    Keeping an eye out for these, great vid! How do you usually cook them up?

      Thankyou! Usually with lots of garlic and butter! The second half of this video was meant to be a recipe for marinated mushrooms in tempura batter but I had to go away the weekend so couldn't get it filmed - Maybe I should do it next week with a few different mushroom species, what do you think?
      Hope you're well

      Yum, everything's good with lots of garlic and butter 😍 would love to see that! :)
      Really glad you're back! I'm a beginner forager (Netherlands) and these video's make it so accessible. Also hoping to go out for shaggy inkcaps soon. Are they any good in your opinion?

      @eline95 so glad you’re enjoying them, we actually found some shaggy ink caps on one of my foraging walks the other week - a local artist came and used them as ink for an illustration, it was super cool!

      Woaw, that's awesome! I didn't know it could actually be used as ink 😍 so much to discover!
      Hope you have a great weekend!

    4:43 to 5,50 = how to identity this as a safe edible (= snakeskin on the stem). Avoid similar with a smooth white stem.

    • @WeAreAllOneNature
      @WeAreAllOneNature 2 месяца назад

      I've been eating shaggy ink caps recently. They have smooth white stems.
      Also last week (mid October), I ate shaggy parasols for the first time without realising they could cause problems. Luckily all = ok. Presumably it's ok for me to eat them in the future?

    • @Fieldstudy_
      @Fieldstudy_  2 месяца назад +1

      So shaggy parasols only make a fraction of the population ill, if you have eaten them and were fine then I think you must be among the lucky ones!
      My advice though would be to maybe only try a small bit the next couple of times you eat them and monitor your body's reaction. Better to be cautious when introducing new things to your diet then suffer because of it.

    We had so many fails today. I picked up poison pie and burnt knights. There were a couple I just could not identify which was a shame

      Oh no! Every day is a good day if you’re out looking for mushrooms though, regardless of what you come home with! It’s been a bit of a strange season down here on the island 🏝️

      @@Fieldstudy_ I much prefer seaside foraging but I think pollution has been too high for many months so I haven't gone. Apparently I look crazy collecting sea lettuces at low tide anyway 😅
