Hey, Griffin! I think your videos are really informative. I’m a fairly new EIT, and I’m working on bid documents for the first time. Could you dedicate a video to teaching about bid documents and contracts? It’s one of those classes that I found to be the most forgettable in college, and in the real world, it’s a little overwhelming.

Hello! Appreciate the comment and suggestion. I can certainly make a video about bid documents. What questions in particular do you have so I can form a good agenda? Below is what I have in mind:
      - Timing of when to send “bid plans”
      - Importance of tracking revisions
      - Generating quantity takeoffs
      - Understanding the contract language

@@griffinfurlong Most of that sounds completely new to me, so that’s a great start. Haha! This is a little bit unrelated, but contract delivery methods (design-bid-build, etc.) seem to have a lot of little details that can affect the bidding process, of course. Some of the other things I’m having to learn are,
      - Advertising a project / inviting contractors privately.
      - Private bidding vs. Public bidding
      - bid schedules
      - Pre-bid meetings
      - Addenda
      - Staging areas
      - estimating a project timeline
      - bonds (bid, performance, there’s another one that slips my mind at the moment)
      - liquidated damages
      - substantial completion
      - pay applications
A big factor in all of this is coordinating with the owner, too. It’s especially difficult in this particular project because they ask me questions, but I’m learning a lot of this for the first time, also.
I hope that’s helpful to you. Thanks for the response!

@@94dpowers Hey bud, how did this go for you?
What has been the lesson you can pass down to others from your point of view, assuming your contract process went through.
      I am interested to know/learn.
      Thanks in advance.
