I am so glad that we came across this video! I have a 5-1/2 year old boy who absolutely LOVES sirens and we go on what we call "Tornado Siren Journeys" around the state to go see all the different sirens. He asked about coming to SirenCon 2022, so we signed up today! See you all in June!

I love sirens too I made some in rec room took some looks at them on pictures and copped most have westmister chimes my favorite is my Whelen and my thunderbolt and my federal signal I have the correct sounds for each 10/10 very realistic for all of them my least favorite is my ewos

😂my brother is 10 years old and he is also obsessed with tornado Sirens too! Once we were going to Wisconsin Dells and he yelled in the car and said, “Thunderbolt!!” And we were all confused and there were no storms around us! Haha, he was talking about a tornado siren! My brother and my mom are going to one this June 2023!
I will say, the thunderbolt will always be my favorite, I love the way it sounds.
And my favorite one is the asc t-128 and the aca allertor 125

Thunderbolt is my favorite as well. Surprisingly we still use them where I live, as tornado sirens. I hear them every Saturday at noon. In real warning scenarios, they run more of them, and they make this beautiful yet creepy harmony when they all sound off together... You can't forget it. The sound is iconic of The Cold War.
Don't know if it's a good thing or not that most places have gotten rid of them, can't imagine how many bad memories are triggered when people here that, since the Civil Defense and Military used those for years. I'm kind of used to them since they began regular tests every Saturday for the last 10 years or so. It's still kind of terrifying for me and that stuff was decades before my time... Wakes me up every single time with a borderline panic attack lol... I guess I watch too many war time documentaries, I feel like I lived it, I think I've given myself post-war PTSD and I was only born in 1990. 😅

Siren geeks do exist as this video very well demonstrates and train horn geeks are out there to, as far as I know the 2 groups remain separate and never plan to merge as one.

Yeah. That's me. This event was not as particularly loud as 2022 or 2023.
SirenCon 2021 was an epic event and a ton of fun! I really enjoyed hanging out with awesome siren enthusiasts and hearing, the awesome sirens! Had a great weekend and sure hope to be at SirenCon 2022!

I never thought I would be a siren enthusiast... but when 2020 came everything changed and I became interested in sirens this year
ACA P-10 is my favorite! That chilling sound reminds me of those SD-10's being tested around the Los Angeles area at 10AM the last Friday of the month. They've disconnected them, but most are still in place.

Just as a reminder for those watching, the two 2804s were running as 2803s due to issues. One is confirmed an amplifier issue and the other was unconfirmed but possible wiring trouble. But none the less they still packed a punch!

The T-128 is what I imagine when I think of the zombie apocalypse or nuclear war starting. Super eerie sounding.
I always imagined Allertor 125s kicking in.
They were first installed here after Three Mile Island, since we're less than 10 miles away from the Beaver Valley nuclear power plant, in Shippingport PA.
They were later replaced with Federal 2001s, which have nowhere NEAR the coverage.
@@leehuff2330 They weren't allertors, but rather P-10's/15's which sound similar. Also T-128's were the replacement sirens iirc

Great video, all in one and very helpful. Personally the ACA P-10 is louder, definitely more powerful than the thunderbolt 1000 which is nice too.

Damn, 70! In Florida we have like probably almost double that but it's just 28XX/Vortex or 4xxx/3xxx series sirens.
Here, we used to have Allertor 125s and Banshees, but they've since been replaced with Federal 2001s, which pale in comparison.

First time I have seen a siren rotate 8 times per minute. I like this siren meet rally video. Wish the Whelen siren had sounded the vocal announcements, "tornado warning," or "severe thunderstorm warning." The Thunderbolt has an awesome roar and beautiful restoration. All the sirens are great to see and hear, and too good to be used for outdoor warning notifications again, although they work well enough to go back into service. It would be really neat to have one of these sirens and a generator to give it power, then be at a town or small city when a tornado warning occurs. By sounding it, the community would have an outdoor warning when their siren does not work, or has no warning siren in their area.
Closest I’ve got to a emergency warning siren is diaphones, my neighbouring town has an STH-10A I can hear LOUD AND CLEAR

If you saw, some of the insides of the sirens spin, that's because the so called cylinder spin at high speed, pushing and idk breaking the air, creating the loud sound

Both Whelens were using digital controls. I wish I could go there and bring my Whelen analog 3000 with me but I don't have a proper transportation vehicle for it.

A fully functioning Canadian CLM (aka Blues Brothers) siren with rotator would be a groove.
The problem with that is, they mostly are 550 volts. Our generator can onlyy output 240/480
