- Kiwi drift driver Mad Mike Whiddett returns for another season of Formula Drift competition.
The Formula Drift series is the premier US drifting series that drivers from all around the world aspire to compete in, since it’s first round in 2004.
Returning to the series after walking away with the Fan Favourite award in 2015, kiwi driver Mad Mike Whiddett and his generation2 RADBUL (Mazda MX5), get ready to let loose on the track. Due to treacherous rain conditions in the usually sunny Long Beach, California, the Formula Drift judges had no choice but to cancel the qualifying round.
“This was such a bummer, as for me coming from New Zealand, we have experience in these conditions” says Mad Mike. “As a team, we love the challenge of adapting to the track and weather, whatever it may bring.”
In this clip, Mad Mike and RADBUL have arrived stateside, ready to race in the first round of the competition.

yea they do. the thing is though it sounds so good even more so because rotary engines are a rare sight. and he's using it in a dominant sport of straight 6's and V8's but still gives them a hell of a run
+Patrick Pelletier there are a lot of rotaries here in NZ. It's actually a JDM heaven. We get cars from all over the world lol. My favourite will always be the madbul before he deemed it madbul. It was his street legal car back then and it was a camo painted beast. Lol it's original name was FURSTY haha.

Magnus walker spotted 7:47
interesting seeing what appeared to be Magnus Walker at 7:47. he has truly been a disappointment to me. i always looked up to him ever since he was on Jay Leno's garage. he crashed his famous 911 into a tractor-trailer about 6 months ago maybe a year now. back then i thought it was an honest mistake. but turns out he was racing on public streets during damp conditions with his usual street legal slicks. lost control. nearly hit a car in the oncoming lane and crashed into the trailer. not only that but ive seen a video of him actually racing the streets (not in a game) specifically on the highway with total disregard for public safety.
He wasn't racing he just simply lost control of the car
Dylan M did you see the video where he crashed into the trailer. He was definitely speeding and he wasnt driving to the road conditions. He was careless and put others in danger. You can definitely have your opinion but to deny that you put people at risk on public roads like he did on both videos is honestly blind. I do speed, and yes il admit i do double and have tripled the speed limit in sections but i always have my limit to where i know that if i go too fast and a car is around a bend il crash into them and i never go that far. I set the bar where i have control. He didnt, if he did he would have driven for the road conditions and he would not have crashed.
+Patrick Pelletier well I can't deny he definitely was speeding but I think it was mostly where the trailer was parked talking almost the entire lane with cars in the other lane leaving him not enough room to get through
Dylan M he lost control before the trailer so regardless of wether the trailer was there or not he would have curbed the car or hit the others in the oncoming lane.
