I love this story Jared. Reminds me of the stories I heard from my grandparents and great grandparents. They didnt live in the south but my momma and her family came from a place in PA where they were just like this. Just brings back good memories. Thank you brother.
YO!! So glad you enjoyed it sister!! Yeah I've heard about lots of places that was just like the south!! They also have some amazing stories as well!! Love ya bunches God bless and STAY AWESOME KIM!! 🤙😎💙
Kindness can sure go a long way . Just a smile ,kind word or sharing . I didn't grow up with feuds although I did hear about them. I swear though if Granny could have she would have started one. Back then at her place they had party lines with a different ring for each party. Granny listened in on everyone and would try stir things up. If she couldn't stir things up she sure let everyone know the neighbours business.I grew up being able to shoot as soon as I could walk and carry a gun.It was necessary in that area for two reasons protection from critters especially bears and for food. Love your stories and I'm always able to find something I can relate to in them . Much Love❤❤Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Oh wow that sounds like my granny 🤣🤣😂 I remember stories about the old party lines and folks having to wait on other gossiping so they could use the phone 😂😂. Love ya bunches God bless and STAY AWESOME Debbie 🤙😎💙💙
WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS REMIND ME OF MY YOUTH WITH MY GRAND PARENTS . THEY WERE VERY POOR. WHEN I WAS LITTLE MY GRANDAD AND I HAD TO WALK ACROSS A FIELD SEVERAL HUNDREDS YARDS TO DRAW WATER FROM A WELL FOR DRINKING. WATER FROM THE SISTERN WAS FOR WATERING CHICKENS AND BATHING.
Love hearing your stories we use to get together and have fish fries dinners with family and friends and play music and had homemade ice cream and opened up a water Mellon. Good times .
Jared, I am an elder of kinfolk who moved from WV to NC in 1989 due to too many layoffs on my ex, who of course became my ex, but we are friends now that we are old due to no other kin here. I love your stories like a warm welcome home. Sorry that your heart is acting up, but hang in there bc I was born with heart defects so the docs told my parents expect a 1-4 year life expectancy. My grandson turned 18 last February, so God is always good and in charge. Just a reminder from a lonely grandma in NC bc my son & his family stay working, what I moved here for. I learned there’s always work here but not as much pay lol. So glad you & yours stayed home with our kin. I love you all so hope you get well soon. ❤
God bless you Crystal and thank you so much for the prayers and for watching and enjoying kinfolk. So glad the lord kept ya around 🙏 he definitely did that for a reason! He is definitely amazing and good! Thank you so much for watching. God bless and have a good'n
Ahh mannn I missed the premiere, but watching now bro!! Awesome stories brother! I literally feel like I'm back in that time watching things play out! Much 💛💛 bro!!
Yes, I've heard about the good ol' days about how they walked backwards three miles in two or three feet of snow, I kid you not! That's what they said! LOL And yes, uphill both ways! HAHA! In truth, when I was a teen, we DID have to walk a half mile (entirely level) in a couple of feet in the snow to catch the bus. And from there, school was twenty miles away in another town.
Growing up in the West in a small town in Eastern Oregon was much like Appalachia. Family and Neighbors were important. Church was a center of the community. Helping neighbors get their hay in, or cattle branded was a way of life. I even remember helping fight wild fires to protect neighbors homes.
Hey Keith! Thank you so much for watching brother. Thank you for sharing that, I remember reading about some of the early Appalachian trapper's would travel to Oregon from time to time to hunt certain kind of fur! So great hearing about other places that's the exact same in lots of ways. God bless you and your kin, Merry Christmas and have a good'n Keith!
Love these stories brother, People now a days can really learn from the elders if they would just take the time and listen. Maybe the world would change for the better. I have heard of many places like this. Its like your bringing us back it time each time you tell us one of these stories. Keep up the awesome stories, Stay Safe and Keep Smiling..love you brother and my sister Lora and my nephews. I always say, family isnt always blood. It's who you choose to have in your life. When I call someone brother or sister..its coming from the heart and I will always be there for you. 🤗❤️
Loved the video, reminds me of stories my aunt used to tell me when I was little. Could listen to you tell stories all day long. Thanks again for another great story.
@@JaredKingTV Always enjoy your content, it’s given me motivation to work on today’s new video I’ve been planning for ages, so thank you! Love you guys, I’ll stay awesome if you will! ❤️
Nooooo don't stop bending our ears, you are quite welcome to bend my ear to whatever shape you want to. I very much appreciate the shout out and thank you so much for doing that. I am just one of the many that love and respect what you and Lora put into your channels to produce the awesome content and the positivity you share, when I know you are dealing with things yourselves. I love your video and the research you have done, so you could share it with us. If you believe Hollywood, people from the Appalachians were not too clever, killers, but there is always the truth that they were a close knit community that lived a tough life and if they hadn't pulled together they wouldn't have survived. Of course there were those that created the violence and in some cases hatred, but as I have always said, that is the same for almost every community, country and world wide is the same. There is so much more to them and your videos depict that side of them, the fun, caring, hard working community. Thank you for your videos and I'm sorry it took so long for me to watch it, I somehow missed it so I am glad you put the reminder up. Love to you all Bro and many prayers your way. ♥️♥️🙏🙏

My people wound up in Oregon via the hill country of Texas from the Appalachian parts of the Carolina's.
@@keithmiller6277 Oh hey that's so awesome. The stories they must have had traveling! Would've LOVED to have heard them.
My grandparents said nobody ever even thought about 'calling the law' in to settle something; you had to work it out or fight it out.
