      The way the narrative, the fiction is going nowadays explains how he feels and is. He is the lost last defender of art as we knew it.

    Incredible - the brilliant JLG keeps it coming.. perfectly understandable if you understand the politics of the image and enjoy thinking.

    • @DarkAngelEU

      Not necessarily restricted to the image, I studied photography (with two years of film school) and my brother studied literature. My brother loves postmodern literature, because it has an organic growth. Like Godard says, you start with an idea, and then life takes care of the rest. David Lynch's movies come to mind as well. Or early Tarantino. There is something extremely chaotic about them Hollywood could never fathom because ther movies are created at desks instead of on the scene. That's why they have a script and studios instead of a mise-en-scène.
      Today, there is a great tendency to go back to Hollywood traditions, and similar movements are seen in literature, where everything follows a similar structure that doesn't necessarily suit the theme or subject. Everything is set in stone, as if to say, and the movie or the book only takes you through the motions. There is no tolerance for chance or "happy accidents" to strike anymore, not in literature, not in movies, and afaik even the arts are turning into certitudes. I find this heavily concerning.
      Like, I was shocked when I went to watch Sundown and people were questioning out loud what the point of the movie was. This isn't a difficult movie to understand, but I guess because it was unconventional, people didn't have a clue how to judge it when it was finished? I should mention my regular venue heavily relies on superhero movies and the like for income, so maybe these people were expecting some Hollywood drama instead of a genuine portrayal of family .

    SMS save my soul? Really? Every time someone SMS's or TXT's me I have a fit. Always wanting something, needing some-thing, stealing my precious time, or sending some stupid meems or idiotic emoji's. Constant distractions. I far preferred it when there where no cell phones. I could leave the job, the friends, and have time to MYSELF! I prefer LMA's (Leave Me the F Alone)

    If someone would like to open up a discussion on the relationship, or should I say lack there of when filming a victim and the executioner, i'd be happy to play tennis with you.

    • @flynnjaman
      @flynnjaman 8 лет назад

      Well, when I first posted I was confused about the lack of relationship between the 2, until I thought that the lack is there, in the same way it's there when an executioner in real life has very little to do with the criminals, besides flipping the switch or plunging the needle in their arm.

    • @arnoldbrown6413
      @arnoldbrown6413 8 лет назад

      +Flynn Papandrea Godard was just talking about Hawks' use of shot-countershot when mentioning the executioner and the victim, he was not making any statements about the possibility of filming their relation etc.
