It’s nice to have another mixed hair loc person to look at for inspiration, I agree with only really having Gunther to kinda look at. Thank you for the vids 😁🙏🏽
Make more dread videos for us mixed folks! Just started my journey 1 month ago, they keep coming out but I'm hanging in there. Sick of gunther's videos, keep making them bro, help us out!
I wish I saw this video in December, I cut off 2+ years of growth, was just rocking cornrows back then though but ima use this advice! Gonna stop doing my waves, thanks my guy
Yeah there are sooooo many loc journey videos and almost none are mixed people. All the mixed people have like a starter loc vid and then…🦗🦗🦗it’s nice to have an example that’s close to how my starters are going to look months down the line. I’m sitting on two weeks lol. No one believes I’ll stick with it but it’s happening. Long way to say please continue to show us your journey. That Gunther dude seems cool but your locs look better to me.
yo i got like a loose curl pattern but it puffs up when its like dry and im jus wonderin how to start locs for a loose curl pattern any help/advice would be beneficial 🙏🏼
hey love ur locs man they look great I'm mixed and this has definitely been so helpful i think my hair is a bit tighter than urs around 4a but still pretty loose i feel how many locs u have? and do u know how think or denser ur hair is by chance?
Thank you for that! I’m glad I can help, tighter curl will be way better for this then, I’m not sure how many I got tbh😂 and with density I couldn’t really tell you but I’m not balding or anything like that yet if that helps.
I love your locs. I’m gonna start my journey soon but idk how to start them. My hairs similar to yours so you got any tips on how to start them and what to get first🙏🙏🙏
@@IKrossovers nah u don’t got to, it just helped me organize my Locs so I could keep them separated while they were locing up, since before I would have to split. Nah I think my hair would be a lil more crazy so not as neat towards the scalp.
Im mixed with black Mexican and white and im like a month in with my dreads how do I keep my tips blunted shi is hard af I’ll wake up the next day n the tips will be loose n curly like they not locked or blunted
Wassgood g, for me honestly it takes a couple months to see it get blunted that first moth all you gotta do is make sure it’s taking for then it’ll do it job
@@yusepe1067 I appreciate that, I guess you could call it palm rolling but it more on the lines of just separating them out again and then yeah rolling them but that’s usually done in the front of the head for appearance wise.
Im personally not with it. The reason is cause locs imo is a very personal experience and if you just jump straight to the end they might look like the real deal but deep down you know you cheated. That’s just me. If you want to do it go right ahead just watch some mixed instant loc videos first lmao. Hope this helped!
When you started freeforming did you have styling moisturizing creams or gels in your hair already? I have type 3 curls but if they are not moisturized they look like a soft afro, easily moldable but it doesn’t seem to curl the way yours do, when I did wash n gos at the fourth day they would start tangling and stuff but I think it was because of how curly they were due to previously defining them
Nah the only styling stuff that I used was whatever I washed my hair with and then occasionally some oil but all of this was in the roots. When it got wet and dried tho too that’s when I started to separate them as well
Yes you can definitely follow the same steps but just remember since our curl is looser we gotta be even more patient so stay dedicated for a couple months and see if you see any progress. Good luck!

Wassgood bro, sounds like u got a fro, my advice would be to just let the fro grow out so your can see the curl pattern take shape.

Good shit bro lmk how it goes!
Do you have to get retwists? What are the benefits of getting retwists? Would you hair look how it looks in this without getting retwists?

So how do you only wash the root, and do you just let get matted
I been trying to get locs for a long time and every time there either too fat or thin
Im mixed and have very loose curls to wavy hair( 2c to 3a hair) and i dont really know how to start my dreads can somebody help me?
in the first weeks should I wash my shi or wait till a month?
(Im a week and a half into it)
thanks anyways
Probably should just wait it out to see if you can get anything to form, then do a light wash, the timing is different for everyone tbh.

What are u mixed with? Because I’m African American Dominican 🇩🇴Puerto Rican🇵🇷 White, & Native American 🪶 and got dreads fairly easily
That’s dope, I’m mixed with Cameroonian and American!
Wait so are you not able to pick out the root to make it stick up?
I don’t know why you would want to pick out the root, I’m just looking for max growth so I leave the roots.

Do your loca look too frizzy when you look at them close? My starter locs are very frizzy rn but I was told frizz is very common for loose curls
The frizz is very normal my friend!

whatre you mixed with bc im half Trinidadian half indian with like a 3B hair type
Cameroonian and American
yo how is ur hair like two toned is it genetic or like its sun bleached or what
It was sun bleached naturally, I talked a lil about it in the video!

Yes you can definitely follow the same steps but just remember since our curl is looser we gotta be even more patient so stay dedicated for a couple months and see if you see any progress. Good luck!
I would also say with the spread bottle don’t be to harsh or your coils will get messed up.
