‘05-09 looks the best especially in California Special form. They lost the true retro look with the ‘10-14 especially with the squish rear end. Personally I like the look of the ‘10-12 front though. They should have kept the ‘05-09 rear and stuck with the ‘10-12 front and with the coyote motor and upgraded interior it would have been a sweet package. I don’t know why they had to make such a drastic departure on the rear. You didn’t see dodge do that with the challenger as they recognized it was a great retro style so they made more subtle changes over the years.
Nice! So much nicer inside than my 2005 Mustang GT. And the power, stock, is great as well. It's perfect, not too much, but you'll never feel under-powered either. You have to mean to go full throttle in that car.
Gregory Huston awesome deal...i bought my 14' base Track Pack for $30k brank new in march 2nd 2014....Roush exhaust....6sp manuel....fun fast car. 21k miles on it now.
Ford has a tradition in making performance cars with amazing motors . I owned a 1970 mustang with a drag pack 4.33 ratio rear diff and a boss 351C and that motor would rev past 8000 rpm and pull the whole way. Ford puts the emphasis on power and the parts that matter the most.
So I am currently on my last year of high school. I'm gonna go look for a job this weekend in hopes that they accept me. If so, I'm gonna save up to get a 2014 gt before prom. Found one for about 16,000
Owned a 2014 v6 for about 6 months but now I’m looking to get a GT & start building on it… Ford has sold me on how reliable yet fun there cars are. Can’t wait to get my GT
I traded in my v6 2011 6 speed in for a 13 5.0 6 speed track pack and lemme tell you holy shit the difference is amazing and as much as I miss my grabber blue the ingot silver 5.0 is menecing as hell and I cannot wait to put money aside and mod the shit out of it
I found a '14 GT for 21k CDN with 88k kilometers. Needless to say, it now is in the driveway. And I wanted a Challenger for so long, but the design, of the 2014 Mustang especially, sold me. Plus 420 HP doesn't hurt.
I'm buying a black Manual 2013 Mustang GT/CS in less than two weeks! I'm so happy! Already prepaid the dealer. It just sits there and waits for me. Jesus! I've been dreaming about a true muscle car my whole life and now the wait is almost over.
I've got 3 and love every one of them. An '11 Shelby with a '13/14' rear end and tail lights, a 13 & '14 GT Brembo Tracks Packs. Great Review. These cars are awesome. I don't want to drive anything else. I'm sure there's other good cars out there, but these have my heart.
I used to own a black 2014 GT, with the Track Pack (6 Speed and 3.73:1 limited slip rear end), had it for almost 3 years and loved it. Now have a 2018 Camaro SS 6 Speed
I have driven a few gen 6 camaro's now. I really like them. The manual one was a 2018 1LE, really nice car, loved the manual shifter on it. And the power, very torquey!
Charger R/T is slow... It’s a drivers race for my 3v. Go with the ‘13-‘14, you won’t regret it. And the coyotes handles boost better than the 5.7 hemi too. Well into the 600whp range.
You probably have bought something by now but I have both a 2020 Challenger R/T and a '14 Mustang GT 'vert in my garage. The R/T is very quick off the line with it's 372 HP and 400 torque despite it being 300 lbs heavier. You can't go wrong with either ride. V8 muscle is the key. Whichever style YOU prefer.
A lot of ‘14 GT reviews, but this is the best one I’ve seen! 👍 great job! Have my own ‘14 Yote arriving very soon. I had originally chosen a ‘15 V6 in guard metallic for my first Mustang, but aborted the deal - and that’s after paying a non refundable transport fee. I think I’ll be (much) happier with the 5.0 in the long run. Don’t believe I’ll regret the decision.
I appreciate it! I always enjoy a good mustang, and if I were in the market for an S197 a '13 or a '14 GT / BOSS would be the only way to go IMHO! Guard metallic is a very nice color though, what color is the GT you are getting?
The Dutch Texan Black convertible. Not big on convertibles but price was decent and mileage was low IMO. Ya, the guard met on the v6 Is a rare and cool color and I like the s550 body _almost_ as much as the s197. I remember the moment when I knew I wanted the V8, was when I was stopped at a red light with a GT right in front of me. I rolled down the windows so I could hear him as he pulled away and the exhaust note sounded GREAT! I went home and started the search for my own yotee.
Brought my Mustang GT 5.0 Bullitt 3 inch exhaust throughout 440 horses of pure fun, love it but it is loud and proud, vibration only on startup and acceleration. Track package apps too, though what an amazing power house love the adrenaline rush. Can't wait to purchase my next one, maybe the Shelby if they make a come back
I love my 2014 GT. Bought her in March of 14. Just crossed 50,000 miles. I absolutely love it, it’s the best looking I think. I like the new ones as well but will definitley miss the look and feel of the S197 when I have to replace her.
I bought a 2014 Black GT Convertible on Ebay last Sept. with 34,000 miles on. Had a Roush Stage 1, Steeda Full suspension, Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes and Roush axle backs. Was a no reserve auction and I won the car for $22k. Upgraded the pulley, injectors, spark plugs and put Kooks headers on it this winter. Spent another $2500 on upgrades and car dyno'd at 613 on the rear wheels. It's a beast!
+Appalling Dragon I appreciate it man! And I have been a small RUclipsr for a while so I have become accustomed to it I suppose! As long as I get cool comments like yours I am good! I'd still want to hit 100K one day though!
I was honestly against Mustangs and American muscle due to the fact I drive an Evo x, and an Sti but now I'm driving a 14 Mustang gt and a tundra trd pro and I honestly have to say I love the Mustang 👌🏽
The Dutch Texan I ended up buying a 2013 gt with only 16k miles for the same price. your review made me settle on a mustang. thanks man i’m loving the car
You should note in the headline that you are demonstrating a Borla exhaust. Otherwise, users looking for an original trim review (like me) are disappointed whereas those who are looking for a Borla equipped car won't find the video.
I get where you are coming from, but the headline is long already. Most of the cars I review aren’t stock. To find a stock mustang review is like finding a needle in a haystack. Sorry my video didn’t help you out.
I don't see a long headline. "(Borla)" is 7 signs. But if you are satisfied with your regular customers who know what kind of cars you use to review and not interested in extending your customer base, avoiding important information in the title might fit.
@@Juergen_Mueller well, it is one of my top performing videos. Changing anything might screw with the algorithm so it stays as it is. Good luck to you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Back when this was reviewed they were everywhere but now due to the shortages all used cars are insanely priced and in short supply. (2021 chip shortage to date this comment, which I hope does not age very well at all unlike the '13 - '14 mustang GT's)
A race tuned 3.7 cyclone engines are very good in the s197. Seen a few of the v6 ones give the coyote mustang a run for is money. And seen the v6 s197 easily take both a charger and challenger r/t and beat them. Making the v6 cyclone mustangs very underrated
Good review but not sure what roush exhaust he’s talking about but I have a 14 5.0 as well and for those do you looking at the roush axle back exhaust it’s not loud all the time.
Hello to all from McAllen Texas. I bought a new Race Red 6 - speed manual GT Mustang in 2014 and she's my daily driver. Matter of fact I'm still honeymooning with that bitch. Each time I get behind the wheel it feels like the first. Thanks to Ford for developing the Coyote engine which (with proper maintenance), is bulletproof practically.
The Dutch Texan Agreed, It's the last best looking STANG in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the current ones are nice but I feel like the headlights are stretched out, overall the front end decent
It's a good price if it's good, has all the maintenance records with it and is preferably bone stock. Lots of other ones for sale, take your time and find the one you like the best! Plus about bone stock is you can put your own taste on it. Unless you like all the mods the PO did to it.
i plan on purchasing a 2014 GT soon, but what’s with all the talk about the handling being bad or it spinning out of control lol, got me second thinking (yes i’ve seen the car meet videos and mustang crash comps) but for all the s197 gt owners out there, how’s the handling at speed limit? turns? let me know your experience
The handling is completely fine. The people that crash are the ones trying to show off. At the limit it tends to push over the front wheels unless you are in it too much, then it’ll kick out the rear. The point is that unless you are trying to it won’t surprise you. Drive sane in the rain and you’ll be 100% fine!
Power and handling wise? No doubt this Mustang! The R/T is a drivers race with my 2005 Mustang GT, it is lacking in power. From a practicality standpoint the Challenger reigns supreme. You can actually put an adult in the back seat. Mustang? Not so much. And out of the 3 the Challenger did the retro thing the best. Especially when the '15's came out. They look great both outside and inside.
I love my 14 GT but I love my 98 GT so much more. It feels so much more raw being built on that fox body chassis is one of the best feelings in a mustang
Hello, Awesome ‘14 Mustang premium GT and a really well thought out video. I own an ‘11 Performance White/Red Premier trim interior Mustang Premium GT named “Wildfire” (Named after Michael Martin Murphy’s Countsong “Wildfire” and I LOVE IT!!! . What car!!!) You shot a really nice well explained video well thought out and have a very nice car.
Thanks for the props! It isn’t my car though! Check the description in the video for the owner. I do car reviews from time to time and all cars are provided to me by the owners!
Where do you get that matte black faux GT gas cap? I haven't been able to find one for my 2014. Other years of this body style have one available, but I couldn't find one for the 2014.....
I also think the body is the nicest lines on this year. And I like the center fog light look. Looks like the old cars. A 2013/14 is on my search list for spring/summer.
@@TheDutchTexan thanks I hope so too. I’ve seen a few nice ones at the dealer. And that exhaust sounds about right I’ll have to look into it eventually. Enjoy your videos thanks!
@@longboardguy I enjoy making them. And it's even better when I get comments like yours. I am a massive car fan and am all over the spectrum. But the mustangs will always be special to me.
The Dutch Texan Right now it's in the shop. I got a "service rear axle" alert on the instrument panel. Dropped it off Friday. They said they weren't even going to look at it until this week. But when I get it back maybe we can get together. I think it'd be cool to have you do a review.
Exactly. I really am interested in some other cars but they're more than I want to spend right now. I love the Vette but things like this may force me to move on. I haven't even pushed this thing yet.
+Front Seat Driver I hope they do you right and fix it up good. There is no reason for you to have rear end problems. If anything that is the one thing that should stay together for 100K+ miles!
It all depends. For me manual would be the only way to go in the case of a Coyote mustang. But, automatics make a lot of sense if you have a horrid commute.
Well I'm mostly worried about the bad reputation the MT-82 has on the web. I would like a manual of course but I'm afraid it will go out on me or something.
There is always that chance. But I have driven 3 with that transmission, a ‘14, and two ‘15’s one of which I reviewed again after it got supercharged. I don’t think it’s a bad trans at all and I ran trough the gears under power, but it all depends on the previous owner and naturally luck. Ford did small things to better the trans over the years so I imagine the transmission in an ‘11 would be more prone to issues vs a ‘14.
Mt82s are in fact quite bad when abused. Buddy had syncros go bad at around 60k but he abuses the car. If you treat it right, it should last quite a while.
Kiryutka22 I'm getting ready to buy a '14 gt with 11k miles..what does abusing mean in this case? Should I just drive it normally? Is doing pulls bad? Sorry for the dumb questions, thanks
The 2015 handles and rides a lot better. The interior is definitely a step up from the 2014. It's like the difference between my 05 and the 14. Engine power is very similar, but the s550 platform is just leaps and bounds beyond that of the 2014. I still prefer the 2013-14 just because they are more affordable and have a more raw feel. The 2015 is better in every way though (save exterior styling, the 2013-2014's still look the best of the newer ones IMHO).
Nigel B. Owned both. Love the interior of the s550 but only if it’s premuim. Touchscreen, the little toggles and with leather seats you get heated and cold seats. Right now I have a 14 premuim track pack and kinda looks bland. And it only has heated seats
the 13's and 14's have the best lines, jmo.
Still love my 2005, but the 13's and 14's looks stellar! And that coyote power!
‘05-09 looks the best especially in California Special form. They lost the true retro look with the ‘10-14 especially with the squish rear end. Personally I like the look of the ‘10-12 front though. I own a 14 GT bad ass lines but I think a modified SN-95 still beats it
I’ll miss my 14 when I have to replace it. Luckily I just crossed 50,000 miles so still a bit of life left in her.
They will last way longer than that if you just keep up on maintenance

Gotta love black! And the rear of the S197 is unbeatable. My favorite look the tail lights are just mesmerizing.

The S550 is a beautiful car. Sporty, aggressive and fast. But the 13-14 S197 is in my opinion, the best looking Mustang since 1970.
Completely agreed! I like my 2005 a lot too. It just has that vintage look to it.

There is a reason you see them everywhere at car shows. They are a performance bargain with plenty of headroom for power, especially these coyotes!
How could you be against the American v8s best sound
10/12 front end, 2013/14 back end. All 197s look great, but that is a killer combo
And that is why I love the Mustang community (and the car community in general). People always find other ways to make things more unique!

Good review but not sure what roush exhaust he’s talking about but I have a 14 5.0 as well and for those do you looking at the roush axle back exhaust it’s not loud all the time.
Beatifull beast !!
Indeed it is! It was awesome!
Absolutely beautiful man.
+Jeremy Montemayor thank you!
How solid is the interior on these cars? I know its plasticy but does it rattle or have annoying squeeks?
Beatiful car man , its perfect !! In mexico we say ; esta bien chingon 👍greetingsfrom mexico ,congratulations !!
I like it too, wish it was mine!
The laugh he makes at 2:28 is the same laugh I do whenever I hear one xD that sums up the video xD
I like this gen better than the current one. And I’d rather have the solid axel for the 1/4 mile.
I do as well. For me it's mainly the styling that is still part of the retro look they started in 2005. No doubt the S550's handle better though!
Bless up from Nassau BAHAMAS 242! Bro I just subscribe too your channel men I like this Mustang Coyote..
I loved driving it. If you had to get yourself one the '13 - '14 Mustang GT's are high on my list!
Great review. I own an '05 GT that I'll never sell, but I'd love to add a '13/'14 GT to the stable. And and '18 GT lol.
+Paul Tucker yup! In early did it too, but priorities shifted.
I bought a 2019 Mustang GT and love it, but I would trade for one of those in a heartbeat
I don’t blame you. The newer ones drive better, but there just is something about the >2014 models!
I love my GT Premium Track Pack 🥰
Hello to all from McAllen Texas. I bought a new Race Red 6 - speed manual GT Mustang in 2014 and she's my daily driver. Matter of fact I'm still honeymooning with that bitch. Each time I get behind the wheel it feels like the first. Thanks to Ford for developing the Coyote engine which (with proper maintenance), is bulletproof practically.
I wish my 05 made that power for sure. It is such a nice engine and truly the perfect power for the s197 platform.
I love this car! I have been looking at different spoilers to put on my 2014 GT. This spoiler is perfect, which one is it?
Thanks!
Nik
That was the factory spoiler with the camera in the middle. I just asked the owner real quick!
I have a 2014 ROUSH stage 3 phase 3 it's a beast 675hp.
Sounds like fun!
Not looking to sell it? lol
great vid... watch out for those frisco cops lol
Ha! I am on permanent scan when driving. Speed limits are merely a suggestion. Unfortunately the speed part is taxed past the limit.
I love this car
Yup, I loved this one as well! It’s the perfect power level for the s197 platform IMHO!
The Dutch Texan Agreed, It's the last best looking STANG in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the current ones are nice but I feel like the headlights are stretched out, overall the front end decent
What do you think about a 2013 mustang gt with 75k miles on it for 16k at a dealership. Worth it or not anymore ?
It's a good price if it's good, has all the maintenance records with it and is preferably bone stock. Lots of other ones for sale, take your time and find the one you like the best! Plus about bone stock is you can put your own taste on it. Unless you like all the mods the PO did to it.
there's one selling for 6k, only problem is it's got 120k miles, worth getting or no?
Shit let me buy it. Hell yeah I’d buy it for that price. I’m looking for one now
I think you can get a Tremec T56 for your 2005.
Yup, if a serious build (think forged block + boost) ever happens on my S197 that would be the trans I would get for it.
i plan on purchasing a 2014 GT soon, but what’s with all the talk about the handling being bad or it spinning out of control lol, got me second thinking (yes i’ve seen the car meet videos and mustang crash comps) but for all the s197 gt owners out there, how’s the handling at speed limit? turns? let me know your experience
The Dutch Texan good to hear. I know it was kind of a silly question but better safe than sorry. i appreciate the response, thanks!
Nice! I know they're different cars, but what did you prefer, this, or the Challenger R/T that you reviewed? Which one had more enjoyable power?
Power and handling wise? No doubt this Mustang! The R/T is a drivers race with my 2005 Mustang GT, it is lacking in power. From a practicality standpoint the Challenger reigns supreme. You can actually put an adult in the back seat. Mustang? Not so much. And out of the 3 the Challenger did the retro thing the best. Especially when the '15's came out. They look great both outside and inside.
I love mine!
My dream car 😍
They are becoming more and more affordable! (Also harder to find clean ones).
I love my 14 GT but I love my 98 GT so much more. It feels so much more raw being built on that fox body chassis is one of the best feelings in a mustang
Reznor what lol??? I had a 98 gt before with a amazing sounding exhaust and now that i have a 14 gt i completly forgot about that car and its interior
is that premium gt? the insterior looks cheap plastic..but still like the body design
Hello,
Awesome ‘14 Mustang premium GT and a really well thought out video.
Dam I might trade in my car to get a 5.0 🤔🤔
They are SWEET!
I have a 2014 gt cs convertible and like the sound or yours and would like the same sound for mine. What kind of exhaust and breather do you have?
Awesome car. Hell Yeah!
I agree!
Dream car 🥰 exactly the same with the 1969 one
The 1969 is my alltime favorite mustang bodystyle!
Im looking for one to get and build it up
Plenty of great deals out there right now!
I hope you can find a clean one without too many miles on it!
My cousin debbie had this car in a red color and it was convertible she sold it for a lincon
Was it time to slow down? Hahaha!
We are in a happy club!
That we are!
Im a dodge guy but im considering this for my next car! Nothing like a s197 to me especially the sound and price
What was the exhaust? It was a catback or axelback borla s-type?
Do we know about the mid pipes? Headers?
Awesome car, what's the tire size on the car? Tks
Great review!
+Front Seat Driver thanks man! So when do we do your Vette? Hahaha!
The Dutch Texan Right now it's in the shop. I got a "service rear axle" alert on the instrument panel. Dropped it off Friday. They said they weren't even going to look at it until this week. But when I get it back maybe we can get together. I think it'd be cool to have you do a review.
+Front Seat Driver that is disconcerting! And naturally they aren't too keen to get you back on the road. Warranty work...
Going to buy myself one of these this spring. I can't wait! But should I buy an Auto or Manual is the big question for me. .
How does the 2014 compare to the 2015 and up in your opinion. In a year or so I'm gonna be hitting the used market
The Dutch Texan I definitely like the look of both. Either way I'm sure I will be smiling
That's a fact!
I like the 2011-2014 Mustang GT, I cant wait to get one soon😁
Did u get it 😳
@@timetofl0at340 yes I did
@@kendrickgonzalez7919 I’m getting one too! How much did you pay for yours??
@@timetofl0at340 bout 21k & your gonna love it👍🏻
@@kendrickgonzalez7919 nice! Have u done anything to it yet?
I found one at 27k in CA, I want to get it.
That seems WAY too high to me. The market is currently adjusting a lot. If you can wait I would!
Main differences between premium and base?
What wheels are on this car ? I like them
Niche Targa's! 20's, 275 on the front, 305 on the rear!
awesome vid dutch TX
Thank you man! I can't believe it has been a year since we did the review on your old Jetta!
I've been looking at the S550 but just can't make myself like the exterior. IMO, the 2013-2014 looks much better.
Nigel B. Owned both. Love the interior of the s550 but only if it’s premuim. Touchscreen, the little toggles and with leather seats you get heated and cold seats. Right now I have a 14 premuim track pack and kinda looks bland. And it only has heated seats
What rims do you have ?
Very nice video man, I’m getting one in December ! I’m 17!!!
Respect it and it’s going to be a great ride! Getting a stick too?
The Dutch Texan yes
Can you fit a set of golf clubs with golf bag in trunk?
361boys Yes, easily.
