Alex should be an assistant QB coach, and I personally hope he received a ring for all 3, because I don’t think we would have any of our recent championships. Let alone still being able to dream of what 3 in a row could mean for all of Chiefs Kingdom. Alex will always be a a part of the Kingdom, and the Kingdom is always going to be a part of Alex’s life, family, and most of all his legacy.

Totally changed the paradigm that we can't win playoff games. Alex has such a special place in my heart. We could still be like Cleveland and on the never-ending QB carousel. Alex broke that psychology. Mahomes wouldn't be who he his without AS11

Speaking for all the CHIEFS fans I know... We LOVE Alex Smith! Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of the Dynasty... the playoff runs started with YOU man. We went from Flying banners over the stadium saying, "Fire Pioli", to dropping Superbowl banners in a few short years and you were a part of that journey. Everyone was so moved by your recovery; you were inspirational to so many and our respect for you grew even more. I hadn't watched your site until Alex Smith. A great conversation 👍👌and caused me to review Alex Smith's days with the CHIEFS. Alex DID turn the CHIEFS around from Romeo Crenel days. A consistent winner and leader, Alex set the foundation for what has been achieved. As a 70 year old, life long CHIEFS fan I can tell you it's been a long time from Lenny The Cool to Coach Reid. These past dozen years should be relished. Thank you Alex Smith for leadership and courage.🙏

Alex's time in KC is extremely underappreciated, but his contributions to the Chiefs during that time turned the ship around for the franchise to the course that it is now. He truly deserved a SB ring in 2020 for what everyone in the Chiefs organization acknowledges; how he helped Mahomes start off on the right way.

I'm not sure who underappreciated him here in KC? He brought us back to relevancy after the disastrous early 2000's I think we understood what he brought. Alex even stated he could see the writing on the wall. He knew he could only take us so far.

@@TerMa354Andy Reid if anyone is who's under appreciated. It was him who was able to get Alex to play at the absolute pinnacle of his ability. KC always had talented rosters and just never had a QB you feared, even w/ Alex. But Reid was able to pump out 10+ wins just like he did in Philly.
Hes had 3 losing seasons in 26yrs. 1yr w/ less than 10 wins in KC. The fact that he ever came available says he was under appreciated. Alex Smith was a guy that nobody was looking to sign for big money outside of his KC yrs

I have been a chiefs fan since 1983 and remember when Montana joined the Chiefs, and the excitement he brought, including a rare playoff experience. After seeing so many - So so quarterbacks, Montana was like a breath of fresh air. Alex is no Montana or Mahomes, but he was quite frankly the fourth best QB the Chiefs have had, including Len Dawson. But the proof is in the pudding. Alex was a game manager extraordinaire that struggled with games when coming from behind. 9:14

    • @TerMa354

@@TerMa354 While I was excited about getting Trent from the Rams, he was very similar to Alex in my opinion. Just not a person that could come from behind! I liked Steve Deberg also, but quickly I learned he also couldn’t dig himself out of a hole. Honestly, year over year, I hung onto the individual greatness of players like Stephone Paige, Christian Okoye, Derrick Thomas, Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzalez. I guess after losing year over year in the first round of the playoffs, and having Montana take us to the AFC Championship game, he set an expectation for future QB’s to meet.

The media and the fans like to put these coaches and administrations up on a pedestal, as though they are so much more qualified and experienced and knowledgeable. But the truth is many times they're out there throwing darts. You'd be floored if you knew the number of personnel and strategic decisions that are made based on an owner or GM's ego as opposed to rational thought.
