Alex should be an assistant QB coach, and I personally hope he received a ring for all 3, because I don’t think we would have any of our recent championships. Let alone still being able to dream of what 3 in a row could mean for all of Chiefs Kingdom. Alex will always be a a part of the Kingdom, and the Kingdom is always going to be a part of Alex’s life, family, and most of all his legacy.
As a Chargers fan, I love alex smith. I really like watching good football, and he was good on the commanders that year had horrible injury and came back and was still good 2 years later. Like to even come back from an injury like that much respect. He was an awesome guy to watch
Totally changed the paradigm that we can't win playoff games. Alex has such a special place in my heart. We could still be like Cleveland and on the never-ending QB carousel. Alex broke that psychology. Mahomes wouldn't be who he his without AS11
Speaking for all the CHIEFS fans I know... We LOVE Alex Smith! Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of the Dynasty... the playoff runs started with YOU man. We went from Flying banners over the stadium saying, "Fire Pioli", to dropping Superbowl banners in a few short years and you were a part of that journey. Everyone was so moved by your recovery; you were inspirational to so many and our respect for you grew even more. Alex is a true professional, a great husband, father, mentor, and will always be a part of CHIEFS KINGDOM!
We never forget what you done for us as Chiefs fans Alex and honestly when we drafted a QB and moved up for him I was pissed for real. He turned out to be amazing and mahomes is doing big things. But you got me to believe every year we had a shot and it's been a fun ride that you started.
I hadn't watched your site until Alex Smith. A great conversation 👍👌and caused me to review Alex Smith's days with the CHIEFS. Alex DID turn the CHIEFS around from Romeo Crenel days. A consistent winner and leader, Alex set the foundation for what has been achieved. As a 70 year old, life long CHIEFS fan I can tell you it's been a long time from Lenny The Cool to Coach Reid. These past dozen years should be relished. Thank you Alex Smith for leadership and courage.🙏
I had the opportunity to meet Alex once in Kansas City a rockhurst football play game search a genuine human, just an awesome guy. I hope he understands how much most of us here in Kansas City appreciate him
Alex's time in KC is extremely underappreciated, but his contributions to the Chiefs during that time turned the ship around for the franchise to the course that it is now. He truly deserved a SB ring in 2020 for what everyone in the Chiefs organization acknowledges; how he helped Mahomes start off on the right way.
I'm not sure who underappreciated him here in KC? He brought us back to relevancy after the disastrous early 2000's I think we understood what he brought. Alex even stated he could see the writing on the wall. He knew he could only take us so far.
@@TerMa354Andy Reid if anyone is who's under appreciated. It was him who was able to get Alex to play at the absolute pinnacle of his ability. KC always had talented rosters and just never had a QB you feared, even w/ Alex. But Reid was able to pump out 10+ wins just like he did in Philly. Hes had 3 losing seasons in 26yrs. 1yr w/ less than 10 wins in KC. The fact that he ever came available says he was under appreciated. Alex Smith was a guy that nobody was looking to sign for big money outside of his KC yrs
In Kansas City we were starving for good QB play. Alex you came in and gave us that. We always felt safe with you and your last year here you were a gunslinger. You really made football exciting. Thank you for that and thank you for setting the tone for what would come next. You're amazing
Mahomes would not be who he is without Alex to learn from. I think KC was the best spot for Mahomes not just because of Andy but because Alex did such a good job mentoring Mahomes even though he is a great QB in his own right. Wish him all the best.
Great interview! KC Chiefs fan, have had the chance to meet Alex off-field a couple of times, he's a great guy. Also, dibs to his wife as well as she had his back all the way thru his rehab!! Great people!!
Alex was the reason i didnt give up on the Chiefs in 2013! He balled out that year we drafted PM15!!! Alex doesnt get the credit he deserves for molding Mahomie into the Pro he is, showing him how to play QB the right way! I wish he wouldve stayed another few seasons snd got his 🏆
As a Chiefs fan Alex helped turn this franchise around and I will always be grateful for every part he played in it. Alex is part of this Championship Legacy. He’s a standup guy who is very humble. Chiefs fans absolutely love Alex Smith! I was so relieved when he recovered from his injury. Great dude & underrated! SF did everything it could to ruin his career and he persevered through it all.❤
Chiefs Kingdom should always be grateful for Alex Smith! Been watching the Chiefs my while life and he was the best QB we had since Montana. More than that he made the Chiefs a real team!
As a Ute I have always followed him,i never like the49rs so I hated how they let him go. When he went the Chiefs I quickly became a fan. Thank you guys for loving him I am still a Chiefs fan to this day. Because of you guys loving him so much.

Montana wasn't here long enough to make a huge impression career-wise, yes he was great. I would argue Trent Green belongs ahead of everyone besides Mahomes and Dawson.

With all due respect to Elvis Grbac, Damon Huard, and Brodie Croyle, Alex Smith was by far the best Chiefs quarterback between Montana and Mahomes. I'm so grateful for his selfless mentorship of Mahomes and the aura of optimism that he and Andy Reid brought to KC that paid its dividends after he left. I'm sorry that it took such a nasty injury and arduous recovery process for him to be more widely appreciated.
