Michael you know the settings already bro yuh bad yuh playing nuh deh yah so I see anything you play your play it like your the original player bro keep it up🎵🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Davion showed his versatility and creativity with changes in patterns and improv and various licks, rallentandos and manipulation of the time signature🙏🏽🔥
People will only make great comments on their favorite person….but first understand and know a full musician than a jus a regular musician who play off their headtop… if you listen oshane and the last bass player they stood out…they both sounds very professional!!!!
All bass players can play but the first bass player who's name is Oshane very solid great tone and what I love is that he sits in pocket and play very steady. A genre like this is about playing steady and not do too much and is all about laying the foundation and going back to the roots of old school Jamaican Gospel. All musicians can play but Oshane stood out for me. Everyone genre requires a different feel and and it's about peeling back and laying the foundation and going back to basics. They are talented musicians but Oshane stood out and remember space is important and playing with a level of discipline and certain runs and chops are not required for this style of music is about doing justice to and be true to the genre
This is maturity in music speaking yes Andrew u know what proper music is Sir. Yes sir oshane is a different man when it comes on to grove and tone him just know him stuff
I agree with the comment for the most part but mento can also be monotonous special from a bassist's standpoint therefore, that every now and then enharmonic fill by the bass through a run once it's in a space and not covering the vocals is acceptable. This type of mento is still not the 'old days' type of mento which would be most suited for sumn like a muted pick but great interpretation from all four musicians. One is first a musician then an instrumentalist and each gave some insight of their knowledge of their fret boards.
Oshane showed his maturity and “seasoned-ness”, hewitt for me personally a deep a tone and he was a more lighter higher pitch bass player for mento i prefer deep tones thats my preference but i think Oshane showed more knowledge of when to transition between pitches
All the musicians are talented 👏 but it's king Dre 🤴🏾 (drebassie) for me . See the colors ? Royalty, kingship he's on fire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Watch talented, versatility and professionalism, Dre is a cut above the rest andreeeeeeee all the way.
Yow hear the man dem star talent you call this god given talent davion and andre very steady and clean oshane love the vybes Michael have some run deh yow the man dem bless yah man a swear father god just continue to cover them so that they continue in this part (drebass) big up you self real brother enu love the groove bro
A blessed blessed day to all. Don't know if anyone will find me showing any favorItism to Andre Hewitt as we both share the same surname. Yes we are related and yes its my son!! this makes me very proud to see him taking the TOP on this play off' all the players were good and all have room for improvement but i believe that most of you will agree with me that Andre a.k.a. (Drebass) has showed over all more steadiness among other skills, but what did you expect?A ME TEACH HIM plus its in his blood. WE ARE A FAMILY OF HARPIST... BIG UP JUNGLE LAVA BASSIST
Yea man bless up musicians yea man bass players u all did well *BUT* there's one style I noticed that all 4 of u play I enjoyed it music is not about who is badder or skiller because everyday u learn something new. Davina big up u self.
Jus saw this Very impressive performance Guys…Anyone who understand and know music on a very mature level and the discipline towards music then right there you would definitely say “oshane gayle” did a very great job being disciplined…I love your passing notes them oshane keep up the great job bro
These bass players are really talented. I can just imagine playing with them on a live gig. I must commend all the bassists Oshane Gayle, Andre Hewitt, Davion Carter and Michael Walker. Oshane and Michael took it home for me their skills riffs and moving up and down the guitar changing the tones to make it sound more interesting. Chris Bailey and the Music Hacks Network keep INSPIRING Musicians local and I am sure of course internationally.
Last Bassman Killed it with his fire rumba technique...After watching several times 1st and 3rd bass players are most technical...2nd bassman was steady.Any Tabs?
We need another challenge we these same bad players!!!!! This rumba bas challenge could be a huge thing! This blessed my soul! I loved a part of everyone’s rendition. I wish they all played more rumba! Mr Walker was just getting into the sweet sweet rumba bass at the end!
Big up yourself, Chris, and thanks for bringing us these beautiful programs. Such wonderful raw talents on display here. I think Mr. Michael Walker won, hands down. He really nailed it. Those runs, slides and colorful phrases left me spellbound. I am going to rename him Michael Lick Shot Walker :)
Awesome performances🧨🧨🧨⚡⚡. Its great to see musicians intune with their culture.. Its amazing to see the level of talent and flavour each musician brought... Especially enjoyed the various tone and authentic styles displayed 💯👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Nice playing from all…having fun exploring the different modes of expression with no fear of a few (bloopers)….a lot of folks do not see bass as a melodic instrument because it is often not seen as the primary “ lead voice “ in most genres…. They are mistaken, bass lines are multi purpose giving a solid foundation to a track all the while expounding counterpoint, harmonic interest and rhythmic motifs.. Listen to the Heptone’s Love without feeling or Bob Marley’s Lively up yourself.. Bassists big up ooonuh self… I’ll compare the four bassist profiled like this… Four brothers, four different vehicles, all travelling from Half Way Tree to Meadowbrook…..many different routes to get there….but get there they do! Jah bless!
All the pieces were really well done. It's obvious there are different interpretations of the composition. However, I think the most disciplined on all four pieces was Oshane's. The lines were more consistent with complementing the other instruments. Davion as usual has versatility and flair and is really my preferred bassist for mento but I have to give this one to Oshane because of the discipline he maintained although he used variations in tones and techniques.
Nah lie all a unuh bad nuh rasta but funny thing tho bally y your intro coming like school challenge quize so big up unuh dam self when i grow up i wanna b like unuh unuh bad mn
