    The problem I have with F87 gauges is that you can only see one extra thing at a time: only oil temp, fuel range, odometer, digital speedo, etc.

    • @markbatarina4512
      @markbatarina4512 8 месяцев назад +2

      Fuel range is honestly useless. Odometer I hate looking at bc it shows the age of the car. No need for a digital speedo when the speedo itself is amazing. Oil temp is the only reader I need honestly.

    • @chrisbradley3224
      @chrisbradley3224 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@markbatarina4512 I have to disagree. On my F87 M2 comp I would love to see the range since the fuel tank is so small and needle moves fast. Oil temp is good but I also like the digital speed for some reason.

    My G87 6MT arrives in June, I am beyond excited for the car. Interestingly enough I was cross shopping it with the FL5 CTR but all things considered Inwent for the G87. It is in essence a half price M4 with a shorter wheelbase and a more lively chassis.

    Both great cars, I’m still in favor of all flavors of the f87 with my favorite still going to the m2 LCI ( n55b). I’m not to big a fan of the sound of any s55 with any exhaust or equal length pipes. I have 550whp in my 2018 LCI and I did some upgrades to looks via m4 seats re upholstered, m2cs steering coding, m2c aluminum and carbon strut brace, and m2cs hood and front lip. To me this was the perfect sounding and balanced m2. Can’t go wrong with any of them. I code out all fake noise in my bmws. The s58 does sound pretty damn good. I also wanted to mod and didn’t want to do that to a m2cs at all and I’m not a fan of the crank hub issue if modified.

      @@TheLifeofJoeLee thank you, I appreciate it. I look forward to more content on your g87 and congratulations. The s58s are no joke with just a tune. I have a 850whp c7 z06 for my more straight line fun but those new s58 with some flex fuel, downpipe and tune are insane.

    I’ve yet to find a current F87 owner who doesn’t only focus on the so called “negatives” of G87, especially the CS owners that paid so much more for an inferior car in every aspect of performance, technology, and comfort/daily usability. Joe, I appreciate your respectfulness by telling your friends what he wanted to hear.

    Just recently picked up an f87CS simply cause of the looks and the pure experience it gives. These new g series M cars although are very well planted and balanced on the road and track for what it is, I don’t get the engagement like I do in these f series BMWs. Also prefer the physical buttons only cause it’s right on my finger tips, vs digging in the infotainment to figure out how to warm my seat 😂. Awesome video by the way 👍.

      I've always thought what made the G87 so controversial to traditional M enthusiasts like Mike is because it breaks the "status quo" of what an M car should be in their minds. Whenever you read/watch the majority of G87 M2 reviews, what are the common complaints?
      - its "too heavy"
      - its "too ugly"
      - it "lacks driving engagement" (mainly lack of steering feedback)
      From these you can ascertain what enthusiasts consider a stringent set of rules that must be followed if a car wants to be considered a "true" M model. Using an E46 M3 as an example, what do people praise it for?
      - it's the lightest amongst its main rivals (C55 AMG and Audi RS4)
      - it's design is timeless and understated
      - it has an engaging driving experience

    As both an M fan and 911 GTX fan (owned a few models from new), all the S55/S58 comparos is splitting hairs in a phone booth. They are all minor variations from the other. When you have the $ to get into a 911 GT3, any year present day, you will realize this that much more because you are legit in the GTX club with pink slip. I also merely tolerate BMW manuals. Falls well short of Honda/Porsche.

    • @TheLifeofJoeLee
      @TheLifeofJoeLee  8 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with your take on the the 911 GTX. With young kids, I've been focused on dual purpose practical and fun cars. I've come close to purchasing a 991.1 GT3 on a couple occasions but passed on them for practicality reasons. However, this past year, I found that I don't use the 2nd or 3rd car much for family duty. I'm looking to purchase a GT3 this year when I'm ready to give up my Evora GT. This comparison was more about the feel of the 2 cars than their powerplants - the S55 and S58 feel very similar to me with the S58 having a little more at the top end. What is your take on the 992 GT3 compared to a 991.1 and 991.2? I haven't driven a 992 yet.

    • @kcw9313
      @kcw9313 8 месяцев назад +1

      I have no doubt you’ve thought this through. Hard pass on 991.1 GT3. The engine is a fail. 992 GT3 hardware is another gen better, but personally, the 991.2 GT3 manual is a lifetime car. In my eyes, the best looking 911 in 99x land. Looks cleanest, almost stealth. Doesn’t try to be an RS with a more integrated rear wing. Swan/goose neck spoilers only look good HUGE ie RS. Looking forward to seeing what you end up with brotha!

    • @BruBrusmayhem

      @@kcw9313i agree with you
      I drove a 991.2 GT3 manual and it’s probably the closest thing to an encounter with god I ever experienced😂
      It’s the perfect balance. Everything works, everything is positionned at the right place, you feel connected, engaged.. etc..
      But, remember that it’s more than twice the price of a new G87.
      I dont have the Porsche 911 GTx money, I drove a 992 carrera S but didnt like it.
      I hate those comparison between F87 and G87. The F87 CS is the top of the line, pushed and lightened version of the F chassis M2. The G87 is the base trim level aimed at a totally different buyer… we should compare it to the base F87 where I assure you the G87 is superior on every aspect and feel.
      I bought the G87 M2 after trying an M2 comp, and there’s nothing in the world that would make me buy the F chassis because the base M2 always been the working man’s one car garage compromise.. the G87 will outdrag most cars on the street, will run fast laptimes on track days, will be very comfortable for a 6 hours road trip, is classy and settled enough for daily work commutes, will look just fine in a wedding or business diner and finally, will make me scares of it on winding back roads ! All that on a warranty and leased if you dont want to commit long term! It’s not the CS’s track oriented machine competitor, that will come along later and I hope we all agree that the new G87 comp or CS will be the right opponent to last gen’s
