Thank you for leaving such a precious record. I have multiple friends and colleagues who were born and raised in HK. They are some of the most decent and hardworking people I had the pleasure to meet. I loved to stop over in HK on my business trips to spend time with them. But I totally underestimated their love for their hometown. Their willingness to sacrifice, which Joey Siu so well summarized, is a lesson to all who consider themselves citizens of the free world. May God speed up the day when I can fly back to HK to meet my friends again to celebrate her freedom from the shackles of tyranny.

American here. I knew there were protests in Hong Kong against the CCP, but this documentary definitely helped put things into perspective. The fear of the idea of sending those charged of crimes to mainland China, the complete disregard of civilians’ safety in regards to the police (kinda like the US 👀), and trapping protesters in Polytechnic University. It was definitely scary, and extremely sobering, to watch. I support the HK youth and protesters, and may each of the five demands come true! ❤️😷☂️🇭🇰

Ask ur government: why were people protesting even they had to risk their lives. How about the live bullets that had been shot to the kids? How about those men in white shirts who arbitrarily attacked people at Yuen Long MTR station on July 21 2019? They havent been arrested yet!

when I think of what happens and censorship in Hong Kong recently , I have to say this video deserves Oscar.
Only here because SCMP posted about China censoring this. Brings back a lot of memories of being in contact with a friend at the time. Last time I heard from her was shortly after the PolyU siege started. She left me a voice note that was basically a goodbye message.

As a HKer who was born in HK but migrated to Australia in 2005, I stand with you fully, I will never forget the brutality from the police that I witnessed during the time from 30th October 2019 to January 27th 2020, even though I was there to see my family, I decided to join my brothers and sisters in the fight for freedom, I have learnt many things while being out on the front helping others treat wounds, as a medic I want to thank the rest of you for that. It's been almost 2 years since I got to march with all of you, I love you all, add oil. (16/3/2021) - A fellow brother in arms.

Seeing this documentary a year after the movement, I would say the only regret we have is we couldn’t start it earlier and most of us not awakened early enough to recognise how corrupted our government and police force are.

I can’t watch the doc till the end... I’m so sad and what we Hongkongers gone through in 2019 caused too much death, pain, suffer and sadness.... but I still encourage those who don’t know what had happened in HK to watch, to really know what our Hkers and especially youngster suffered... Hongkongers, please stay strong, we will win!
American here. I knew there were protests in Hong Kong against the CCP, but this documentary definitely helped put things into perspective. The fear of the idea of sending those charged of crimes to mainland China, the complete disregard of civilians’ safety in regards to the police (kinda like the US 👀), and trapping protesters in Polytechnic University. It was definitely scary, and extremely sobering, to watch. I support the HK youth and protesters, and may each of the five demands come true! ❤️😷☂️🇭🇰
