At 2:22 did you say it's a 2 cycle engine? ....in a valve adjustment video? I believe you mean 4 cycle engine. Thanks for sharing, lots of helpful info. Tip: Consider getting a go-no go thickness gauges as they provide more info.
Nice video...pls my generator keeps going off after a few minutes, like the fuel is finished but there is enough fuel and oil...can the ohv valves be the issue?
I'm not really a mechanic, but several reasons why it is happening: 1. Old or bad fuel 2. Electrical problems. So if there is a short or if you hook up too many things to run on the generator, it may automatically shut off 3. If you have low oil level, it will shut off. 4. Air filter clogged. Wash it and wait until dry. 5. Rubber fuel line clogged. OR the fuel filter is clogged. Fuel filter is inside the tank, right where the rubber hose is attached. Try using the choke, when it is about to die to see if it is a fuel or carburator problem. Download and read manual for FAQ.
Starting kick is very hard. Removed the spark plug and then tried to pull the cord, found all ok .Tried multiple times with plug removed ,it was ok as usuall. But when installed back the spark plug,it became hard. What is the problem?
@@MuhammadWaseem-wd4nu It may be that you 1. adjuster on the wrong stroke or 2. Maybe the adjustment was too tight or too loose. (Did you use the correct gap distance?) 3. Or hopefully nothing fell in, when you opened and closed the spark plugs. 4. How old is the gasoline inside the tank? If you tried it right before you adjusted the valves and it was fine, then skip this, but if the gas is a few months old, drain and add new gas. 5. You still have to use the choke until engine is warm. 6. Did the spark plug wire get damaged? Any sparks while running? I would say the cause is most probably 1. or 2.
If the problem is robe hard to pull, I believe you need to replace the Recoil Assembly. However if you have the same brand generator as mine, you have a starter, you do not need to use the rope at all.
It's actually a 4-stroke engine, not a 2-stroke, but the adjustment lesson was spot on! Thank you!
Also, i'd do the 1st valve adjustment at 50 hrs , not 250 !
Thank you so much John this was a very informative video
YES, YES YES ...that is the correct way ...the piston can be [ DTC] Dead Top Center, but it must be in the correct stroke. A+ on this video !!

yes, 4 cycle
You can get 45 degree angled feeler guages (rather than flat ones) that make this job easier
Very good tutorial but don’t forget to replace valve cover gasket also.

What is the problem?
Did it became hard to start after valve adjustment or spark plug gap adjustment?
@@JohnSadoughi It became hard soon afer valve adjustment.
@@JohnSadoughi Is it because of poor valve adjustment or something else in gears?

Appreciated.
What if the rope is hard to drag and the valves are already set, what could be the cause

Who makes the engines for Firman? B&S? Honda? Or...?
No idea.
4 cycle , NOT a 2 cycle
Valves are adjusted at TDC, top dead center.
Nice

4 cycle
