This takes a different kind of toughness woodsmanship and determination. Making it all come together with the wind, crunchy snow, and cold conditions after tracking for MILES is an art. I give you guys a lotta credit man, you’re a dying breed! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a lot Jeff! Appreciate the thoughtful comment. Honestly, I wouldn’t rather do it any other way! In my opinion, there is nothing more rewarding. It’s the ultimate sense of accomplishment and fulfillment when things all come together. Hard earned just makes it that much sweeter in the end!
at least you saw a deer. Some people in Maine don't see a deer all season. With all those Massholes moving up to Vermont are you losing your public land as well?
Finally had a chance! Had a great week all in all. Vermont’s public land and unposted land is definitely dwindling each year. Makes it harder to find good areas to hunt especially with limited deer populations in the mountains.
Actually it’s more the Connecticut and NY people that head to VT ! 91 is an easy ride ! That’s who posts their land .
I haven't finished the video yet, but, brother man, please stop being so hard on yourself for blowing it.Use it,as a learning lesson. We all have done it.
Thanks Sean, appreciate the words of encouragement! You're absolutely right. I have only ever missed a couple in my life, and never a buck of that caliber! It was a tough one to deal with that day, but we live and learn and improve going forward!
No luck in lead unless its flyin!
Well said! Gotta let it fly.
In those moments of truth it’s so easy to mess up. Don’t beat yourself up. You got him to do exactly what you wanted. That’s pretty cool! Great tracking snow, can’t get much better quiet tracking.
Thanks Steve. Great memories and some lessons learned that day! Those moments are what make us better hunters. Live and learn, ended up taking a nice buck the very next day so it all worked out in the end!
GREAT hunt I’m sure it was a kick in the seat of your pants but like they said everyday we learn new things hunting is a HUGE learning experience they are being hunted you are in their house it’s tough to do that you’re a great SPORTSMAN 👍🏼👍🏼🦌🇺🇸THANK YOU for sharing all these videos I feel like I’m there with you it’s AWESOME👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸WISHING you all the best 👍🏼🦌🇺🇸
I’ve messed up on few monsters! I had one literally 15 ft from me and my wife! We were on a monster we looped around he ran up bank rite to us and stoped broadside at 15 and my wife forgot to put a bullet in! He had to 225 anyways and just a monster rack. My wife was sooo upset but she ended up getting 218 pound 9 pointer the next day same place but not same deer
Awesome! We definitely learn a lot from the ones that get away. Painful lessons sometimes but memories to last a lifetime. Always improving and learning.
Looked like a great hunt to me. Thats one you will remember forever even though you didn't kill anything.
Thanks David! You're absolutely right. It's about far more than the kill... the journey along the way and the lessons learned are all memories that last a lifetime and there's always something to take away and help improve going forward. Thanks for the comment!
I know how sick you felt after that shot, done the same thing a few times in my 50 years of hunting. Nothing to do but push on and hope for another encounter. Nice video Kyle 👍
That's right William! Appreciate the encouragement. Sometimes, stuff happens... it's how we react and move on that makes the difference!
@@WanderingWhitetails looking forward to #4 !!!
Thanks! It'll be a good one! Lots of great memories.
Great job with all your videos. Nothing like the Big Woods Up North. I hunt the ADKs and would not want to be anywhere else
Thanks @pamtnman! I really appreciate the comment and feedback. You've got that right... there is nothing better. Those hard earned bucks are the greatest reward there is! Thanks for always following along.
My ol man said when your calling to an unseen deer, you better have your head on a swivel. But he only told me that after i had this same situation happen to me lol... Now ya tell me, well i thought you knew better, was his reply.
Haha! That’s for sure!! He knew best as they always did. I’ll admit, I thought I had just about cured my buck fever… but it’s something that will always be deep down in there for us and loves to rear it’s ugly head on those huge bucks! A buck that’ll be forever burned into my mind, and I surely won’t forget that feeling or moment. It’s all a part of the experience as a whole!
@@WanderingWhitetails A buck like that is the reason we keep at it every year and give it our all....I would be looking hard at getting to the other side of that Brook for next year.
Great video. 👍🏻
Thanks Craig! Appreciate it.
Great video and hunt, big bucks have a way of startling veteran hunters. Best of luck!
Thanks Al! Appreciate it. He surely caught me off guard! A buck I’ll never forget. The chase and challenge never end. Onward to the next… Thanks for the comment!
That was some thick woods dang.
Sure was!
that was a huge bed. how far was the shot?
That's for sure! He was an absolute giant! I never paced it off but if I were to guess... only about 40 yards or so. Tough one to come to terms with.
Tough luck man…like you said, it happens. I’m glad the final outcome is positive! Can’t wait for part 4…
Thanks man! Definitely a tough one on a buck of that magnitude, but it’s a part of hunting. Part 4 will be fun!
Like the video and the channel !
Thanks Brian! Appreciate that.
Hit the tree 🌳 I've done worse... lol😂
Haha! Happens. Doing a little light logging! I definitely hit a tree, but not the one directly in front of me. That was just bark flying from the carbine muzzle blast.
Been there actually the day after thanksgiving surprise there he was shot and missed hang in there I know I’m waiting for another chance next season great video thanks for sharing
Thanks Todd! Good luck getting back out there after them next season! It’s always tough but we learn and move forward. Stay tuned for Part 4 (the day after).
Great video!! I’ve gotten 3 of my biggest bucks on thanksgiving day rite behind my house in the green mountains all over 200 pounds. Love watching your videos I’m actually starting to do some myself and a lot of shed hunts. Working on number 43 in our shed count
Thanks Daniel! Appreciate it. Looking forward to the day I earn a patch buck myself.
Great hunt man!!!!!!!
