If A'ja Wilson is so popular and marketable, how come 99% of the country had no clue who she is until Caitlin Clark? How much merch has Wilson been responsible for selling? Clark's jersey sold out in hours.

If I were the owner of one of the teams whose GM would not take Clark, I would be looking for a new GM. Indiana may not win the championship, but they most certainly are going to make the most money.
Not only will they make the most money but, the surrounding businesses will also benefit from the added crowd. For example, The Fever's preseason game drew 14K fans compared to their average of 4K last year. Now, let's lower that to keep it simple. Let's say they only draw 10K a game. That's 6K more a game which means more revenue for hotels, restaurants and of course their own concessions as most of them will need to eat and some will need a place to stay.

Sold out, lowest ticket price was $97.00. Next week, lowest ticket price $17.00. In press huddles after practices, when the reporters ask Clark how she feels about the sell out crowd, she always invites her opponent's fans to keep buying tickets and keep coming back (such a classy response!).
