    F-ing amazing. This is extraordinary! If somebody doesn't think this f-ing amazing, he or she needs to leave and go do a hand-stand on the freeway... Serving a drink is pretty impressive but some time very soon I hope he learns all the nuances necessary for him to roll a superb, fat-ass joint. I'll know we've made it as a species when I see that. Honda engineers need get this on the drawing boards immediately.

      It surprised the hell out of me it could actually talk I said why hello! I Know how robots work he said no SuPrize thanks man that was ASSIMO talking to me he’s just following his programming was shaking to the bone went home screaming I was talked to by a robot! She said you’re making this up I said nope

    Imho it's a great achievement, even a greater if you consider that's autonomous
    we could complain that he didn't screw the cap back on, but it's a great robot anyway :D

    People think that robots, like Asimo, are being made to be our servants, but in actually these robots are more precious to the inventors than any human being. That's the reality now, and will continue to be that way, in the future.

  • @tuberyou1149
    @tuberyou1149 9 лет назад

    It's got all the basic movements down for this task. It's a matter of making the movements more fluid. I think that if they could do that they would. It seems that computational power is the stumbling block to making this series of actions more human like. I wonder if it's going to take something like a quantum computer to make it a reality. I believe that's how the human brain functions. As a natural quantum computer. How else could we humans do what we do? When you realize the complexity of the programming necessary for Asimo to make these movements it's clear that the human mind is computing at speeds that are faster by orders of magnitude.

    At 2:00 the robot is opening the lid anti-clock wise. How did the robot know that the lid can be opened that way? Has it been programmed to turn the lid that way?..If so, this robot is still too far from being 'intelligent'. There is no evidence in this video that the robot tried opening it clock-wise. Having said that, there is a possibility that the robot could have been programmed to try opening the lid anti-clock wise first and if that doesn't work, then try clock-wise. We may not know the truth.

    • @TheGr0eg
      @TheGr0eg 10 лет назад +6

      1. That would be really easy to implement.
      2. I don't think ASIMO is designed to simulate or emulate intelligence. Whats interesting about this model are its physiological capabilities.

    • @Hppyhppy2
      @Hppyhppy2 9 лет назад +1

      Everything in the video is absolutely 100% pre programmed. That being said, it's still remarkable the physics its capable of. And in the future the programs can be extensible. Meaning as more functions are built in the more abilities it will gain.

    ps I collect robots and know how they work use them every day for Christmas this year got a 1'st mini of this with a remote is this is too exspenseve like for just one is just as much as robo-sapien is and walks on wheels and v1 i have it but its 2016 it’s gone though in 2022 it broke love this ones mini because it dances to mostly Mexican music because it flows so much better but the hands don’t close and move like this one this is so impressive it had fingers like we do and can serve drinks why not serve food now and also walk to a store and get groceries would be so cool since it’s ben so hot now here thats a good Idea to add a thought from ms making it happen would be good for older folks but out in the rain woulden't be good because it might get messed up or wet believe it or not it actually ran to me I screamed so loud in the neighborhood after said a robot walked up to me!

    'll yield the point on the guard. When I saw it, just seemed like the usual Abrams recipe "and we'll have one of those, but bigger, with blinking lights" - all flash no content. And the soccer ball thing...I just can't deal with that. I'm probably more sensitive after the awful AI and robotics portrayed in Interstellar. We already have cooler robots. This is from 2011 - ruclips.net/video/Bmglbk_Op64/видео.html I think there's 9/1 odds he'll have major plot inconsistencies, bad character motivations, and will mainly just throw together a few tropes to give a nice Star Warsy soup.
