    Does the unit cause you to build the wall out just for the toilet a little bit due to the size of the frame?

    • @Scott-eo7lj
      @Scott-eo7lj 4 года назад

      Yes. I think it's idiotic. All the mechanical parts of the toilet and water supply is now hidden behind a tile wall. It does look nice but I like the toilets we use here in America. Most of Europe use these types I think

    • @ruffxm
      @ruffxm 4 года назад +4

      @@Scott-eo7lj All of the mechanics, valves, flush mechanism and hoses are accessible through the flush plate. You can replace anything but the tank without disturbing the finished wall. There are other carrier manufacturers that will allow a flush installation without building-out the wall. Yes they originated in Europe but are slowing gaining popularity here. They are easy to clean, modern looking and space-saving.

      Venting is required as all drains need one vent per fixture that can be joined together upstream. An upward sweep vent depending on vertical or horizontal junction will determine the parts needed.

    Do you tear up the wall? Or will it last forever?

    • @vicromono4799

      Flush valve repair/replacement can be accomplished by removing the actuator panel. The bowl can be unbolted and resealed without removing sheetrock. I do like the fact that a leak is more visible with the wall hung toilet as apposed to a floor mounted unit as a floor unit can leak for a long period of time without showing up until the floor, subfloor, joists are rotted. Cleaning is also much easier task with no base to mop around.

      What if any pipe breaks in your wall? Do you expect them to “last forever” too?

    • @nc3826

      @@raywhite8122 Water inlet pipes to a toilet do leak and would have went undetected in my case and would have caused major damage, if was it was in the wall...so inlet pipes needs an upgrade to go in the wall...

    • @Hunter-yy4es
      @Hunter-yy4es 5 лет назад +1

      could possibly have a tap inside where the button panel can be removed to turn off the water. Just a guess

    • @vicromono4799
      @vicromono4799 5 лет назад +1

      The valve is inside the box behind the button panel as the other reply had correctly guessed. Also all flush valve components can be accessed as well.

      Only water connection is in the tank. You can access it through the flushing plate.

    • @miles5600
      @miles5600 4 месяца назад

      @@stevejohnson6053 depends, anything leaking inside the tank is replaceable behind the flush buttons. anything else will need to have the wall opened up, but the blessing here is that the tank is from the same material as your car's fuel tank so these easily last 20+ years without maintenance if the installer does some proper plumbing.

    • @steveram9459

      I am having this exact problem. The flush pipe is leaking from the bottom of the cistern. This means that a hole has to be cut into the wall tiles.so that you can get access to the bottom of the cistern. Absolute stupid design for a toilet. No consideration for future maintenance.
