+Zander Buhler Are you sure it's coincidental? I was just listening to Robert Levin talk about things like this, e. g. compare the last movements of K. 414 and K. 488. Levin said K. 414 was on Mozart's writing desk while he was writing K. 488. ruclips.net/video/6fN1l_D9hkE/видео.html
I am a violist in a local amateur orchestra and playing this work with the friend of another hornist. The last movement is definitely A Hunting We Will Go, complete with jodhpurs, riding boots, hunting pink jacket and helmet. And the horse to finish the impression!
ANNIE: What's an, anem-one? JUNE: It looks like a plant, but it's really a sea creature. ALL: Ooh!! ANNIE: Well, Little Whale's not behind the anemone.
I love the pure sound of Mozart, it’s so relaxing 😌
I love how at 13:45 the melody seems to refer to the second movement. Little bits of connective tissue like that go a long way in a piece.
Exactly!
That modulation was wonderful...I can't believe it.
It reminds me of Piano Concerto 21 in some moments
It also reminds me of concerto n.22 in the same key (E flat major)!
@@enricochestrithere is a melody that is exactly the same in 21 first movement
i was gonna flatter the soloist until i notied it's dennis brain. NEVERMIND...OF COURSE it's great! :)
0:25 the short melodic phrase is the one from Piano Concerto no. 21 C Major, first movement
Teemu no, actually this horn concerto was written prior to the piano concerto..
Such a great piece, thanks for uploading and sharing! :)
Bella música, me encantó!!!... 👍👍
Beautiful concert.
Bravo, I love french horn.
The third movement sounds very similar to the third movement of the piano concerto no 22 (both coincidentally in e flat major!)

@@GSHAPIROY The Meow Mix melody in Mvmt 1 K. 467 is present in this piece at 5:05 with a nice metric shift.
Brilliant!
So much fun to play on tenor horn ;)
Wonderful ! Thank you for posting :)
Great, thanks for uploading!
I wish there had been this facility to follow the score when I was starting out.
Magnificent!
Thanks for uploading!

June's fun fact about anemones
"It looks like a plant, but it's really a sea creature"
I bet you don't get the reference.
I sort of get it, can you explain?
Is it the little Einsteins?
Kudos to Mozart

Ok so how is interest maintained in the excerpt through the use of pitch
There are many areas where he is withholding resolution.
Daniella said this was a banger
is there an error in the score or did he do an ad-lib solo halfway through the piece?
Edit: 6:05
Yeah, its known as a cadenza, basically a short improvised solo
sometimes not so short lol
Why are the string parts of mozart horn concertos so hard
Because the key of E flat (which suits the horn) is awkward for the strings. But the music is so beautiful it doesn't matter.
Are they?
Ohh 1st mvt has an almost similar passage from the 1st mvt of his 21st piano concerto
Who the fuck puts ads in a horn concerto
