No shortage of variety for you Dave! Must leading the MVP count 🙂 Liked hearing those rails singing when the train departed. Stay safe, keep 'em rolling!
Jack of all trades! Glad you can be flexible, going where you're needed. Hmmm. Makes you wonder just what was ailing that switch. Glad you didn't have to mess with it! The bridge does look very nice there. Good work! Hope the trespassers aren't looking to make trouble. Glad you're aware and on it! Thank you for sharing the video. Hope your day off is going well!
Awesome Shaggy, and really glad to hear you guys liked staying there. We do love it. Nice and clean and peaceful. I kind of think the owners have passed away and now their son and daughter run the place. We used to go to their house to check in, now it's all online and over the phone.
that looks great at the bridges , keeping that brush down makes it look maintained! good PR for the local towns. once done easier to maintain. great work Dave, and video!
Always busy busy, that switch reminds me of when you take your car in to the shop and the mechanic says, can't duplicate customers complaint.. 🤣 and Dave Being Dave, taking a day off of work to go work.. 🤣🤣🤣 thats why you'll be forever young.. the bridge clean up looks great.. good stuff Dave..
Nice recap Dave of you short week, hope your Friday goes good, yes the cool weather is coming, going to feel like 25F overnight and leaves are falling like crazy now. Cheers and take care
Good morning. Great week in review. I would suspect a bad or weak cell in the battery as it would allow the lights to work, but not enough amperage to control the switch. That's my two cents worth. LOL. Have a great weekend my friend.
You very well could be right Lewis. Those are sealed batteries so I don't know how to check cells like in the old batteries with the caps on them. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
I thought the switch machines I maintained had a lot inside but yours looks darn complicated. Never seen one with a battery inside, I think you have another video that showed inside it a while ago. You know the problem will return when those little gremlins think it will be the most awkward time LOL. I like the bridge all tidy and see some detail not noticed before. Have a good day Dave
Of course they will return, they'll wait till it's pouring down rain or freezing temps out.... That's railroading.... LOL Yes I did show the inside of that control box in another video, but have never made a video that explains the whole thing. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
Bizarre. That intermittent thing with the switch during those first few minutes...Weird. The only thing I can think of is some hidden condensation along the way. It was there so it didn't work; by the time you tried it, it had dried up and it worked. Long shot, yeah, but those "intermittent" things can make ya crazy at times (LOL! ask me how I know that...On second thought...DON'T ask.)
Good idea Doug! Here we have a facial scanner for the time machine that keeps track of us tho. We used to have a hand scanner. I don't think my tablet of rock would work real well tho? Thank you very much for watching my friend.
We had a remote controlled battery operated rail car a while ago and that antenna send the signal from the cab back to the car to tell it what to do Paul. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
Got to ask, did they bring all of the train cars and engines by truck to this location? or was there a nearby rail they connected to, to get all of the equipment to this rail?
There is a siding about 6 miles from our harbor that NS now owns. All the rolling stock was taken there, then trucked in 4GSR. A huge expense which is why we don't get newer locos, imagine the cost of trucking in a loco. Go to the home page for my CCRX6700 That's Railroading channel and click on the community tab. Scroll down and theres some pics of #3098 loco being trucked in. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
I hate to be a electchicken having to figure out that power box! I'd have to use a coal miners diagnostic tool on it! Put 440 on it and look for the smoke!
I will have to remember that Jughead next time the thing goofs up, 440 should be enough to get the desired results.... :-) Thank you very much for watching my friend.
@@ThatsDavesOtherDoings if 440 won't do it put 12470 on it and it'll show up fast! Don't tell OSHA but once upon a time we had a grounded 995 miner cable that we couldn't find because where it was laying was a couple feet of mud. The electrical hose repairman wired it straight to the main mine power and it didn't take long to spot the problem when it blew a cable as big as my arm clean in to! That 12,470 will root it out and fast!
*_NO TRESSPASSING or be zapped by our 15 megajoule space-based laser._* 🤣 Looking at that rig torn down for an engine overhaul makes me really happy I'm no longer a mechanic. The cleaned up bridges look nice, all that's missing now is some graffiti to give them style and color. 👣👣👣👣👣👣👣
Is that the next Opie shop project David? We could use some good reinforcement on our bridges. Believe it or not a few months ago someone stole some of the deck walkway plates off one of the bridges.... sigh. But when we get hover tracks, no more need for bridges! Thank you very much for watching my friend.
We've had mice nests in the switch cabinets but so far never have they chewed up the wiring, we keep them cleaned out as soon as we find them. Thank you so much for watching the video Tactical Gaming Network and may you have a very good day.
Thank you for this video! That electric switch for the rails was on the blink ever so briefly, but whatever the mischief, it was not recognized or corrected and is only in abeyance. If moisture had a role, that might be corrected by a layer of plastic as from a garbage bag, if it doesn't result in undue heat retention. The cover should have a small switch that turns the unit on only when the cover is securely closed. At the height of the Second World War, Winston Churchill was asked what he thought about his role. He said that he felt like a sow. When asked for clarification, he said "too many little piglets and not enough tits oh the sow ". At the base of the bridges should be planted small herbaceous plants with deep roots (such as dandelions) to hold the soil and prevent its erosion.
He's right, I don't have enough tits.... LOL When they built this track they seeded all the track and under all the bridges with Crown Vetch and mixed in locust tree seed. A good idea, but all the crown vetch and most of the locusts are now gone. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
Yes they do Gary, their is a hydraulic jack in the box and you can manually pump it with a bar, then you flip a lever to pump it back over the the original position. RR gremlins I have a lot of here.... :-) Thank you so much for watching the video my friend.
Busy is as busy as do BIG BOY,nice 🎥👍👏👏👏
Always something to do here on the RR as you well know Teddy.
Really appreciate your checking out the video my friend.

A lot going on at the Mining Company's railroad. Thank you for recording this video Dave...
There's always a lot going on here Steve as you well know.
Thank you very much for watching my friend.
You're magic Dave! You pass your hand over the switch and hesl it! Amazing!
Too bad about the Phillies. Wait'll next year!!
Maybe I should retire and hire myself out as an electrical
magician Michael..... :-) Thank you very much for watching my friend.

You could bolt a block of wood to that lid so that when it's opened and the lid is dropped,, the block won't let it drop to the ground.
Your right about that Compirate, but then the guys would complain about the lid being to heavy.... :-) Thank you very much for watching my friend.

Appreciate that 1208Bug. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
I assume your engines are remote control. Id love to see how that works. Thanks Dave.

someday I will do a video on the remote system. Thank you very much for watching my friend.
