Very good video demonstration, and thank you for posting it onRUclips. I just purchased a meat slicer that is both suitable for commercial use and home use. It has a 10 inch blade and the entire unit is smaller than the one in this video, but still has a weight of 35 pounds. It is basically the same as the bigger slicer on this video, but what is exactly the same is how careful one must be when operating the slicer and cleaning it. You don't have to be afraid of slicing equipment, just follow all safety precautions when using and cleaning / sanitizing. I am willing to go through these steps of cleaning to avoid cross contamination, take care of my slicer, and above all else BE EXTRA CAREFUL and ATTENTIVE. Meat slicers like this are very useful, from cutting deli meats, bacon, produce, bread, and even thinly slicing potatoes to make homemade potato chips about 1 millimeter or less in thickness. Can also slice pickles to the thickness you like.
been watching a lot of instructions of cleaning my professional meat-slicer. you are the only one that said to take of the grind stones and clean them. obvious when you think about it but I didn't think of it. :) thanks.
Great video Miriam. Good system you have in place for cleaning it, and meticulous. Side note: I had to turn off annotations because you use waaaaay too many of them. You can turn them off with RUclips settings but some people may not know that.
This is very helpful! I'm going to be starting my first paying job at Stop & Shop as a deli worker. So I'm going to be slicing the items, and I've never used a slicer so I wanted to be prepared for my first day.
I am glad it will help. Remember to never touch the exposed blad as it is sharper than you think. Also clean from the inside out as I said in the video. Good luck with your new job. Stay safe.
How do you clean off tiny debree of meat from the metal ? I always fail to remove them, they don't seem to stick to dry cloth or with tissue either. Please explain, thank you.
