      I'm 25 and I been off and on carving since I was like 16 but coming across Kevin's videos inspired me to get back into it as well I also spent a lot on new carving knives 😂

    I love the sound of the big chips hitting the table. I am never confident enough to take off that much wood in one swipe. It seems you use that curved blade knife more than the straight blade fish knife. Just test driving or do you find it works better. Thanks for sharing.

      I was like that at one time. The more I use the upswept knife the more I’m liking it. I still use my fish knives everyday

    As usual i have watched your video several times and I just want to say that when you black out the area you want to remove including the layout lines it makes it much easier for me to see the progress.

    Great work you make it look so easy. Do you have any patterns I could get to use for a cut out? You do great work with white pine. A lot of other covers use what they call bass wood. I don't know what it is. Keep up the grade A work.

      Thanks. Pine is pretty much all that’s available to me here where I live. I enjoy carving pine so it works good for me

    I find this so frustrating Ihave never carved anything at all. You have a few lines marked out and promptly cut away all of the side edges without marks! I am so lost as to how to set out my piece!

      The two knives I use here was given to me by a subscriber. It’s only fair I use them. Kinda like them too. Still use my fish knives everyday on my bigger carvings

      I get it either at Kent or Home Depot. The pine comes from eastern Canada. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Quebec. Somewhere in that part of Canada I think.

      Here where I live the wood get trucked into the province to those two store’s. The thing is most of it is1” thick. If you get lucky you may get 1.5” thickness sometimes. I have to go into the store to get it.
