As someone who spent most of their young life farming but is entirely new to this game let me just say that your videos are by far the most boiled down, efficient videos on any given topic in this community. At least that I've seen. You've been tremendously helpful to me even if you don't know it. Thanks for all the effort man.
Thank you so much. I got to the point where you have to left click to pull up the ui and had no idea what to do because I didn't see that step listed anywhere so had no idea how to actually make courses. I appreciate all your informative videos, they have been honestly so very helpful over the course of the 660 hours I have in game
Thank you very much, I just watched your Courseplay videos. And I was really nervous to use the mod but after watching videos and actually doing what you did in your videos on my own fields in FS22, I am now going to use it now. so again thank you very much for your videos. I can actually say you helped me use courseplay
Great video! I'm looking forward to the series! I've used Courseplay in various BASIC ways and have not even scratched the surface of it's potential, so I appreciate a more in-depth look at it!
This really helped me out since i just started playing again and this just makes my life so much easies since i dont have to correct the mistakes that the ai workers make. Thank You!
Thanks FC for this, 2 quick points. 1 when saving - label by field number, equipment and job, eg F17 Claas Harvesting, or F17 ??? Cultivating. For good housekeeping I set up a folder for each field. The other thing is early/late raise and lower. Sometimes there is an annoying section of field / crop that is missed when using a hired worker. If you use early lower and late raise it means the equipment "should" operate just before and just after the borders of the field. Hope this makes sense.
Thank you! Thank you! I wanted to try this mod and thanks to your tutorial, I am using the mod correctly on the first try! Such easy instructions. Greatly appreciated!! ☺️
You have some of the best tutorials I’ve watched. I do however wish you could slow down the playback speed on your mouth or stop to take a breath every few minutes. Slow it down a little bit so we can do what you’re telling us to do. Turn your O2 down to 1 liter per minute cuz you’re set at 100%. Thanks!
Hey Buddy:) Another AWESOME Very Helpful Video! I had No idea how to use or what Courseplay did, So Thank you so much for putting this together for us:) You Are Now on my Christmas Card List! lol
Tip 1: If you set your field position close to where you want your start position to be, then when the course is generated your CP starting point will also be close to where you set the field position (I typically set my field/start position in the same place on each field for each course so I always know approximately where to position my working vehicle before starting a course). Tip 2: If ever your vehicle struggles to follow a course (e.g., randomly goes off course), I recommend going into the CP generation menu, select "CLEAR CURRENT COURSE," and then reload/recreate the course you want to use.
One key point that should probably have been said in this video, your vehicle must have enough horse power for the tool it's using. I ran in to this issue (first time using courseplay, and only been playing the game for about 3 weeks) and could not figure it out for a while. Though I think the mod's info probably says that somewhere and I ignored it... because you know... instructions and being a guy and all... Other than that, your video is only about 2 days late for any use to me lol, I figured it out now. Otherwise, solid info, Thanks for putting it together. Looking forward to the next parts.
Yeah… I need a pc like yesterday. I just want equipment and assets that aren’t on the modhub. This would make it so I could work every field at once, my dream
15:30 when you set the settings to last waypoint, from my experience it goes back to the last waypoint that it was at before you paused the course. Not sure if anyone has pointed that out or not yet, but it doesn't mean the final waypoint
Just don’t interfere with the worker until field is complete otherwise he forgets what he’s supposed to do and the whole plan for that field is screwed. Also the unreal combines don’t work on courseplay. They start out ok but soon go haywire. Ok I figured out that once the grid is displayed you can just line up about where you left off and hire worker again.
Seems like this method would be much more time consuming to be honest, much more stopping, reversing, and starting around each corner. From my experience running a pair of turnrows/headlands then letting the Actual Idiots run free will work every time, unless you use certain mod equipment(The larger stuff seems to leave tiny patches, but nothing that would matter drastically on the 100+ acre fields that most will use them on) While it’d be cool to see, it’d probably require its own piece of equipment. Given their trouble adding hazard support to use console folk, that might be a large ask lol.
@@CyberneticKinesis I tend to play on maps that don’t have rectangular fields and AI Workers pretty much call off for work on harvest day. It isn’t a big deal on normal field work but for harvest they leave massive amounts of crop on the ends. Also, I just want the realism of seeding. Starting in the middle of the field and doing headlands last. You can’t do that with AI without courseplay
Script mod. So unlikely. Your best bet console wise is to do a lap or 2 around the field circumference to give the ai worker more room to turn. They usually perform pretty well that way.
One thing I noticed with regular AI is it really struggles if you had someone make a field for you in multiplayer and they did not make it perfectly square, the AI breaks it just cannot handle it, it has to be PERFECTLY square and even then sometimes the AI breaks anyway on perfect square fields that are newly made, it seems to be GIANT coded into a lot of the fields in vanilla maps already how the AI should behave, but on new fields they struggle, courseplay seem to be the perfect fit for fields you create or even fields you combine, I noticed the AI does not seem to register when you combine fields in vanilla, very annoying. Its good that mods like this exist so if you hate plucking stones on a monster field like me which can take better part of an hour IRL of gameplay, then just let the AI do it.
Thanks Farmer Cop. Been waiting for one of these to try to use CP. I tried to use it once and it screwed up my key bindings. But I think that was Giants problem.
Did you download it from the in game mod hub if so idk what to tell you but if you downloaded it from outside the in game mod hub make sure the mod is in your fs mod folder
Great video. I have quick question. If I had to cancel a courseplay for a harvester and I want to resume it later, what are the steps for resuming it so it can pick up where it left off?
I don’t have FS22 yet hopefully sometime next year I will get it but with courseplay I’d like to see a feature in it. Maybe it is in it, or maybe it’s not to have courseplay to calculate the amount of seed, fertiliser or lime. You need for each row, and if you do not have enough in the equipment to do that row vehicle will not move until you got enough material to do that row instead of it, stopping in the middle of the field where you have to drive the vehicle all the way back to the end of the field to get more material
That is not a feature but would be nice, there is a mod called "Field Calculator" that does at least calculate the totals for those items needed on a specific field
ProTip: If CP doesn't find a field clearly or selects neighboring fields together, e.g. because only a narrow strip of grass grows between them, you can use the landscape editor (Shift+P) to drag a narrow strip of gravel or concrete between the fields, then the fields will be better recognized......
Thank yo ufor the protip on detecting custom fields. I play No Mans land and use some course Play. I will check to make sure that my customer fields are detected. I also look forward to your other videos on Course play. One question I have that is course play relate and hope you might cover in a future video is grapes and olives. I havent touched vine work but was wondering whats the best optimal way to use course play with vines and olives. I wonder if there are options to unload the harvester for vine yards or good strategies for grape harvesters. I look foward to your future videos love your tutorials.

hey so i turned the money for workers off and the repairs off, but my money is still draining, but i was thinking, since im seeding, is it constantly taking money out to refill the seeder?
Great series of tutorials on CoursePlay - thanks. Any chance of one being done on the appropriate use of Lands, Skipping rows, etc using root crop harvesters with fields that have narrow edges including boundary obstacles like trees etc?
I have not looked to far into those yet, the row skipping i do use when i have larger equipment, usually ill do a couple headlands and then have it skip 1 row so it can turn around easier

I found it on game pass two weeks ago and I already have 120 hours in game, but as I've expanded. I'm getting more frustrated at managing everything with the crappy AI.
Hi Farmer, really love to see Courseplay, just one problem. I cant find it under "gameplay" in the mod section. Am I maybe blind or do you have downloaded it elsewhere? :-) Thank you for your work
Is there by any chance that some implements don’t work on course play, I’m having issues on certain maps and it doesn’t work. Then other maps works fine. Just trying to find some answers for it not working. Thank you for your videos.
Great video! I've been using Courseplay since FS19 so am pretty familiar with it and this series is helpful to keep this tool fresh in my mind. However, I am finding that my vehicles will sometimes completely ignore the course and roam all over the map. They start just fine and work for a while, but then seem to "forget" where they are and take a line completely off course with no correction or collision detection. I had a seeder that went off course and was trying to "work" a paved area adjacent to the field. Anyone else seeing this? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? Thanks!
Helpful video, as usual, but your discussion on "Prefer custom fields" totally lost me... In _what sense_ are custom fields preferred? Does this have to do with pathfinding, with course creation, or what?
@@FarmerCop Thanks FC -- I understand this much, yet which still does not tell me what it means to "prefer" a custom field?
