I saw The Hu live about a month ago. They were opening for Megadeth and Five Finger Death Punch. They were absolutely amazing! I have a new favorite band! Love tribal metal!

Hu! Hu! Hu! This is a war song based on old chants attributed to Chingis (Genghis) Khan. They use traditional instruments and Mongolian throat singing to create a unique Folk Metal sound. I highly recommend their collaboration with Lzzy Hale, "Song of Women". They also have a couple of killer Metalica covers.

The band’s name translates to the Mongolian root word for human being, and their unique approach blends instruments like the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), Tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), Tumur Khuur (jaw harp) and throat singing withcontemporary sounds, creating a unique sonic profile that they call “Hunnu Rock.”

I have never been a fan of heavy metal. But these guys are the exception. I enjoy their different sound. Mongolian throat singing with very cool instruments.

They played at The Exit/In in Nashville, Tennessee. That place place is almost a holy site due to all the greats who played there. It was recently saved from being closed and torn down. It's now a historical landmark.

I love this because I love indigenous music from around the world since I’m part Native American on both sides of my family, with Cherokee on my mother’s side and Navajo and Blackfeet on my Father’s side, the only grandfather I ever got to know was my Stepgrandfather who was full blooded Navajo

Thank you, Sarah for doing a reaction to this band. I had never heard of them. Will look for more of their work.
I enjoyed listening to Mongolian rap music 15-20 yrs ago. This reminded me to them.
It would be fascinating if Tom MacDonald and The Hu Band collaborated on a piece. That would be mind-blowing!

Song of Women with Lizzy Hale is great too-and they show photos of the band members with their mothers when they were babies.
There is also a trilogy of songs-the 3rd one is a very fun celebration.
