If you're from NY, and old enough in the 90's you know that Artist was a huge name in highschool basketball. I forget what he was ranked nationally, so to see him Get a ring with the Mamba RIP, was storybook level. Especially with all the ups and downs of his career. But his run on Houston was like when he was in high school, a dominant force on the court. Great interview! And Great theme music RIP NIP!

Metta's maturity is off the charts, it doesn't seem that he is just buying in to the "politically correct posture" that greats are mandated to abide to, he actually believes in it and even corrects himself to keep his composure looking absolutely respectable. he's come a long way, and seems happier with himself after that distance. go ahead, bro!

59:53 MWP - " that's all @BenSimmons have to do take the in rhythm shot no matter whether he misses it or makes it so that his team can get the chance to get the defensive rebound " , (Certified gem from A champion in MWP) if Ben Simmons practice that very thought the same as the physical shot he should easily be able to fix his shot issue "Champion Vantage" point of view WOW.

Man this was a great interview. Metta got a whole new respect from me. When he told Shay if you bring a 26 year old Artest back I dont wanna play with a superstar. That was a great response. He want to beat the best not join them. I like that Artest.

32:00 I think the reason players in todays game are so skilled is because they have more freedom physically becuase there is no contact allowed. Todays NBA is a 5v0 scrimmage compared to the 90's. Defence is handcuffed in todays game ... and so skilled players can shoot shots with little to no contest. In the 90's players had to shoot with handcuffs on and with cement blocks on. the physical game was way more tiring physically.

I feel you the floor space and getting rid of bigs has allowed guys to have more room to be creative. But they actually don’t shoot better just check they just shoot more 3’s but their are a couple of years in the early 2000’s where the league shot better slightly

Agree 1000% its the same argument with the nfl. Yes Brady is the best today. His numbers are off the charts. But brady is not getting beat up like Marino or Montana either. So he can make those high numners of throws and catches.

It wasn't the nba it was the conservative media at the time who loved controlling the narrative, that's why these podcasts by professional athletes are a game changer
