A lot of work and effort went into this excellent website from a very well informed guy.... thanks so much for making things easy for the rest of us out there! Love the big burger and your tutorials.
Separating the lower and upper halves of the cover makes getting out and replacing the top right 8mm bolt much easier. A flexible socket extension is also necessary.
I wish I would watch this before I attempted my own as I tried to pull the filter element out and destroyed it so I had to order a new one which was around $20 because of the shipping
Hi Ledude. I had an old CVT filter that I had washed nice and clean before that I put into storage after replacing it with a new one last time. Now, as I’m ready to switch back, I notice that my old cleaned up one has the rubbery gasket seal along the edge starting to fall apart and crumble. I’m wondering if I should chance using it as the filter since the housing is pristine but I’m worried that that edge seal might continue to fall apart and the pieces could slip past the edge and into the CVT unit or at the very least, not provide an adequate seal around the filter. Could the crumbling edge seal lead to a serious issue, do you think?
I have a question for you. I notice that from time to time, I get the dash of my 2003 Burgman 650 flickering and at times after starting the motor stalls, or even refuses to start. What could be the cause of this annoying phenomen? When I get started the scooter runs excellent though and it very responsive. Strange. I checked the battery and all connections.
you can take it out and clean it with a soft brush and compressed air, replace it if the foam is falling apart. check the DIY for it on my burgman center for more detailed instructions.

The top foreward 8mm bolt is a pia to take out. I didn't bother reinstalling it.
I guess it's on the left side - you cannot see this on the video.

but the speed stop on 70km/h
what is the problem? ??
Have you been able to find out what the problem was? I am guessing that there was an issue with the transmission. May be wrong.
