    As for the lady with depression problems, I would suggest reading the scripture, especially the parts where God is speaking about His love towards us. Jimmy listed all the non-spiritual practices that can help, but reading the Bible can really help with depression and also heal the wounds. Beside that, I would suggest praying 4 rosaries a day. Mary will grab you out of the hands of demons and hold you tight to her Immaculate heart. She will give you peace and joy.

      @kimfleury 2 месяца назад +2

      I'm not so sure that adding the burden of an hour of the Rosary will help someone who is oppressed by depression. Someone who suffers from depression has a hard time doing _anything _ , not even get out of bed or off the couch. It takes practice to build up to praying that many Rosaries each day. The failure to follow through only deepens the depression.
      P.S. Depression isn't always caused by demons. Beat up the devils anyway, but don't delay treatment.

      @@kimfleuryMaybe I'm wrong, but I never met anyone who prayed rosary in the time of suffering and left without comfort and peace. If someone look to the rosary only as a boring repetative prayer and burden, of course he or she won't suggest it to anyone. But I look at it as a ancor to our Lady's heart who will drive the demons out and give us peace.

    Hahaha, Jimmy Akin dancing to Cotton Eyed Joe sounds awesome!
    Jimmy, if you want to do live-streaming dance lessons at some point for a show(maybe you could talk about St. Francis de Sales's comments on dancing amongst other saints, and maybe after dancing, explain the morality of dancing after the dance). Consider making this a future episode, haha!

    "Consecration to St. Joseph, The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father" by Fr. Donald H. Calloway, MIC.
    It has certainly helped me in my role as husband and father.

      Angels are made from spiritual matter, which is like physical matter, but in the spiritual realm. However, angels can interact with our physical matter. At least some of them can and probably only with permission. I’m guessing the angel was opaque and appeared as a regular man, except he glowed for dramatic effect.

      I caught that too and it threw me a bit back when I first heard it, and I caught too the slightest wince on Mr. Akin’s face when he heard himself use it. I honestly think that “orchestrated” might have been a superlatively strong word for Mr. Akin to use in this case. I say this in that Jesus was at least to some degree subject to the Will of His Father and did as in accordance to that. We can know this in that He did inquire to His Father that if at all possible could his yoke be lifted… …He suffered beneath that “orchestration” into which He was subjected.

      These sorts of questions are fun to think about, but yes, Joseph is correct that they did have free will

    • @John_Fisher
      @John_Fisher 2 месяца назад +1

      One way to look at it is that even between humans there are situations where we can know, with a high degree of certainty, how someone will choose to respond to a situation; I could offer my kids to choose between ice cream or cauliflower for dessert but their free will has not been removed when I make the offer just because I already know what their response is going to be. It is true that they may surprise me with their response from time to time and will never surprise God, but His knowing their response no more takes away their freedom in choosing that response.

      @@josephreagan9545 What If~~~There were some incredibly good souls playing the role/s that had to happen as part of The Big Plan Of Redemption. To be incredibly simplistic, maybe Judas Iscariot agreed to "Take One For The Team," and be a rather rotten person, ultimately performing The 2nd Vilest Betrayal (Lucifer gets 1st prize). Judas would have to have the mental & Physical fortitude to do such a heinous act, and be vilified til the end of Earthly History, but What If he did it because someone had to. I have wondered about this a few times ~~~ I think I could process that better than Judas Iscariot was a Human Creature being used as a pawn in a cosmic game of chess ~~ There are a few situations in Holy Scripture in which it seems Humans are used as pawns for purposes over which they had no control nor recourse. Example: The Story of Job...
