@@AverageReviewsFromAnAverageGuy Some years ago I bought one, but I never used it, because it was not clear to me how it works, so I fogotten about it. Yesterday I saw on the Internet a musician that was playing with Spider Capo, so I remembered to have one. I looked for some videos, but I was not satisfied, till when, at last, I found your video, the clearest for me, without any doubt. So best regards from Italy, still with my compliments !
It works fine on electrics too...you can adjust the width so that it will fit most 6 string guitars. They also have an extra wide version for classical and 12 strings etc.... Thanks for watching!
2 questions: 1. Can I use the spider capo on a classical guitar? 2. Can I play whatever tuning I want without any problem? There are some songs out there which use really weird tunings and I really want to play them, but the idea of constantly changing the tuning of my guitar doesn´t sound good to me. Is there a limit to this capo?
They have different sizes....a small (for ukuleles), the standard (for acoustics and electrics), and an XXL (for classical and extra strong guitars). You are still restricted to which tunings you use....remember all this does is hold down the strings you select. The guitar itself remains in standard tuning (or whatever you have it tuned to) I would think of it more as a tool to find new ideas and not a way to try out alternative tunings. Hope this helps?
I really like this idea. I play DADGAD and drop D a fair bit - this really would add bandwidth to my writing ideas. One question - if you put a capo beyond the spider, what exactly is the spider doing? Isn't the capo just compressing every string at a higher fret than the spider? Am I missing something? Thanks.
Really interesting question! I have not tried this with a slide as my slide playing leaves a lot to be desired.... In theory it should work well with the open type “tunings” As soon as I get some time I will try it out and leave my thoughts for you. Thanks for the comment 😉
Martin Smith This isn’t a tutorial video, just a quick review and my thoughts on the product. Each of the tunings I used in the vid come on a chart with the capo. The idea is to see how it works and decide if your interested. Thanks for the comment 😊🎵
No guy. The point is, is to create your own and find other tunings. And I believe he mentioned that it comes with a guide with those exact tunings he demonstrated. And to confirm, my spider came in the mail a few days back and it does have said guide on the back of the package.
Ok. I found a really good way around your situation. You can pause the video and match up your capo to his. Right?? Isn't that awesome?? Pausing a video. Whoda thunk? And also, he shows the notes each string is tuned to. If only I had something that would allow me to tune my guitar to specific notes, then this video wouldn't be pointless.
OK I am 73 and today March 11, 2023 is the first time I have heard about the Spider Capo. Thank you for enlightening me !!!
We like this capo. It's a bit annoying to take on and off, but when you plan your set list properly it can really help out!
Now THIS is a proper review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks for sharing and for shedding some light on many different and creative alternative tunings! Regards from 🇲🇽
Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😊
Do you use any alternate tunings? 🎵
In my opinion this is the best video to understand how Spider Capo works! Congratulations and many thanks!
Thanks so much! Do you have one or are you looking to get one?

Ah, that’s great! I hope you have fun coming up with new ideas ☺️🎶
Love the idea of this capo....It's great to be able to use alternate tunings without actually detuning.
Such an interesting concept, thanks for showing so many different options :)
this was a good review of this capo :) thanks man , think I'll try it , nice tunes you played
Thanks! Let me know how you get on with it 🎶
A great idea, but could really do with a quicker change mechanism. It's fine if you want to leave it in place, but a bit of a pain to move about.
Excellent review! Really cool capo. Tell me would it work on the Electric Guitar? Cheers!

Yes it is...I just wanted to demonstrate that you can capo above and get back to standard tuning without having to remove the spider :)
Have you tried using this with slide guitar?

Hii
Reaction alif_ba_ta. Finger style. Please boss 🙏 Thnks 👍
Yeah, sorry I didn’t even notice I had done any finger style for the tunings! Maybe I’ll get a chance to do some fresh bits at some point.
Please tell us what strings are being held down for each tuning or the video is pointless

He literally puts it on the screen each time dude... Do better.
