many TV shows and sold many albums ... you might say they were actually the first KPop Girl Group to conquer the U.S. because at the time their music was considered "popular" music. That was around when the US was locking up their own citizens because of their race, and stripping them of all their land and possessions.
