Forest Road Brewing keeping it simple but in the best way possible! I’d happily sample all of the brews they had on (maybe not the cider 😂) I’m interested in the Howling Hops beer, I wonder if it would be too sweet for me. Also how did you get on with the boiled egg? 😂😂 I’d also give the vegan milk stout a try but I imagine without the real “lactose” it won’t have the same flavours but you done well to find that!!
Cool little spot Forest Road, I’d much rather the plain over some beer names these days 😂. I wouldn’t listen to me on lager - I’m completely biased - on a sunny day I’d bet it’d be really good. I failed horrendously on the egg, was still going after 30 seconds your man must have hoovered it up at 1.5! Thin but very flavourful the buttons number, I’d have it as a porter but imagine they would sell less? I’ll be doing an Oyster Stout soon which uses real Oysters so one extreme to another! 🍻
I’d definitely had enough by then Mr B 😂, too much chatting away too! Well impressed with Hackney Church but Saint Monday ESB was beer to the day easily 🍻
Best it’s a personal gong Don 😂 - that ESB was a cracker. Wish I could have explained it a bit better but was really surprised by it! Great pub too. Edged out Covenant as beer of the day as best bitters can be a let down these days! 🍻
Ah love a pickled egg but blimey less than 2 seconds , wow. 😮. Nowt WONG with Hackney for brewery n beer choice although seems in London u can't get a pint for less than £6 which is worrying..u did look at home in the COCK Tavern😂😂, excellent 👏
Morning Dave - I know that egg must have been hoovered up 😂. It was odd that the session beers were almost the same price as the IPAs / Stouts but they are still creeping up. Good crowd out though so hopefully keeping them going. I’m off to Lisbon this weekend so will compare with over the water 🍻

Great day out! All good sounding beers, my favourite would probably be the ESB or the Covenant 😋 (I was getting it on whilst banging my gong!)
