Wow memory lane, I worked at the riverwalk while in college in the late 90s, the only stores that are still there are the Fudgery, Sunglasses store on the second level and Cafe DuMonde. everything else has cycled out. On the right as soon as you walk in on the lower level was the Sharper Image. Use to like to watch the cruise ships come in and talk to travelers from around the world and try to sell them shoes from the Walking Company.
remembering the years of shopping malls for my children growing up, the Ridgewood New Jersey mall was elegsnt. As a suburban extension from New York, Lord & Taylor anchored one end and B. Altman the other, A long stroll from one to the other had a fountain half way. New Orleans. where I grew up, had Jax brewery at the foot of Canal. Is this the River Walk?

@@NuYawk I lived in the Lower Pontalba-- we had the smell of Jax beer from the breeze in one direction, and the roasting coffee from Community Coffee when the breeze shifted. Please do another of the Quarter that doesn't spend its time on the Morning Call--a.k.a. the Cafe du Monde. The Cathedral is magnificent, and we worshipped there, looking up at that ceiling, while the bells with their tinny sound had the calliope of a steamboat on the river to answer. The Cabildo is magnificent, and a walk through Pirate's Alley takes you ontp Royal Street,
