  • Spelle, 11 September 2019. At Agritechnica 2019, Krone is showcasing three new front mowers without conditioners. Each of the three models is available either as a ‘Push’ or ‘Pull’ version. These latest additions to the product portfolio emphasise once again Krone’s strong position as a specialist for forage harvesting equipment.
Shared features of the EasyCut F 320 M/F 320 and F360 M models are the new and curved styling and stretched curtains. The front curtain opens clear and wide and gives convenient access to the cutterbar when changing blades. The cutterbar itself has shed substantial weight for even better contouring.
Further practical changes refer to the end curtains on the new front mowers without conditioners. Folding into transport position without tools and hydraulically as an option, these make for transport widths of less than 3m. All new front mowers feature the tried-and-tested Krone SmartCut cutterbar with discs turning away from each other spaced closer for an increased overlap of the orbiting blades, stripeless work and superb cuts in light crops. The innovative SafeCut solution is of course also implemented on the new mowers. The system relies on a roll pin that connects each disc to the drive shaft and that shears off when the disc hits an obstacle. As the gearwheel continues spinning, the stopped disc jacks up on a thread and clear off the neighbouring discs, eliminating the risk of damaging these.
The new F 320 front mowers have a massive top hat on either end. Spaced 145cm apart, the two hats tighten even large volumes into compact swaths which the tractor can straddle.
The Push models have massive suspension springs and attach close to the tractor via the Weiste A-frame. Krone recommends attachment to the telescoping top link for perfect contouring in direction of travel. Lateral machine travel in the pivoting lower links can be blocked by adjusting the pins to prepare for raising the machine in parallel with the Ground.
A Pull model is suspended in its centre of gravity, i.e. in a ball joint, and is controlled by arms. Hydraulic suspension is standard so the ground pressure is easily controlled from the cab. When hitting a foreign object the mower breaks back and moves up. The machine offers up to 18° lateral travel.
All new mowers can be specified with hydraulically folding guards, a CCTV camera system or additional lights (two sidelights with colour LEDs).
