I cut off 3 inches and reversed the baffles, tapped on the end caps and now I have a beast.I appreciated your vid and advice. You dont need power commander,no flatspots, just keep the baffles for some backpressure.I hope this helps others.
@MrSleeps yes i think it was, i put a thermocouple and meter on my header and rode around. i bought a power commander to richen it up and k&n filter. 700 F with hacked exhaust, 630 F with filter and programmer. just bought power commander 3 to protect my motor. first off they come so lean from the factory to pass emissions and after i reduced back pressure it was even worse. difference with filter a PC3 was amazing.
@jangl3z about 10 inches. I ended up putting back in baffles i removed. Sound was resonating in my helmet. i also crushed down the 3 pipes that were left in it. Its still just as loud but i dont have to wear ear plugs when i ride it. i also left in the cats, they are at the base of the Y.
Es más barato comprar un tubo de escape nuevo, aunque suena muy bien este tubo de escape modificado,¡gran trabajo!,lo menos que me ha gustado es la camiseta de camarero que llevabas, mejor la que tenías en el taller.
I think it's a bit overkill modification like this. But every person has his own taste :) I made a modification that is a bit less drastic. It is dutch, but the images show enough info.
Respond to this video... when bike was stock the front end would come up with hard 1 to second shifts, now it comes up when i roll into it in first gear and has far flatter throttle response through entire range.
These older bikes don't have O2 sensors. My 2012 Harley does have O2 sensors but It doesn't work like that. If you make any changes you have to reprogram the ECU even if you have O2 sensors. It should work like you suggest but it doesn't, maybe because of emissions regulations. I think from the factory my Harley has a very narrow range of adjustment.
Also I tuned my Harley with a programmer that just looked at the O2 sensor and automatically adjusted the AFR map accordingly. So it must be something that is locked by the factory program.
I really don't know for sure. yes i think it was, i put a thermocouple and meter on my header and rode around. i bought a power commander to richen it up and k&n filter. 700 F with hacked exhaust, 630 F with filter and programmer. just bought power commander 3 to protect my motor. first off they come so lean from the factory to pass emissions and after i reduced back pressure it was even worse. difference with filter a PC3 was amazing.
Also, I think these bikes have a conservative tune in them as compared to a racing 600 or 1000. The difference in throttle response was amazing as soon as I put the power commander on it. I would highly recommend the power commander even if the bike wasn't running lean. The bike just feels night and day peppier now.

Thanks Im'm glad it helped, im going to make a video next telling about how i welded a scotts steering stabilizer on my Z.

Super
sounds great !!!!
Thanks for the video! I read a couple different places it was a bitch. Now i will chop mine! Good after thoughts...
You need a sound engineer lol great video !!
How did this effect your
Performance? Any loss in power , throttle response or anything else?

@stinkyspacenuts yes it must have, killed a lot of power think from engine running to lean.
curious was it running lean????
As long as the O2 sensor is still in place the bike will sort out the fuelling so It won't run lean

DID IT RUN LEAN OR DID U HAVE TO PUT A POWER COMMANDER ON IT
