I love your setup. However I was wondering whether this configuration actually works considering Prado's dynamic roof load capacity of (only) roughly 80 - 100kg? Can it potentially be extended? What are your thoughts on that? Appreciate
I’m in the process of purchasing the same Bush Co awning but will fit it to a Front Runner roof rack (not aerobars) With the awning weighing 33 odd kgs, the only other accessory I plan to fit to the roof rack are a set of 4 x Max Trax. Totally agree that fitting the awning and a rooftop tent to (standard) aerobars seems a bit crazy (dangerous) and counter-intuitive to all the info currently on RUclips regarding vehicle roof load limits and roof racks. Bush Co. please weigh in to the current discussion to clarify
Pretty sure the bars are rated to 40-50kg each, should be fine as they are bolted into same spots as the the factory rails (if fitted), no pop rivets... Three vortex bar system would be lighter so wouldn't eat into roof load limit as much as a full rack would.
the bush company are the best products by far, no doubt about it,,,,the only thing that concerns me is the weight issue,,has this setup done the hard miles yet to prove what he is saying,,a bit sus i think
Have this on my 84 Vw bus! Just Awning on rack.
Looks great, but how do you get into the tent ???
Have a red bull
I was wondering the same thing. The awning looks awesome, but do you have to retract it every time you get in the tent?
lol you get in via the ladder on the driver sides. You just unclip and open from the back. He just didn’t show the telescopic ladder
Nice setup.
How is it with water with rain running down the back between the back door space when open

Yeah, I taught the same when I saw the vid. Nice setup otherwise 😉

Where do I buy that dog leg pole for the tent
I'm a subscriber because I enjoy your work. But all that weight on Aero Bars? There'll be so many places that the owner, simply, can't go.

How can we get in to the house?? There is no ladder space??
The ladder can be mounted to either the rear or the side of the vehicle.
How do you get into the tent when the awning is out
The tent can be accessed from either side as well as the rear.
Hpw do you climb on your tent?

How much does a setup like this cost?
4-5k for the tent and 2-3k for the awning

Как в палатку попасть ?

As positioned, the umbrella provides no shade at all - just look at all the sun on the pavement on left of the car.
Just orient car differently
Move the car then haha. Or you can ask the Sun ☀️ to move 😂
