    They did the “one time courtesy” replacement for gunthot’s when their bcm barrel was jacked up too. If a company sends you a busted product it shouldn’t be a courtesy to replace it. They should just replace it to keep a good reputation.

      That's very confusing. It seems like giving pushback would do way more damage than the amount a company would have to spend to replace a part or gun. But I don't know the story about what you speak of.

      I agree. I bought a new Sig p365 and it had a dead front night sight I discovered qualifying at night one month after purchase. I called Sig and they were turds. I asked to borrow a slide until they could get mine and repair. They quoted 4-6 months turn around. This was being used as a backup off duty. They said no. I even told them to let me pay for a slide then they reimburse me when I return it. They said they were doing me a favor giving me a front sight. B*tch I paid for a working sight. I am selling off my sigs. No more crap from a company with no QC.

    I recently purchased a complete BCM 11.5 BFH upper. Long story short, I determined the gas port was out of spec on the barrel and was extremely over gassed (non suppressed). I tried everything to remedy the issue including H3 buffers and a variety of buffer springs. I ended up getting ahold of BCM and they advised me to send the upper in for inspection. After about a month, they emailed me stating that they have not had time to inspect it yet. Instead of inspecting the barrel, they replaced it with a brand new 11.5 barrel and test fired it for function. They sent it back and I’ve had no issues since. In MY experience, BCM was good to go with customer service and I’ve owned several BCM uppers with no problems outside of normal wear and tear that comes with a harsh firing schedules.

    I've been running BCM for years, never an issue with them (also run LWRC M6 DI and LMT as well), one with over 30,000 rounds original. One thing to point out is that it is a MUST to check the bore/brake/suppressor alignment before firing the first round and periodically check that alignment with the proper alignment tool. Also, too many make the FUDD mistake of not understanding that firing sustained bursts with a suppressed AR DI platform is going to produce major heat buildup that will move backwards into the barrel, gas tube-BCG, and receiver. This can and will cause serious barrel and gas tube erosion and do so in a low round count even with the highest grade barrels and it matters not that the barrel and suppressor are full auto rated, those are two separate things. And yes, barrel cracks can occur and worse, the receivers can be warped by the excessive heat. Full Auto Suppressed in an AR platform is best left to piston uppers BUT even then, there are still limitations.

    • @Costanza2014
      @Costanza2014 4 месяца назад +1

      I am reading your post a year later and still today I believe the issues experienced are related to rate of fire in a suppressed state. The amount of heat within just a 250 rounds causes "Less Expensive" barrels to fail. So BCM running 6k rounds seems pretty well worth the $1500 price point in my opinion. The heat caused be suppression is one reason I do not run suppressed.

Just the thought that “by chance” my rifle is functioning or to constantly wonder if the long intervals between each shot is long enough to avoid going over the ridiculous 12-15 rpm would create a next level kind of worry. I do own a bcm lower which I purchased a while back in Ca during a panic period which I tried to complete a couple of years back by ordering one of their mcmr uppers and for a silly shipping address change I experienced poor customer service and immediately felt that this BCM is not a company I want go deal with. I had a very poor experience with them. Was having some insane gassing issues. Originally had an MCMR 11.5” ELW carbine-length gas system. The lower I was using had been tuned to get about 3:30 ejection pattern. Decided I would like a 14.5” version of the same upper, but with a midlength gas system. Put that new upper on that same lower and started getting 1:30 ejections. Practically straight forward. Waaaaay over gassed. It was inconsistent and mostly severely over gassed.
    Now, I’m no noob. I do troubleshooting for a lot of people and diagnose what’s going on with their weapon systems. I do my due diligence because I can’t stand when a company tries to say “user error.” This means lots of different testing ammo, different buffer weights. So, I video record exactly what was happening at the range. Say that I installed an extra tungsten weight and it had no effect whatsoever on the ejection pattern. They told me to send it in. After a couple weeks they send it back saying that they didn’t encounter any issues. And that I shouldn’t be using a JP SCS buffer system. Only mil-spec. 🤷‍♂️ 🤣 so basically, that their guns won’t work with aftermarket parts.
    When I get the upper back, I had ZERO gassing issues and had a consistent ejection pattern… with the same ammo, and the same lower… 🤔 only to see that the barrel and gas block/tube had been replaced! 🤣 So they didn’t encounter issues, but replaced parts. Gee, I think that makes a whole lot of sense.
    BCM is unwilling to back their products or admit that something may be wrong with them. Recalls happen all the time. At least your customers see that you want to make sure they only have high quality products. But, instead, you treat customers like shit and like they’re idiots, and you LIE to them. Great way to do business.

    I have a BCM BHF upper from like 2009 and where the dimpled the barrel for the gas block rusted straight through. This was my late veteran husband's favorite rifle that was going to be passed down to his son. BCM would not help with the issue and when sent back I never recieved it. I expected much more from BCM.

    I also have had issues with BCM’s quality on a 16” upper. During inspection I found the locking lugs on the barrel extension were chipped and damaged. After contacting BCM customer service they asked me to send photos which I did I was told to return it to them for warranty. After about 10 days after they received it I sent them an email to inquire about when I could expect to get a different upper. They said they would expedite the order and get it out in 2-3 days. After receiving the upper on inspection I found they repaired the barrel but didn’t install the hand guard end cap (I could have fixed this myself but at this point I was done with BCM). I asked and received a refund on the upper and picked up a couple Rock River barrels good to go now.

    I can speak to the amazing customer service of Daniel Defense. I went and bought a DDM4V7 from a LGS and when I get it home I find a massive problem inside the rifle that only became obvious after dry firing about 75 times. I contacted Daniel Defense who said to send it in, the problem was the only reason I purchased this rifle was my family and I had a class we all planned to take together and I was lending my rifles out to my family but needed one more for my brother so I purchased the Daniel Defense. Upon explaining this to Daniel Defense they called the LGS I had purchased from and arranged for me to bring back the DDM4V7 and swap it out. The LGS only had a mk12 or M4A1 left as far as Daniel Defense rifles, so I got the M4A1 paid the very minor difference in price and walked out w a perfectly working DDM4A1. I’ve never heard of or seen another company do something like that in my life so in my opinion and experience Daniel Defense has the best customer service.

    I'm late to the "wtf is BCM doing?" party but the Army publication BCM is quoting is TC 3-22.9 and the paragraph says that the slow fire is for the qualification range. The very next paragraph covers rate of fire in an actual fight:
    "RAPID SEMIAUTOMATIC FIRE
    8-19. Rapid semiautomatic fire is approximately 45 rounds per minute and is typically
    used for multiple targets or combat scenarios where the Soldier does not have overmatch
    of the threat. Soldiers should be well-trained in all aspects of slow semiautomatic firing
    before attempting any rapid semiautomatic fire training."
    This matches pretty well with shooting controlled pairs at a pretty rapid cadence.
    BCM isn't saying "Hey, heat can damage components if you abuse things," and "Let your rifle cool between cycles of fire." They specify in the emails that their barrels will fall apart fired above 12-15 rounds period. Full stop. Do not pass 15 RPM. Pretty pathetic that a company making "professional equipment" can't keep up with basic professional requirements.

    • @nickpowell7432
      @nickpowell7432 2 года назад

      But the thing is it says indefinitely it doesn’t say you can’t fire above 15 that’s an indefinite number so if you use it for 30 minutes at a higher rate of fire it’s not gonna hurt it this is what people are missing here. I’m not showing for BCM from what I can tell her quality control may have fallen off but everybody’s getting hung up on the wrong details

    This is measurably, a VERY honest reflection and viewpoint. I'm Retired Military and I can tell you I have NEVER heard of the 'Army TM' (Likely Technical Manual) for shooting 12-15 RPM... NEVER have I ever heard of that being a cornerstone especially in the 24 years of weapons qualifications and usage. If this is EVEN remotely accurate on behalf of BCM, I'm shocked. I purchased my first BCM just yesterday (March 2024) and have never heard of these issues prior to my purchase. I know of NO Barrel or other manufacture that states 'optimal cadence is 12-15 RPM' and honestly, I rebuke that. You can't be in this business and expect that 'cadence' to be a realistic and militaristic expectation. I really would love to hear BCM reply to this...

That 12-15 rpm is for sustained ROF but the "semi-automatic" ROF is 45 to 60. I could be wrong about this but originally M16A2s were rated for 85 rpm sustained despite the Army manuals. This time they wanted to refund me on the lower without the tax or DROS fee I had to pay. I told them no and to ship it back to me. After this it took me almost a week to get my lower back because they were only emailing me once a day between 10a-12p.
