i also noticed not being talked to even in these touristy spots, but this also depends a bit on where you are and ofc who you're encountering. if you don't look japanese (which is equal to MOST people will think you don't speak japanese even if you do) and dont start the conversation yourself they likely won't talk to you because most of these maids either don't speak english. think their english is "too bad to talk" or even if they would like to are sometimes just intimidated by or rather a bit scared of talking to foreigners. this is japan folks, if you don't start a convo you likely lose by default a lot of the time. i recommend roleplaying an extrovert while you are there
I will say that the standard maid cafe is kind of... mid. It really is like Hooters where you're paying (a lot) extra to have a maid serve you. Still go to satisfy your curiosity, but I don't think I need to go again. Now, Succubus Land...
I have been in Akiba before and I know what maid cafe she is talking about, it is on the main strip and there is always at least one or two maids out there trying to lure in customers. In all honesty, you need to do some research to find a maid cafe that has at least decent food and doesn't charge too much for maid interactions. Yes, any interactions with maids beyond ordering and food delivery is usually an extra charge. This was a few years back, so I don't know how much has changed.
Peak Based Weeb Degenerated Fauna , this is why she is the besto girl in Councilrys I kinda understand why people may not wanted to go , it cant be a little weird for the uninitiated , but it is not that diferent than going to any other weeb store in Akihabara , even more so if you go on a group and its just girls , i can undertand if it was a buttler cafe or Crossdressing cafe but a normal maid cafe as a girl should not be that weird or cringy honestly
I felt really bad for those maids in Akihabara. I remember going there on a particularly stormy and rainy day and these girls would just stand outside for hours in their cosplay with only a flimsy umbrella handing out fliers. It was in April so it got really cold after a while too. I did not end up visiting a cafe, mostly because I didn't really feel comfortable with the idea of giving money to places that kind of exploited their employees like that. It just felt a bit off.
Those two have the same energy. Their meeting must have been very fluffy
"Maid cafe? We're going to. Next time" But when is next time?...

It's no wonder Fauna's kimono is designed the way it is!
That reminds me. I hope Fauna and Gura do their maid cafe skit again

Who's sheep wife? All I heard Fauna discuss was Hololive's source of food.
Hololive’s source of food? She didn’t mention anything about Kiara…
