I grew up on physical discipline. I'm 15 now and I just found out that it isn't normal. My mum used to hit me if I couldn't tie my shoes at 3 or I didn't know the answer to a question on my homework that she was supposed to help me with. She basically sat and watched TV with me doing everything on my own throughout my childhood. Also we can't forget the verbal and emotional abuse aswell.

My mum is too nice for her own good though.. I really wished I had a normal family dynamic. I grew up on physical discipline. I'm 15 now and I just found out that it isn't normal. My mum used to hit me if I couldn't tie my shoes at 3 or I didn't know the answer to a question on my homework that she was supposed to help me with. She basically sat and watched TV with me doing everything on my own throughout my childhood. Also we can't forget the verbal and emotional abuse aswell.

I'm sorry :( I kind of have an opposite problem. My siblings always seem to be very disrespectful to my mum. I feel like as we grew up my parents became less strict. My mum is too nice for her own good though.. I really wished I had a normal family dynamic. I'm quite a shy and dependent individual and I can't stop thinking that if I had a set of parents who were more strict and just parented differently I would perhaps be more outgoing and do more things outside by myself. I don't know if I have social anxiety, and it's just me.
