Thankful for having an Indian best friend between the ages of 5-13 who introduced me to Bollywood movies and I'm half white half Jamaican but love these movies😂
It's only now that I'm older that I realise how similar Balrag is to the written Bingley. He is sweet, rather easy to convince, always ready to dance, adorable as always, forever trying to get Darcy to lighten up, and just completely besotted by Jane
They did such a nice job of making 19th century English characters intiomodern Indians. The strong traditions and strictures placed on unmarried women translated beautifully. I enjoyed this movie before I read or saw Pride and Prejudice, but it's even better with the overlays.
The one thing that always impressed me with this movie was how truthful it was about Indian culture and morals and never made a single woman stand out more or less, aside from the brides. Everyone got to be a star with costumes, hair EVERYTHING Hollywood tends to have the main characters in the brightest clothing so you know who they are, but this film broke the stereotypes I've come to dislike over time
Great production great director great adaptation beautifully shot and the actors really made this a wonderful film. I love this movie soo soooooo much.
Idk why cuz I’m not usually into rom coms but I love this movie so much. Even tho I’m not well connected with my Indian heritage, there’s a spiritual connection
they r not girl anymore...they r now Women.... the orange one Aishwarya Rai...former miss world 1994 winner the pink one is Namrata.... former miss universe.. 1993 forth runners up.
@@nimrahkhan9105 Nobody needs to feel insecure about their looks unless somebody points out that they don't look good enough or don't "fit in like they're expected to". At the same time, somebody who is "conventionally" considered good-looking doesn't have to be brought down to make others feel good about themselves. The tone of your previous comment makes it look like you are hating on her since you mentioned "had many plastic surgeries"/"changed her skin colour"-nobody knows the exact truth about it so don't think you're stating facts.
This part (bridge?) from 3:00 is absolutely perfect. I hope it blows up on tik tok or other social media like the Dekha Tenu riff from Shava Shava and gets it's own life.
i honestly didnt get that impression...it was a great movie...and honestly i love indian culture as well as the men even more now then i did before watching the movie
Although I’m not Indian. I’m Bangladeshi. But our weddings are very similar to Indian weddings and Mendhi since we dance to desi songs and wear desi clothes
1 of my fav scenes in this movie... Bollywood movies r the best they go on for hrs n I'm still waiting 4 more... I Love the Passion n the Dancing... Indians are just soo Indian... lol Love them ...
I am so happy that in the movie they still marry and that her life isn't ruined. What was that that her mother would have a problem with or something?I can't even imagine that the character of his mother wouldn't approve.Maybe some cream or something?
This is just one fun movie to experience. The end credit song looks like everyone had a blast on the set.

And we used to sing and dance the songs out in the playground 😂
⁰@@saffbryana5999
This song's energy is on another level. Naveen Andrews danced well.
This was my favorite movie as a little kid. I was obsessed with India and the people/culture 😭
Don't Worry me too
I was a 40yr old Canadian when I first watched this, suddenly all the East Indians I worked with made sense. Sort of.
Me too👌
Do you still Do? Or was it a was phase Lol?
@@arnavroy3383 😂😂😂
23 years old this movie was my childhood love from the islands ❤
Finally I've listened to this song during the quarantine after over a decade. My little cousin used to sing this all the time in childhood.
This movie is such a damn classic! Love it so much! ♥️

You could tell Darcy was going to fall for her just by the way he watched her.
Balraj fell for Jaya the second he saw her, same thing for William & Lalita.

I've always loved how well this song incorporates folk Punjabi wedding songs!

they r not girl anymore...they r now Women....

Aishwarya had many plastic surgeries and she tries to make her skin look white even though she was brown initially.

I'm West Indian and I love this movie. The dance and dress all the beautiful colours.
I feel bad for the mom... she's singing such a nice part and everyone is just laughing at her, while her family is embarrassed :(
rnjbond they are trying to stay to character from the original Mrs. Bennett who was always silly
rnjbond i laugh at her too 😂
That was the best part of the celebration
She was making it about herself, as she was singing about her beauty when the celebration was for the new couple.
At least, that's how it was explained to me by my non-Indian mother so what do I know
Martin henderson has the prettiest smile 😍
I had to go back and pause so many times to see his smile lol
This movie is still lit 2022🔥
Such a catchy song
Only Aish can make it sexy and classy and beautiful all at the same time. Ppl are only looking at her dancing.
